    I Firstly want to say great review! You definitely have "the gift of gab" so to speak. From a technical standpoint you struck a good balance. You were also thorough and it was delivered well!
    Now, about the off-road capability of the Yume Hawk. You got that one a bit twisted. Firstly, I would say that I picked up on the fact that during your test ride it was a bit harsh and bumpy. I don't know if you said your weight but the Coil-Over Springs alone not even including the additional resistance to compression of the Hydraulic Pistons is rated at 2000lbs. This is so it can withstand the way heavier riders between 240 to 280lbs in order to combat the scooter doing a lot of "bottoming out" which is not only unpleasant and does not make for enjoyable riding, bit it brings on undue pressure where the shocks mount to the scooter and make it prone to brake at the worst possible moment. What this does is definitely makes it quite a bit stiffer for anyone under 200lbs. This requires that the rider would use a Spanner Wrench and back off the Spring Seat Bolt as much as is necessary to soften up that Coil-Over Spring Pre-Load. Hopefully, depending on how light the rider is, will provide some relief from the stiffness of the suspension. Also, adding some rider weight with a backpack and riding supplies can help too. In addition, the Coil-Over Springs are going to be stiffer for the first 50 to 100 miles depending on the rider weight and how rigorous the riding is during the "break-in" period. It's possible that if one cannot back off the stiffness enough by the Spring Seat Bolt adjustment that they would need to purchase 2 Springs rated at 1500lbs in order to dial in the correct spring stiffness! Then another thing to do is slow down that Rebound when transitioning to Off-road the riding. The Hydraulic Piston portion of that shock has two phases of operation; the Compression phase and the Decompression phase. The Compression phase is fixed and metered to compress at a median rate that should suffice for most riding circumstances. But, the rate of Decompression, during the Decompression Phase of the Hydraulic Piston's operation is not fixed but is adjustable by way of the Red Adjustment Knob on the end of the shock. For smoother riding surfaces it should be set a bit on the on faster side. This optimizes the shock response for that kind of surface riding. Now, as for Off-road riding in which it is typically much more bumpy and the wheels are constantly and rapidly responding to repeated immediate demand to rise and fall at the ever changing surface, the "Rebound" setting should be set to a slower setting. Setting the correct rate at which the Piston will decompress allows the tire to be in contact with the surface as best possible without creating a hazardous bouncing effect. It also makes the ride a great deal smoother.
    I almost forgot... Dropping the tire pressure down as much as possible to a point that does not cause issues from just running with too low a tire pressure will add a lot of give as well, making the ride much more smooth and enjoyable!
    If you watch Amped Treads channel you will see that he almost exclusively rides off-road and I mean, very rough and technical off-roading! After over 1000miles his Hawk was going strong. The idea is that the Hawk was a fantastic off-road E-Scooter for him in his extensive and rigorous use of it for that purpose, so yes it is an off-road monster!

    I've got around 250 miles on the Hawk now, it is a very fun scooter. You should definitely try the trigger throttle, it's so much more comfortable than the horizontal thumb throttle, it's placed upside down under the right brake so your finger rests practically at the holding position when at full throttle. I would love if they allowed customizable acceleration speed, the app and controller software is quite limiting tbh, I'm hoping they would bring more updates to the scooter's software pairing, and I wish they would let you turn off password unlock, it's not very secure. I also found the rubber cables to tend to rub against the stem exit and the steering damper. Also, I've been emailing Yume support, they aren't very cooperative on a couple of things, like the electronic braking. The Hawk is apparently not supposed to come with regenerative braking but it does have some sort of electronic braking, though I am quite certain it is regenerative because they don't work when you're over around 80% battery. Support keeps telling me the Hawk doesn't have regen, and it kinda just feels awkward cuz the ebrakes don't always engage, and they tend to stop abruptly when reaching low speeds, I wish it could be configured, which brings me back to the point that they should have better software, or at least an API for development since this scooter is definitely for people who know a little electronics and engineering, it is pretty difficult to maintain.

      Sorry, can't tell by your comment if you like the scooter or not. Do you recommend it?

