There's a reason why they are the no 1 rock band in the world ... they combine blues, r&b, jazz and reggae into their rock. Something no band has ever done so well. 😊

John Paul Jones on the funky bass line and keys - he's such a phenomenal musician. Led Zep not only had the best guitarist and vocalist in rock, they had the greatest rhythm section of all time.

On top of all that, their heads are on straight (watch their other channel where they discuss their views). They couldn't have picked a better pursuit, they'll surely be one of the most successful reaction channels eventually.

The unspoken hero of Led Zeppelin is without a doubt, John Paul Jones. His bass lines and keyboard additions truly prime the entire environment with the mood of the song. Knowing he plays them both, at the same time, is mind blowing. Hendrix plays with his teeth, SRV plays behind his back, and John Paul Jones plays with his feet...that is just, WOW!

    • @EdKoller
      @EdKoller 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I have to differ, the BEAST, Bonzo, was the heartbeat of Zeppelin. When he was no more, Led Zeppelin, had to be finished.

    • @robertevans2450
      @robertevans2450 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@EdKoller Such debates are hard to refute as it is just opinion vs opinion, I would, however, offer a different reasoning for why after Bonzo's death Led Zeppelin couldn't continue, not because Bonzo was the heart, but that he was instrumental in the creation process. Jimmy Page stated that the reason why Jason couldn't be a solution, or any other drummer for that matter, was because they change songs for shows, and if you weren't a part of the creation, you don't understand the dynamics enough to know what is going to change nor what you can change and it becomes too cumbersome to try and to bring someone up to speed enough to fulfill those roles and without the drummer being up to speed, they are forced to have the same show over and over which is something the band always swore to never be. These are Page's views, which I bet John Paul probably agrees fully with. Plant will tour with anyone, anytime, and be however he wishes to be, regardless of the rest, which is his strength and prerogative. I can't argue that Bonzo was or wasn't the heart of the band, even though my opinion would be that role was John Paul Jones. I can support that Bonzo was vital, as is the case with Page and John Paul Jones.

    • @EdKoller
      @EdKoller 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

I essentially agree with you, JPJ was/is a master of his craft, that's what made Zeppelin GREAT, they were all masters of their instruments. That said I still believe Bonzo was the driving force, to my ear, they all play off him.

There was a club downtown where I grew up. There was a upstairs part where it was for drinking 3.2 beer which was legal for 18 and older. Downstairs was a small area for dancing with live music. The dance floor was like a postage stamp size dance floor. There was a small rock band that played this song every time I went there. The name of the club was St. George, and the Dragon. You two make me laugh every time I watch you. It gives me a lot of joy to listen to you analyze songs I've been listening to for over 40 years. I'm no expert, but I think you'll find this song, particularly the lyrics, is a throwback tribute to a certain type of early blues (1930s) that featured sexual lyrics thinly cached in metaphors and double entendres. He's definitely not talking about a car, here.

@@alan73795 First off, This is the first time I have seen this video. Second, no matter how you choose to spin it, you got all upset about Lex saying something, slightly negative about your guitar God. Why are you telling me to lighten up. I'm not the one who got their knickers in a twist about it.

Physical Graffiti was such an underrated album of theirs! D'yer Maker was an interesting song from the same album. Lex, you make me feel like I felt hearing Zeppelin for the first time lol You really feel the music.

Terraplane Blues s is an old blues song that described a woman in terms of car parts. That song served as an inspiration for this one. The whole song is about sex, but said in terms of car parts. (Terraplane was an old car model).

    Greasy slicked down
    Groovy leather trim
I like the way you hold the road
    Mama, it ain't no sin
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout
    Ooh, trouble-free transmission
    Helps your oils flow
Mama, let me pump your gas
Mama, let me do it all
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout
    Check that heavy metal
    Underneath your hood
Baby, I can work all night
Believe I got the perfect tools
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout
    Automobile with comfort
    Really built with style
    Specialist tradition
Mama, let me feast my eyes
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout
    Factory air-conditioned
    Heat begins to rise
    Guaranteed to run for hours
    Mama, you're the perfect size
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout
    Grooving on the freeway
    Gauges all are red
    Gun down on my gasoline
Believe I'm gonna crack your head
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout
    I can't stop talking about
    I can't stop talking about
    Ooh, yeah, yes
    Drive on
Ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yes
    I'm coming through
    Come to me for service
    Every hundred miles
Baby, let me check your points
    Fix your overdrive
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout
    Ooh yeah, fully automatic
    Comes in any size
Makes me wonder what I did
    Before we synchronized
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout
    Ooh, feather-light suspension
    Konis couldn't hold
    I'm so glad I took a look
    Inside your showroom doors
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout love
    Talking 'bout
    Oh, I can't
    Oh, I can't
Oh, I can't stop talking about love
I can't stop talking about love
Ooh, let me go on down, go on down
Go on down, go on down, go on down, yeah
    I can't stop talking about
I can't stop talking about love, oh yeah
I can't stop talking about love or my baby
I can't stop talking about love, my baby
    My baby, my baby, yeah
    Push, push
    Push it
    Push, push
    Ooh

Yep, more of those type of metaphors from Plant/Page lol. We couldn't get enough. So far, from the amazing Physical Graffiti double LP you've hit Kashmir, Custard Pie and this one. You may want to check In My Time of Dying next. Epic, bluesy tune with an amazing crescendo and some of the sickest drumming you'll ever hear. ✌
