I like this too. I may steal this idea for my channel. But yes, clothing is oversaturated and I try to avoid it. But when I go to rummage sales & thrifts, that's about all they have in abundance. My clothing is selling slowlyyyy, I think buyers are holding tight to their money because of the FED moves. I avoide Levis like the plague unless it's less than $1, then I can take it to consigners.
@ 14:33 “this is an as$ item “ 😂😂😂 I really love your honesty. It’s so refreshing to see someone in it for the business end. I can tell how unimpressed you are with fashion. It’s hilarious and I really dig your transparency. I’m new to this and I’m learning a lot from you. Thank you
Loved the title. A couple more videos of this kind would be nice to watch. Shows your thought pattern of why you selected the item and what can I do to make it more noticeable. Thanks again for another informative video.
Yesterday, I went through my old listings to do some "pruning" and lo and behold, I got two sales from my efforts the next day! The two items were over nearly six months old so I delisted and listed them again with a lower competitive price, and I made the sales! What was hot six months ago may be a stale item today so it's important that you go back and reduce the prices to get them out of your inventory! At least get your initial investment back to reinvest it for new inventory.
I need to do a little End and Sell Similar too. It always helps. Tomorrow is Friday, and I always make it my biggest listing day of the week to maximize my weekend sales. I find this also works to boost sales.
@@craft-o-matic399 - After my posting my comment above, more sales came in from delisting and relisting my stale items! Relisting gave my items new lives because they were so old they were probably pushed to the bottom where no one saw them!
Halston was a designer back in the 70s Studio 54 days (there is a recent movie made about him and Billy Joel mentions him in his song Big Shot). If I remember correctly, things took a turn for the worse and his brand was picked up by JC Penney
I have a Columbia PFG vented shirt also - exactly like yours in an XL and its been sitting here for about three months now. Really thought it would go quick!
Bullet Club is still popular, but the wrestler Marty Scurll who's behind Villain Enterprises is now a "semi-canceled" wrestler so for the shirt to not sell is understandable.
Always look forward to your videos. Couple thoughts. A Chicos 0.5 is pretty tiny, like a 2-4, and outside of your area most American women aren't that small, especially after most of us gained some after the pandemic lockdowns. I've noticed the sizes that sell are getting bigger and bigger. Also, you had a short sleeved shirt that I believe was a fishing shirt. My husband, a fisherman, has told me most guys don't care for short sleeves, according to him, they don't protect your arms from the sun. Anyway those are my two thoughts. This was a great video, good luck on WhatNot!
Good point. I have some Chico's .5 size that have been sitting for awhile. Most older American women are not .5 and I think Chico's targets that age range.
Chicos pants likely haven’t sold due to color and size. I sell mostly women’s clothes. Chico’s size small and below are a hard sell for me. Red/burnt orange …always difficult.
Thank you for sharing what has not sold it is so nice to see that i am not the only one that has piles of stuff that :)does not sell..thank you for always keeping it real
Chico's pants: anything colored orange for me sits forever or is still here. No matter how many times retailers try to introduce it it just doesn't do well. Also, Chico's is just sliding down on the desirable scale. I've got a couple of pieces here that never sold. Used to be an absolute sure thing but I think the hype for that brand is gone never to return.
Totally agree. I even (begrudgingly) am giving Chico’s a last chance by buying a size XL 100% white linen roll up sleeves no-iron blouse 💁🏼♀️ and if that bad boy doesn’t sell…nothing will.
I've have a really nice pair of Chico's pants and they've been sitting here for about five months now and I really thought they would go quick! I have them listed at $14.95 now.
For the vintage deadstock California tees, you could try using key words like “coconut girl” I’ve had a couple of pieces like those that I used coconut girl as a key words & they got a lot of attention & offers on all platforms that I sell on. Within a week, they sold!
What's your process for killing listings on Ebay to sell on another venue? I am seriously considering opening a brick and mortar store with inventory that doesn't present well online. Like those things that have to be seen and felt to be appreciated or are absent a well known label. A recent health discovery is prompting me to do this, rather than storing items in an off grid cabin/loft which is half an hour from the nearest post office. I have had an antique booth with vintage clothing in a high end location previously, It was just too far from my off grid cabin. I'd love to also sell coffee and pastry.
Yes! Why hasn’t that Roberto Firenze gone?! This is an amazing thing. Love the style. There needs to be a platform for stylish items that isn’t Depop. My issue with Depop is mostly people promoting the ugly ass clothes we wore in the 00’s. It was cheap and tacky and poorly made. There needs to be a platform that isn’t like Kumbaya Etsy, but sweet vintage finds. 💁🏼♀️ I know…I know…no one asked. P.S. often I go to the bins I’m usually the last man standing from the people who show up first-mostly because that’s when I find the finds because they pick out the things I don’t buy and I always see the menswear items you have mentioned. I just have a certain focus in my business, so I think of you and others and do hope that other people who are in the know are picking it up.
