I think Maestro Pollini should have played more chamber music; the few recordings he left (from Brahms's op 34 with Quartetto Italiano to Winterreise with Fisher-Dieskau, or this wonderful Mozart's quartet) are all fantastic.
I suspect there are many live performances of Pollini, Accardo and their friends in chamber music settings like this one in Salzburg. It’s a matter of people uploading the live concerts in either audio or preferably video actual films of the concerts. You are right though Pollini was a remarkable chamber music performer. Let’s hope more of his chamber music concerts are uploaded to TH-cam. There are many concerts of Accardo & Pollini together in Recitals or in chamber music settings like this one many performances are from the Salzburg Festival but also from concerts throughout the many capitals of Europe.
@@patzoffreo5982 I don't think that Pollini and Accardo ever played as a duo in public, unfortunately, although it is known that they knew each other and played together in private. Having lived in Milan, however, I remember some splendid performances by Pollini with other musicians: Beethoven's Ghost's Trio, Schumann's Quintet.
@@vivafranz3895My information is that Accardo and Pollini have played together in concert. I believe there are Carnegie Hall concerts of Webern Four Pieces and other works together. I also believe they performed Sonatas at the Salzburg Festival. I’ll have to research this matter more thoroughly. There are many chamber music concerts filmed and audio taped as far back as the 1970’s up to the 2,000’s. I would be very surprised if they didn’t perform a cycle of the Beethoven. I wonder how the industry (DG) recording firms failed to secure a cycle of the Beethoven Sonatas.
@@vivafranz3895Accardo and Pollini have played in concert together in recitals many times. Here is one example at La Scala in Milan in January 2001: VIER STUECKE FUER GEIGE UND KLAVIER OP.7 Music by ANTON WEBERN Violinista SALVATORE ACCARDO Pianista MAURIZIO POLLINI Movements performed 1. SEHR LANGSAM 2. RASCH 3. SEHR LANGSAM 4. BEWEGT And there are many other performances together including filmed recitals.
I’m sure Eb K.493 does exist. They performed extensively during the 1970’s and throughout the 1980’s, 1990’s and 2,000’s. Folks will have to look back at their archives and upload these remarkable performances. I also have an extensive photo collection of Accardo, Pollini and colleagues playing chamber music throughout Europe. Audio and video footage does exist let’s hope folks will begin uploading them to TH-cam. This is a masterful performance absolutely stunning in its beauty and careful attention to minute details.

Such a precious recording! THANKS!!!
Magnifica musica per magnifici interpreti .
THANKS for uploading this. What a treat for Pollini admirers (and, of course, Mozart lovers). RIP MAESTRO POLLINI.

You can also find on TH-cam the Beethoven Cello sonatas with Rostropovich!
