It kinda depends on what you want to do. I’ve been to 3 great spots. Let me tell you what I like about all of them Chankanaab: has some amazing snorkeling a little more advanced and deeper, more activities than some of the other places Sky reef(the video is coming)great shallow snorkeling, lots to see, great relaxing Paradise beach: one of the better beaches, real soft sand and an amazing aqua park for the kids I’m going to Mr sanchos this time in a couple of weeks just to try a new spot. I’ll upload a video of it so you can check it out as well. But I will say chankanaab was awesome
The day we went there was hardly anyone there because it was an off day, so I think they can bring them out as needed. The place is really big so I’m sure they have a ton in storage, that they put away when they get weather, and bring out when needed. It seems like I’m always snorkeling in rainy weather, lol
@@Snorktastic ok thanks! We have a group of 57 going so trying to make sure there’s enough room for us to sit on beach in the chairs! It looks like it’s a rocky path into the water? Is that so? I was hoping for the traditional sand to water beach. Is there parts like that?
@@kakester8 So you are correct, the beach is more rocky here. It’s more a great spot for snorkeling, and still enjoying sunning, but without the soft Caribbean sand. If you want more of a real nice beach with soft sand go to paradise beach, it’s not as good of snorkeling so it’s kinda a trade off. Just watch my other video to get an idea of the beach there. I also just went to sky reef, which is right next to chankanaab, but it was also not soft sand, more for the snorkeling
I think it only took us about 15 minutes, it was super close. When we went to paradise beach it was a little further. It’s Definitely close enough to go to even if you have a short day there
@@suzanneahearn1050 I just have it on the basic settings for video, I didn’t modify anything. I’m really new to filming underwater as I just graduated from my phone to this camera, lol. I think the key is , from what I have noticed, pointing the camera slightly up so it catches more light and reflects the colors better. I do have an underwater light as well that does help you see the color better, but only on close ups, I really need a better light for it to capture colors at a longer distance
Great map of snorkeling area. I will use it next time I'm there. Enjoyed your video and underwater images. Great Job!
Awesome, I’m glad you can use the map. I can’t wait to get back there again, it was an amazing snorkeling destination.
Great video. Heading to the island in a few weeks. Is this the place to go? Or are there better spots.

Is there a lot of beach chairs? It doesn’t look like alot

Did u rent equipment or take with
I always take mine, I bring a duffle bag in my suitcase with wheels on it, then I can just put the snorkel gear in and take it with us easier.
How far is this from port?

What are you using to film?
I’m using a GoPro hero 11, and my phone for all the videos on land
Can you share the gopro setting? I'd like to replicate since the video was so good.
