    I’ll watch for you that day at the Quilt Festival. This will be my 3rd year. I take classes and just enjoy the show. Plus, I could spend days in the vendor section. I go on Sunday night and fly home on the next Sunday. So, no, sewing is definitely not cheaper than therapy. But definitely more fun!

    Morning Becky! Love this video. I do embroidery but usually just on cotton fabric. Haven’t gotten brave enough to do T-shirts but have had several family ask for them. That Iron on mesh for the inside? Is there a particular one you like? Hoping to meet you in Houston. Yeah! I’ll be there Sunday Thru Sat. We go every year for the week to do classes. Wish they would do a few more classes on embroidery. I do long arm classes and some new painting classes this year. Looking forward to it.

      @PowerToolsWithThread  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The inside iron on mesh by either OESD or Sulky are both good. Do a test on a rag t-shirt and when you like it, do one for you (or the dog) first. Once you get that right, you're ready for family shirts! Looking back, I should have used Sulky Solvy + (Plus) instead of the tear away. That way the Solvy will come out in the wash.

    Just use a TShirt that is at least 80-90% Polyester of course 100% is best. That is just sublimation ink on sheets. so you have to use the right material. Then make sure your iron press is the right temperature. It works great with a heat press. The cricut heat press 2 gets hot enough. The heat press 1 I do not believe will work. Hope that helps.

    Do you have a certain measurement that you use when you put the mark for the middle of your design ( from the rib neck line down )?
    What is the name of the OESD iron-on stabilizer? 😃 😃 😃

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I normally put the shirt on myself and then hold up the print out to a mirror to see where I want it. I'll put a pin in the shirt at the top of the paper just as a guide, and then when I get to the ironing board, I'll exactly figure out center/left/right. At least then I have the pin to keep me from putting it too high or low. It's a low tech method, but it works. ;-) That was OESD Fusible Poly Mesh Cut Away.

  • @lisalira9222
    @lisalira9222 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love watching your videos! What type of OESD iron mesh are you using. After looking at their website I couldn’t decide which one you used. The iron mesh that I’ve been using tends to peel up after several washes, and you had said this one never comes off. I definitely want to try it.

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, I wasn't clear. I used OESD Fusible Poly Mesh - Cut Away. Give it plenty of time to fuse to the shirt and let it fully cool before moving it off the ironing board. Also round the corners of the mesh before fusing. That helps to keep the poly from catching other items in the turbulence of the wash and pulling up at the corners.

    Good evening Becky. I can't believe how many sewing tools we have in common. I have had a PAL for a very long. I tried to use it a couple times without success. I never would have thought to use washers to hold it in place. That was a cool tutorial on how to use it. My Short E arrived Thursday. What a nightmare to put together. The Master CD was blank. The Short E was larger than i thought it would be. I have moved around my sewing room several times. I think I am set. I haven't tried it yet. See you in the movies.

    Becky, there is a lady on you tube by the name of Jennifer Maker. She did a vlog on July 9th about different types of tee shirts fabrics that you can use the infusible ink on. She does a test and shows the outcome of each. Of course Cricut recommends to use it on their products only. For sure it doesn't work with 100% cotton. She knows tons of things about all of the Cricut products. I think you will enjoy it. I bought one of the totes and did a name on one side and an animal on the other. It turned out very pretty. Love the tips on embroidery. Take care

      brenda tomlinson I would love to see a demo of the Amelie Scott Designs as well. I ordered the book but would like to see how you do it. I know there are other TH-cam videos of it being done but I really like the way Becky explains things and she’s just plain fun to watch. 😃