      @trp ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dabby724 Depends, I'm not disappointed by the performance you can get for the price, but if you're looking for something with more refined app control or customization, this wouldn't be for you. I would recommend it if you are good at self servicing, it's an amazing value scooter. You might find yourself annoyed with a bunch of minor details, but the overall performance is top tier.

    • @Dabby724
      @Dabby724 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@trp Appreciate the response! Yeah for me I just want something that rides well, is durably well made, doesn't wobble at high speeds, and comes equipped with safety lights. App control isn't a huge priority to me, although have to admit, it would be nice. I'm no mechanical engineer but I do know my way around the wrench a lil bit, so overall sounds like a scooter I'd enjoy. 😅

      @trp ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dabby724 depends on your luck, you might get a product with slight defects, slight issues with the cable fittings, the tires, etc. And they won't be very helpful to you if the problem isn't obvious. you can't buy replacement cables for some reason, maybe if you ask support but idk

    if you want to capture the displays without flashes, play with the frames per second settings of your camera. You always want to be at the same refresh rate, or factors of 2 as the display you are filming. You probably wont find much info on the scooters display, but most displays run at 24, 30, 50, 25 or 60 fps. trying those first 3 should be sufficient, as 60 is 2x30 and 50 is 2x25

    33:54 it might've been worse than expected because of the fact that the suspension wasn't set good for off-road since it's adjustable for street and off-road, but it might be just bad in ovaral for off-road. I was just dissapointed because the on yume's website (on the page where you can buy the hawk) it says that it's really good for off-road.
    (edit: it also might've just been because of the tires since they also have special off-road tires on their website)

    37:03 Bonjour a vous"
    Je viens d'acheter ce modèle 👌.
    J'aimerais savoir ci vous avez réussi a la brider au niveau de la vitesse ? ,car en France nous sommes contraints de rouler a 25km/h par apport a la réglementation😢... .
    Et j'aimerais savoir aussi ci il y a un régulateur de vitesse comme sur beaucoup d'autres scooter ,car sur celle ci ,je n'est pas réussi a le mettre en activation pour pouvoir rouler sans garder le doigt sur la gâchette d'accéllération.
    Merci a vous pour ce test👌et pour une éventuelle réponse de votre part🙏.

      Bonjour a vous: je suis rentré dans le display avec le manuel et je n'est pas trouvé le p,,,, qui correspond au régulateur.
      J'ai contacté Yume et malgré que la Trott a l'étiquette marqué 25km/h, elle n'est pas bridé constructeur et dans l'application aucun parramètres ne permet de régler les vitesses pour quand 3eme elle plafone à 25.
      Donc j'espère qu'ils vont faire une mise à jour.
      Dommage car c'est une super Trott.

      Le constructeur yume ma certifié que la seule solution et de rouler en vitesse n'1 pour ne pas être au delà des 25hm/h ,donc pas de possibilités dans les parramètres,seul solution est la fameuse bride via la télécommande avec le boîtier mais cela n'est pas légal,en cas de controle sur les rouleaux , l'addition est salé...: la trottinette va à la fourrière et l'amende peut être de l'ordre de 1500€ et surtout ,il faut pas avoir un accident car l'assurance après expertise ne couvre rien ci la vitesse légal a été dépassé.
      J'espère franchement que Yume va rectifier le tir en faisant une mise à jour via l'application pour ne pas être en défaut vis a vis de la loi car j'adore cette Trott.
      Le top serait de pouvoir l'utiliser en toutes l'égalité en agglomération via le bridage et de pouvoir ce faire plaisir sur routes privées car elle est performante ,par contre ,attention au gidonage en déssélèration au delà de 50 km/h ☝: il faut mettre l'amortisseur de direction au max et être prudent et surtout bien s'équiper pour apprivoiser la Belle😉.
      Tu me dira ci tu trouve de ton côté une solution.
      En tout cas je ne regrette pas mon achat pour le prix elle défi toute conccurence avec tout ce qui a dans le carton🥇👌.
      Profite bien et prudence a toi🙏.
