To answer your question Tae was in Mexico shooting the cooking variety show Jinny’s kitchen. Once Jin told him about the enlistment he adjusted his schedule and wrapped up the filming earlier and left ahead of the rest of the cast and travelled 24+ hours straight ( you heard in this ep how much effort it takes to fly to South America) to be there the next day for Jin’s enlistment. That’s how loyal he and the members are to each other. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

For context, jin HATES winter and cold in general so everyone was sad that he had to leave for the military in December cuz it's the lowest temperatures in sk at that time. It was so cute that they decided to release his episode during a warmer season despite having shot so early on 🥲

My heart smiled when you immediately knew it was Hobi: "In this shit for life" for real! Jin's appearance on Lee Younji's drinking show "Nothing Much Prepared" is very sweet and funny. It was one of the first solo appearances he made, and as an introvert he found it quite taxing until they had had a few. Yoongi is very practical, very into design and last year during festa (?? I think so) we got to see him making all the members (kitchen) chopping boards in a woodworking session. Jimin made a bracelet, Namjoon went to Switzerland (probably the only man alive who could enthuse me about a chair museum), Tae drove us around with a banging playlist, Hobi took us behind the scenes of the "Arson" shoot, Jin cooked and Jk went camping. All show the members' personalities really endearingly and all worth watching. I think weverse lives take the place of BTS podcasts for now.

RM and Suga helped Jhope and taught him rap. And then the three rappers had this genius idea to make like a "School of Hiphop" for the whole group where every day they would gather and listen to multiple artists. Sometimes they would do this for like 6hrs. RM created a playlist of about fifty artists including Drake, Nas, The notorious B.I.G, Tupac, etc. To get the rest of the members familiar with the genre. You should try and read their autobiography that was released not too long ago.💜
just FYI. it's officially categorised and mentioned as biography - as it was written by Kang Myeongseok who was the oral historian and journalist who interviewed them, although BTS was quite involved sharing their opinions in the process n a lot of their quotes were included as is. hence it was marketed as "written by Kang Myeongseok and BTS". Note: The narrative parts were written from the author’s lens although he and the editor heavily consulted BTS and fact checked. But it's not considered an autobiography as autobiographies by definition are entirely self-written by the person the book is about.

Stop spreading misinformation. They didn’t teach him to rap. Another rapper teached at the very beginning. Jhope is self taught. With his hard work with improving, writing etc. he he what he is cause of himself. Jhope even said in HIS song MORE he’s been learning himself for 10 years. Rm and suga have never said they taught Jhope. Funny thing is Jhope rapping is unique no one does it like him.

@29:29 hobi encountered hiphop music through dance before BTS. His very early influences were J Cole (🥺) and Kriss Kross. He came to Seoul, learned rap through their mentor Yankee (from hiphop duo TBNY) and practiced with namgi (which were very supportive as they already have underground rap + songwriting experience) and other trainees. He very quickly caught up and had also been writing his own rap verses, freestyling and producing from early on their career!!

the game yoongi mentions jin likes to play is maple story and jin actually helped make some stuff for the game (last year, i guess. he went to work, present an idea and there are some videos on maple story channel about the whole process. it's really interesting

I was just so emotional hearing them talk about it and seeing them all cry. My heart hurt so much for them.

Highly suggest you read the book, BTS Beyond The Story! At least up to the part you’re at in their discography. There are so many details from the members perspectives on how they started out. You would ASSUME bighit had the money for instructors and teachers, but that’s far from reality. They were a tiny company. RM and Suga passionately taught and shared their love of rap & hip hop with the other members. They called this the “rap den”. It’s SUCH A GOOD READ.