I audited my inventory to get outdated stale items out, bundled a bunch of women's same size items as a last ditch effort to make some sales. I'm trying to source smarter & since I only sell on Poshmark Canada 🇨🇦 .... Which pretty much blows this year. Anyway it felt good to reorganize &: reevaluate a bit.🙂💗
Great video topic! Clothing these days is a much harder sell on ebay and poshmark for sure. It's a crazily oversaturated market with not a very fruitful return on investment. Back when people were getting stimulus checks it was a different story. So much work involved with so little profits these days.People are buying more needs at this time than wants. I definitely wouldn't rely on the resell game as a full time these days. Good luck to all!
I love your sarcastic demeanor. "Lowkey they were miiid." I've always been into vintage but started selling it in the more recent years and I can't stand the general way vintage resellers and collectors talk or the "hype" words they use. This is GASSS
Good point. I go brand, size, special detail then fill 80 characters but with no name or highly saturated, prolly need to promote so buyers will see listing.
I just picked up a pair of nwt Romeo Hunte/Tommy Hilfiger hybrid unisex pants. I’m on EBay but I feel it’s not the best platform to list them on. Where would you list these? Thank you for your hard work and your willingness to share valuable information
clothing bubble has popped, over saturated niche and ebay is banking on sellers to increase the promotion fees. Good video, I like that you are showing that not all stuff will sell.
Since you did this video, if you leave it listed for 2 weeks, maybe someone is now interested and will go looking in your store. Maybe interesting, I saw 2 items myself🤷♀️🤷♀️❤ Very informative video, thank you Matt!😊
I have a bunch of 5.11 Tactical and Columbia PFG. Just sat mocking me all.summer.long. No interest. As an aside, now this is me flipping thru racks at the thrift... "ass.....ass.....ass....suckass...."
As a coda to my long-winded comment above, 5.ll is a guy’s brand, the chick-stuff I’ve sourced doesn’t really sell well. The few pieces I’ve stumbled upon sit a long time, even NWT…
Seems to be the sizes. Mediums and Smalls size people enjoy shopping. Larger sized people don’t enjoy shopping as much OR know what they want and it’s not available in stores anymore.
Are you having profitable results in whatnot to be putting mire time into whatnot?? I’ve been trying 😢not results yet and my eBay store was dying as well!!!
I started about 3 months ago "revisiting" listings that were ending on that day If they are older than 90 days I end tweak and sell similar Doing this I catch errors; get rid of "ass brands" lol but my sales are up on those items My 511 Tactical is not selling either; not sure what that deal is
5.11 is one of our top bread/ buttah brands, always will be. Moving from SW Wisc to the “central region” in the country of TX 2 yrs ago, we had to leave behind the plethora of Packers, Harley, & Allen Edmonds (and a garage-sale culture state-wide that bordered on a religious cult), but gained down here the unneeded, seasonally-inappropriate discards from dislocated Ft.Hood folk, western-wear garments & footwear, and “tactical” related, most especially 5.11, which is nearly ubiquitous here! Sure, it doesn’t sell for what it used to but still, as it always has, turns quickly for a decent profit. Most of the time it’s also in excellent condition, purchased w/ good intentions but was hardly used.
Can you please provide the names of your Poshmark and eBay pages? I have tried looking for your TH-cam name but no luck. Would love to look at your stores. Thank you
Bruh, my offerup is so dead lol. Ebay is decent. I don't do refunds nor do I do free shipping though. Nor do we do promotion listings lol. The ebay Algorithm is probably dinging me a lot on those two options. I don't really sweat if our items stay on ebay for a while. I try to sell to people who NEED an item and don't market so much to someone who WANTS an item ya know.😉
I’m looking into Haulsale as option to lot my no-interest items to recoup my investment plus maybe a bit of profit. Fairly new site - i like the business model better than some of the other options. Will let you know if it works for me.
Your Villain Enterprises Bullet Club shirt hasn’t sold because the wrestler it’s associated with, Marty Scurll, got exposed as a creep during the Me Too scandals. That’s going to be a loss, bud. Sorry.
Yeah, those 5.11s are at $17 + ship right now according to ebay. Everything is going down in price now due to the economy and ebays inherent need to promote "race to the bottom" mentality.
I love this! I appreciate “what sold” videos but there are almost no TH-camrs talking about what doesn’t sell.
I like this too. I may steal this idea for my channel. But yes, clothing is oversaturated and I try to avoid it. But when I go to rummage sales & thrifts, that's about all they have in abundance. @@kevinp8108 Excellent! Congratulations!
I would have picked up that studded vest too, cool piece
Halston was a designer back in the 70s Studio 54 days (there is a recent movie made about him and Billy Joel mentions him in his song Big Shot). If I remember correctly, things took a turn for the worse and his brand was picked up by JC Penney
You could turn this type of video into a What Not show. Open the stale bin and sell stuff straight out of it.
Some of those vintage items would do well on Depop . Depop is becoming my top site since Poshmark keeps screwing with everything
This was a solid video, and that is quite a wall of varying containers. Also your haircut looks great!
Thanks B0B.

