This game show actually started in mid 1970’s here in USA. Host was Richard Dawson, an English actor/comedian who eventually lived and worked in USA. The topics started to become more “edgy “ after Steve Harvey became host, around 2010. Thanks for your reaction videos! Love them👍

Steve Harvey was/is a stand up comedian. That’s why he’s perfect for this job and can extend the funny stuff.
Stand up comedian, radio show host, talk show host, tv game show host, pageant host, even roles in movies. He has his own show as a tv judge this season. Half of the humor is watching him pare his reactions down to daytime television standards, these videos are just what makes it on air. He has a live audience and a hot mike, he is in his element.
Steve Harvey has some great reactions on this show and his quick wit makes the moments even better. Steve Harvey and Richard Dawson are the two best hosts Family Feud have had. Dawson had one moment where he was almost on the floor and in tears laughing at a contestant's answer. The question during the Fast Money round was "Name a month of pregnancy where a woman would start to look pregnant?" The answer the contestant gave was "September," and it caused Dawson to go into a big fit of laughter.
Look for this. It is hilarious. I was going to mention it but I saw that FH99 mentioned it.

Family Fortune is actually the British version of Family Feud, which has been going since the early 70s.

I first became aware of your version, Family Fortunes, when some clips of that made their way onto a few American blooper specials. One of my favourites is one from the 80s, when one contestant decided to answer "turkey" for three consecutive questions in the Big Money round.

Fun fact family feud first aired in 1976.
So the show had a total of six hosts and here they are:
Richard Dawson: 1976-1985, Ray Combs: 1988-1994, Louie Anderson:1999-2002, Richard Karn: 2002-2006, John O'Hurley: 2006-2010, and current host Steve Harvey: 2010- to present day.
There was also a Celebrity show but we wont talk about that
Family Feud actually have had celebrity episodes throughout its runs, usually between different TV shows (Dallas vs Dynasty, for example), sports leagues (NFL vs NBA), etc. But it was in the last few years that the show expanded on the celebrity theme, in that they included families of celebrities.
Steve Harvey is the best host Family Feud has had! His comedic relief adds so much to it! Had a good laugh at this one today, thanks!

Steve Harvey makes Family Feud go. He knows when to pause and just give that deadpan look, letting the joke run. He also knows when to add a little innuendo to prod it along.

Family Feud was different in it’s first few decades-the questions were more factual. When Steve Harvey was brought in the questions were changed to be more of the type you see in this video, as the producers changed the demographics they were trying to reach. There are a ton of funny videos like this -you don’t have to limit yourself to Family Feud, just search for game shows.
Steve Harvey’s a good host, but I also really enjoyed the old episodes with Richard Dawson too, been watching this one since I was a little kid. You might also like old episodes of the match game from the 70’s and the Newlywed Game.
There are lots of these. My favorite clip from your Family Fortune is the guy that said Turkey, Turkey, Turkey for the first three answers in the bonus round.
And it worked for almost all of them. I love that one.

Can't believe you've not seen more of Steve Harvey. He's done stand-up comedy, had his own talk show, had a sitcom show, does Family Feud, is now a TV judge and who knows what else I'm forgetting. He's been around, in a lot of places, for a long time. Very talented, funny man.

The original host from 1976-85 was British; his name was Richard Dawson. The third host, Louie Anderson, passed away last week (he's most known for his stand-up comedy). Steve Harvey is the sixth host (since 2010).
Oh no.. I’d no idea Louie Anderson had hosted Family Feud, he has been one of my favorite comedians since I was in my 20s. I’m not much into game shows, only occasionally watching Jeopardy as that can be fun, but the last time I watched Family Feud was as a teen in the 1970s when Richard Dawson hosted

There is a video out there if Steve Harvey before and after the show talking to the audience and contestants. He is talking about life and life lessons. His genius really comes through. His insights are amazing.
Family Feud has been on tv on for ages with various hosts. Steve is a standup comedian so he’s quick witted with jokes.
There are so many brilliant clips from Family Feud. My favorite thing is when he says a contestant's answer without fully processing it and realizing he just said "balls" on national TV and TH-cam.
They have so many of these. There are some where it’s over the years with different hosts, but in my opinion Steve has the best reactions.

Also, there is somewhere in America (I can't remember where, I learned about it probably a decade ago) that was renamed after an influential resident of the town. His name? Harry Baals. The news anchors talking about it with straight faces is extremely impressive.

Steve Harvey was a successful stand up comedian before he was a TV host. Other then Family Feud he has a daytime talk show called "The Steve Harvey Show". It's really funny! If you want to see his stand-up comedy then rent the movie called "The Original Kings of Comedy". It's hillarious!!

Steve is a famous comedian & comedic actor which he use to Host Showtime at the Apollo which was a early talent show at the famous Apollo Theater in Harlem NYC, he had the Steve Harvey show, Little Big Shots, Miss Universe, he now has family feud & Judge Steve where he listenes to complaints & fixes them like Judge Judy. I love it when he tries to pronounce some of the longer difficult names is hilarious. Family Feud is on a few times everyday here on many channels. We have TV show called America's Funniest Home Videos & America's Funniest Animals which ate hilarious like these. 👍 💜🙏😍😄🇬🇧🇺🇸

I have this one friend that used to come over back in high school. After he left my mom asked me "what was his name again?" and then she said. "it looked like he had two mice on his forehead" hahah
I first saw Steve Harvey when he regularly hosted the TV talent/variety show, "Live At The Apollo"; the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York.
My favorite was "If Santa Claus was sick, who would deliver presents for him?" One answer left, two strikes trying for it, and the gal goes bonkers saying "It's gotta be the Easter Bunny - they're tight like that!" Steve is already crossing to the other family when he submits the answer and DING there it is. He just flings the card into the air and gives the audience the most perfect "What the heck do I know?!?" expression.

From my perspective, when Richard Dawson hosted "Family Feud" I was surprised that he had the time to do that and be in "Hogan's Heroes"! I wasn't really sure about the comedy being reruns, maybe. 🤔

Family Fortunes is based on Family Feud, with it first airing in 1980, while Family Feud aired in 1976. Also Family Feud has been airing continously since 1976, and Fortunes was off the air for 18 years before just coming back in 2020

One of my favorite points was with the prior US host, it may have happened a couple times but was very rare. At the end the bonus round the first family member got enough point to win, so he just made up impossible/joke questions for the second person.
I've seen a couple of those clips. Ray Combs, the host from 1988 to 1994, seemed to enjoy it. There was one time where the same person got 200 all by herself twice. It didn't work the second time because the other person had a glance at the score after coming out of the soundproof booth.

Steve stalls on purpose, if he didn't play around and pause for 5 minutes without saying anything half the time, this game would only take 5 minutes to play.
Example: the very first one lol he wasn't surprised at all, the questions are set up to get this response to make the game longer
Pausing and answering is how I usually watch shows like this and 8 o' 10 cats does...

Steve Harvey is a stand-up comedian who has a nationally syndicated radio show, had a sitcom for 4 or 5 yrs and a talk show. I am always watching "The Kings of Comedy" movie because the Sister O'Dell joke is priceless. Amazon Prime was listing it for free, but I don't know anymore
