I do think people should apply the same standards to everything to keep it consistent. The agenda is that having brown skin when your skin in white is bad because you are appropriating from people who naturally come from that culture. This white girl is using parts of black culture to make money just like boys wearing makeup is using parts of woman culture to make money. The white girl is taking influencing opportunities from the black influencer and the man with the makeup is taking influencing opportunities from the woman with the makeup. You can’t just give the same behavior a pass just because it comes from a group you approve of.

The different is, that first Instagram girl can take off that darker foundation at the end of the day and be white. Real black or biracial people can *never* take off their born-into skin color and be white. And as far as what Jeannie was saying about black women wearing wigs - not so much now, but the history of that is *BLACK WOMEN WOULD NOT GET HIRED WITHOUT IT* (in years gone past). Again, I’m not saying in 2020, but even not that long ago - 10 years in 2010, I went for a modeling job and was told that my natural hair was “distracting” and that I would have to straighten it to book the job. I’ve heard stories of little black girls just minding their business in class and getting kicked out of school for wearing *their natural hair* (not a straight weave) in braids. Make it make sense 💁🏽‍♀️. Obviously it’s a lot better now, but the point I’m trying to make here is that, that Swedish woman is putting on the skin color and hair for fun, black women (especially in years gone past) had to put on straight/wavy hair *for survival.*

@@sharminbegum5204 Lol, Sharmin, you are spot on. Don't let this stan tell you otherwise. Ariana loves to look ethnically ambiguous. She does heavily tan her skin. Don't get me started on Kylie Jenner who originally looked like a little Irish girl with pale skin, and thin lips, and a skinny body and then tried to transform herself into a middle eastern woman.

    • @sharminbegum5204

@Arianator wilding As a grown and independent woman, I’m pretty sure she can make decisions for herself so I don’t believe that the record label is to blame for her altering her skin tone to draw in audiences who are people of colour. I honestly thought she was Latina when I first saw her because I didn’t watch her show and boy oh boy.

This is a prime example of why Jeannie is problematic. Time and time again she has shown her ignorance when it comes to racial issues. She just doesn’t get it. She was really equating beauty techniques to blackface and had nerve to act confused as to why it’s inappropriate.

Its very obvious when appropriation is happening and it's not that women are too independent. By nature both men and women are dependent on each other. It's how the universe works. You need both female energy and masculine energy. This happens not just with humans but with, other species and plants...facts or facts?

Was hoping this was an updated conversation since Jeanie has started to tan even darker since being with Jeezy. I love y'all ladies but y'all have to be aware of ways y'all can be hypocrites in some way that may offend black women. This is a form of appropriating even if Jeanie doesn't want to acknowledge it.

She’s SE Asian and we are naturally darker than East Asians. There’s a reason why we’re called “jungle Asians.” And she’s always been “dark.” So maybe with Jeezy she feels comfortable being dark and not hiding in the shade or wearing long sleeved shirts even in the summer the way most Asians do

Ok as far as that model chic. I'm with henie on that because she's not black facing she is letting everyone know she is black. White spanish and other races tan . It's not to look like a black person. We just like to look healthier with a tan. And make up does transform you when done right. It's a beauty thing not a race thing Loni!!!!! Also the guy in the last clip I agree with him. Men do protect and provide and it's nothing wrong with them. But yes we can and will do our own thing regardless but let a man be a man and protect and provide.

      @sharminbegum5204 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

No of course everyone can tan. Either naturally or using products but not to the point that you look like a race that’s not yours and it’s definitely not ok to change the texture and style of your hair. Changing your skin tone and hair texture/style combined just makes her look like a black woman which she isn’t.
Do I love braids? Yes! Am I going to start wearing them? No. Black women have been made to feel insecure and ridiculed for being their beautiful selves. Let them be and let them have their unique style. It’s not a trend

A real man is not going to be intimidated by not being needed, But he is not going to put work and effort into something he is not going to get any returns on.
a strong relationship requires both parties to put 100% into it and each other. If a woman has no use to put her share into the relationship, why would a man want to even continue BEING in that relationship.

Marcus may not have articulated his point in the most delicate manner but I agree with him 100%. A traditional man who has the means and will to provide for and protect his family is attracted to a woman who is going to support him in his mission by providing the space for him to do so. A woman who carries herself as the 'independent, I don't need a man for anything' kinda woman is going to attract a man who is going to support her in her mission as the provider aka, a feminine man.
The whole cheating conversation is disingenuous and has nothing to do with a man providing. Both provider and supporter men are capable of cheating. Choose your pick.

I think you make a good point. I don't think there's anything wrong with a woman being successful but if her energy comes off as masculine that can repel a man.

The fact that he cheats and is on Love & Hiphop says enough that he is not the kinda man to take advice from. It’s 2020. Women work. The provider role of a man is not needed anymore. Parents share Bills these days. Women work.

@@mikeskybrowser "masculine" and "feminine" aren't really relevant terms anymore...because every couple and relationship is different, and they alone decide on who is going to take care of what for their family. saying masculine and feminine is just confusing because these terms are too broad and have taken on different meaning over the years

And didn't want to be in the relationship anymore why, he was out there cheating on me doing his dirt. See when they want total control you can't say nothing his accuse is he paying and taking care of you all around. It's called control. And I said I was taking care of me wayyyy before you stepped in my life and I can do it again when you walk out. Well I walked out and I'm good for 3 years strong.
