So that's the way to keep it from shifting into reverse.. I knew that was a problem but everyone always says to "be sure you set your parking brake".. in all these era Fords. But the Thunderbird's steering column is the best safety.. I'm glad you said this because that never crossed my mind.. I just aquire a '66. Thank you
I literally just a it's twin sister yesterday off of craigslist but mine isn't NEAR as nice as this one, although the interior is just as nice as this one. Mine is red on red also but the chrome is missing and the paint is shot, I'm not going to build a concourse car because that chrome will be a b!tch to find. I'm going to build a 1970's style Restomod, Since I don't have to touch the interior I have to go with a color that works with Deep Red so.... Pewter it is. I'm going to paint the roof and the hood scoop a deep red color with the heavy metal flake just to set it off, This car considered "Ugly" as far as T-Birds go, My dad and uncle owned a speed shop when I was growing up and one of the first things they taught me was "You have to go with ugly, don't hide it, make it stand out."
Lol. You don't know your Thunderbirds very well. The 66 Landau doesn't have the rear quarter windows. The 66 base does. You should do some research before acting like a know it all.
She is a beauty, don't forget to slide that steering wheel over when getting out, when left running. They all can drop into reveres

Not the original engine. After 1964 FE engines moved the oil cap from the left side of the block to the drivers side Valve cover.
Warning They like to jump from park to rev .when idling easy fix .new shift arm
They are Flair birds not square birds...just saying.
That's a 64 body with a 66 front end ,I know I have a 66 and it doesn't have the back quarter window

Just the 66 Landaus don't have rear quarter window?
Wrong. They made both versions. I perfer this style.
I have never seen a '66 with a quarter window either except the convertible.
@@cheftomsd1 standard T-bird, 2 Town coupe, 3 Landau
Take a beautiful looking car, then ruin it with stupid looking rims! Put those stupid rims on a Chevy!