2018 was something else. They were RISING like crazy. Their growth has always been an exponential curve but everyone was suddenly chanting "this is their peak" and it was hectic, even for the fans. It was also the best year on army twitter until antis ruined it in November 2018 (N@zi accusations, terrible time). And then they were sweeping in the award shows (as they deserved) and the fans were going crazy because this was the most awards they've ever won. We all knew it was a HUGE year. And then suddenly Jin says they were thinking of disbandment. It was such a shock. Then we all went back and looked at this year once again to realise how painful it was for them. 2018 really was everything.
hobi’s episode will be released today. and honestly i think you need to watch some compilations of sope (suga + j-hope) vlives together which they call them “hwagae market” to see more of their amazing bond
Loui, I’m going to recommend you read their book. There’s so much in there about their pre debut days.
I highly recommend reading Beyond The Story, BTS’ 10th anniversary biography. It tells the story of their honest journey as a group, including their hardships in the beginning, such as BTS’ shortage of staff, space, financial support and resources predebut and during their first few active years! They really didn’t have many instructors at all, mainly just a vocal coach and their choreographer, Son Sungdeuk, plus a couple producers that included Bang Sihyuk himself. The rapline were really on their own.

no rappers didn´t have a teacher but RM and Suga also learned rap by themself or by listening to rap. they teached J-hope when they lived togehter. only the vocal line has a teacher and they also have a dancing teacher. but watch "American hustle life", BTS went to the US to study hip hop and they also learned alot. incl beatboxing
I know it showed that j-hope supposedly learned beatboxing in AHL, but he actually beatboxed before that. There are early post-debut interviews where RM is asked to freestyle and Hobi beatboxes for him. Also, I believe Big Hit had rap mentors (a rapper named Yankie for one), so he didn't only learn from Namgi, but he did practice with them.
In the BTS book jhope said that it was like a rap den in their dorm everyone will be freestyle n do cyphers that how jhope developed his own style of rapping.

Suga and j-hope did have a rap teacher (but I can’t remember his name-they’ve both openly talked about him before). And j-hope is just a really self-directed person so he grew up in hip hop and pulled influences from them too. J. Cole for example. But having Joon and Yoongi around 24/7 surely was a huge influence. But just remember he’s been rapping for 13 years now, just a couple less than Joon. So he’s a master of his craft in his own right.

BTW apparently Jin is really doing well in the military. He recently revealed his rank and to get it 2 months early, he had to be Special Class Warrior. All in all, the conditions to become a " Special class warriors" include: achieving a 90% hit rate in shooting (typically 18 hits out of 20 rounds), 86 sit-ups within 2 minutes, completing more than 72 push-ups within 2 minutes, a 3km run within 12.5 min, rapid marching in 20kg full gear, 5km run in 15kg gear, 240 meters round-trip race within 1 minute 20 seconds, 420 times leg tugs, etc.
Even in the military it seems that BTS members excel.

I became a fan during idol. A few months in I was watching mama and saw bts do that speech.
I was in shock cus even though I've been a fan only for about 4 months then, I knew bts and their relationship with each other was different.

Also hobi, he knew hiphop cus of dance... he just didn't try rapping until he moved into the bts dorms a month after suga in 2010. He started rapping cus he was living with about 10 rappers at the time. He would just observe how they freestyled and he would just join in even though he was a beginner. And yoongi and joon guided him on that journey.
In 2011 and 2012 rapline became the official hiphop trio BTS. They made satoori rap and when they brought in the 4 vocalists... they created a school of hiphop to teach the vocal line about hiphop.
Joon, yoongi and hobi would sit down at night and became teachers for the 4 vocalists and they thought them about American hiphop and its history.
In the mornings hobi would teach them dance.
They all thought each other something.

generally the alcohol is made by fermenting rice with yeast, theres so many variations of rice wine all over these countries, ie. makgeolli from South Korea, sake from japan and ours is called Lihing in Sabah, Malaysia

Hobi did his feature with Jo Kwon - Animal before he debuted with BTS, so he is being his usual modest, but he is so intense when he dives in, he absorbed like a sponge the different techniques from RM and Suga. When you get to Love Yourself Outro:Tear the Rapline, you will understand why Jin talks about potentially disbanding and how difficult it really was for our lads. Epic performance at Wembley.