Awesome stuff brother! I do 40-60% markdown sale for any items over 120 days old.
Chicos pants likely haven’t sold due to color and size. I sell mostly women’s clothes. Chico’s size small and below are a hard sell for me. Red/burnt orange …always difficult.
Love your honesty. Chicos has slowed down a bit esp if a smaller size. Consider relisting these because the color is a good fall color.
Loved this video concept!
Two years ago you said you never go to the bins - now it’s all you do 😉
I’d love a series of this
this is a great style of video. i love your realistic approach.

I decided to promote my listings and made quit a few sales! It was amazing 🤩
Can you talk about how you source for Whatnot and how you profit more from that?
clothing bubble has popped, over saturated niche and ebay is banking on sellers to increase the promotion fees. Good video, I like that you are showing that not all stuff will sell.
Are you going to do Poshmark Live?
This has been great. Glad you did this.
So, you generally don't do any end-sell-sim or run any sales on older items?
My PFG sold slow this summer
Since you did this video, if you leave it listed for 2 weeks, maybe someone is now interested and will go looking in your store. Maybe interesting, I saw 2 items myself🤷♀️🤷♀️❤ Very informative video, thank you Matt!😊
Interesting show format, probably a better learning experience than the haul videos.

BTW do you know that POSH is going "live" like Whatnot?
This title cracked me up 🤣
Me too!!
Same here!
Your issue with the Chico’s linen pants is probably the size. Larger sizes 3+ do better for me.
Yes, Chicos 0.5 is a size small or size 4-6.
Interesting, but most of the time it’s price and color or patterns that make or break the sale.
Interested in the Gilly Hicks hoodie
As usual a good video
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Great video concept!
PFG doesn't sell high as $30 these days. Easily find new PFG at Marshalls lower than $20.
Better to just lower price without relisting or should I sell similar & relist at a lower price?

Do you promote, and if so, at recommended rate or at a higher rate? I know, "depends."
You look fabulous
Last yeaar i sold DOZENS of Columbia PFGall are under $20, this year I sold 1. All are under $20
the cali tourist shirts are $3 at the beach shops,, reminds me of my not so thoughtful buys
I sold my long sleeve Columbia Omni shade for 18.99
Can you please provide the names of your Poshmark and eBay pages? I have tried looking for your TH-cam name but no luck. Would love to look at your stores. Thank you
Hey Matt, keep that blue shirt and wear the hell out of it. It would look look fabulous on you
Wow, love this video! After awhile you just have to donate.
I don't buy Nike or Columbia, both are over saturate and they sit forever in my store.

The Villain Marty Scrull was accused of sexual assault and is pretty much done with major promotions.
Nice hair cut. I just cleaned some worthless shit out of my closet too. 🌈
Chicos sell better in size 2 or 3. Size 0.5 are more difficult because women who buy chicos want larger sizes
Great idea for a vid

Did you list the box on eBay?
Chicos in small sizes kind of sucks
Check out that great new haircut, très sexy. (I sometimes use French.)
