- Join me for some holiday homemaking! I will be cleaning and decorating my home for the holidays.
STUFFING:
bread cubes about 12 oz
1 onion
3 celery stalks
2 green apples
8 oz mushrooms
1 1/2 cups raisins
water chestnuts 1 can
brown sugar
salt & pepper & garlic powder
poultry seasoning
melted butter 1-2 sticks
1/2 cup turkey drippings or chicken broth (Only for Stuffing not cooked in Turkey!)
I eyeball everything but it's about 1/2 cup brown sugar and seasonings to your liking. If it needs a little more flavor add more seasoning! It'll be as good out of the oven as it is going in! If it's bland add more seasoning! I do enough butter to start to moisten the stuffing but don't make it soggy! 1 to 2 sticks melted butter to your liking. I stuff my turkey and then any remaining stuffing I bake in a dish in the oven.
Just be sure to add some turkey drippings or chicken broth to your stuffing that is not cooked in the turkey. If you don't the stuffing will be dry. Cover the stuffing in a dish with aluminum foil and cook at 350 degrees for about 30-40 minutes. I put my stuffing that I cook in a dish in the oven AFTER my turkey comes out and is resting.
CREAMY ITALIAN DRESSING:
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tbs sour cream
2 tbs milk
2 tbs red wine vinegar
1 tsp honey or a pinch of sugar
salt, pepper & garlic to your liking
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp dried parsley
Add all your ingredients to a dish and mix! voila! Serves about 5
Yeah I wish my dirt was that bad! Haha I just don’t worry about it enough I guess. But in my defense I have heard dirt builds your immunity from illness! I guess that’s why all my children are healthy! 😅
So true! A little dirt don't hurt😂
I'm with you there!!!
