Goldi's relationship with her Mama Bear hits the most. When Mama Bear told her that they will fulfill Goldi's wish even if it meant that she will be gone from their bear family, that is pure love of a mother, a love of a parent. I have shed a tear a lot of times watching this film, and I say that moment when Goldi told her true wish is one of those times.
I think this movie can also be dubbed as a good introduction for Goldi to be part of the Dreamworks pantheon lol.
I know we have the 3 bears cameo in Shrek, but we know how it ended up for that mama bear

Usually I don't think about fairy tales as basic as Goldilocks, but after watching the movie I reflected on it and came to 3 conclusions:
    1) "The bears adopt Goldilocks" is a fresh and genuinely compelling twist on the story, especially when the only other three twists that jump to mind are "the bears eat Goldilocks", "the bears escort Goldilocks back to her parents" and "the bears call the cops on Goldilocks".
    2) Goldilocks being an orphan makes a lot of sense, because her behavior in the original story is *absolutely fatherless*.
    3) Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a deeply ironic story, because Goldilocks acts like a bear while the bears act like humans.

The villains of that movie worked so well because they complemented each other, really.
Death was there for Puss' character arc of accepting his mortality and to give the film the dark tone that the other two could not.
Goldilocks mirrored Puss' lesson of appreciating what you have while serving as a good antagonistic force
And Jack Horner gave us a memorable and hateable villain that we could root to see defeated by the end while giving a lot of dark comedy with his sheer sociopathy.
They all helped each other make the movie great instead of having the burden of being the antagonist alone

That is why we invented the word antagonist. To be a force against the protagonist but it doesn't mean that they are a straight up villain. Heck literally every major character except Perrito is a bigger "villain" then Goldilocks and her Bear family and this includes Kitty and Puss. Goldilocks could have very easily been the protagonist of this movie if it was told from a different angle.

One of my favourite moments in the entire movie is when the cabin scene very subtly hints at what Goldi's wish is.
When she grabs the fairy tale book, Mama bear says that Goldi used to stare at it for hours. Just that simple use of the word stare instead of read and the page shown makes it clear that she has been dreaming for a fitting family for so long even during her childhood when she first met her adoptive one. A perfect one.
And it gets much better once Goldi and Mama notice the flashback versions of themselves. Showing a young Goldi with the same book. Meaning she has had it with her for a long time and her wish of a perfect family goes back way more then we first thought as her time as an orphan.
But what really makes Goldi such an amazing character in my eyes is when Mama tells her that once she came into their lives everything became just right for them. Seeing herself tug in a sleeping small Goldi who at this point starts to slowly realise that what she wanted all this time truly was right in front of her with the bears. All made that much more beautiful with her holding her adoptive mother's paw with her hand, tears welling up in her eyes.
Individually, the three bear crime family might not be able to hold a candle to Jack Horner or the legendary Death. But I think all four together, they are perfect. And the best iteration the Shrek franchise has put on classic fairy tale characters so far. Truly an amazing part of an amazing movie.

Death isn't doing his job here though. He's explicitly breaking the rules and trying to murder someone over a petty grudge. That's evil, or at least malicious. Death's job is to fairy people to the after life, he's NOT the one doing the killing. It's technically no different from a normal personal killing someone else over a grudge, and it's not really made justifiable just cause he didn't get respect from Puss.

I'll admit, after watching this movie a few times I realised, maybe Goldie wouldn't have such a complex about being adopted if Baby didn't keep bringing up the fact that she's not his sister, not a bear, an orphan etc. during their arguments/sibling banter. That would give anybody doubts about belonging. You can almost argue that Baby's reaction to her real wish, while mostly out of heartbreak could also count as an "Oh God what have I done?" moment and one of the reasons why he still choses to help her.

Lobo(wolf)/Death the straightforward awesome scary villain with a sense of honor, Big Jack Horner the funniest pure evil baster you love to hate, then there is Goldilocks the sympathetic villain redeem herself by accepting her current family, and no one is wasted all have ''just right" amount of time. Of all three villains in that film, Goldilocks is the most relatable and sympathetic and is both fun and heartwarming to see how she interact with her bear family especially with Mama bear. And is really satisfied to see Goldi learnt her lesson and embrace her family.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears are more of a rival group then actual villains. When they first appeared they just wanted to hire a Puss as a thief and they only became enemies because the wishing star was too valuable to put a price on it.
Also Puss and Kitty never actually took the job offer so no one was betraying anyone, other then jack turning someone into a gold statue but that's just Big Jack being evil.

The two times I teared up in the movie were both scenes with Goldi and her Bear family. One was in the cabin, with Mama bear saying that's when they got their just right, and the other being the big reveal of Goldi's wish. Despite knowing her desire for a "real" family, Mama bear let's Goldie know that if THAT is what she wants, she'll get her it, albeit with tears in her eyes.
Also what's notable is that with the stand-off scene, when Mama bear lands, she says "That's Goldi's wish". Perfect example of a Mother's love for her daughter, although the daughter hasn't realized that her family has been there all along

Puss: wanting to fix his own mistake and realizing he doesn't need the wish to do so
Kitty: wanting the wish and getting it during the adventure so there is no need for the wish anymore
Goldielocks: desperately wanting something she always has and only realizing it at the end
Purrito: need the wish but doesn't want it
Jack: already has everything and does not need the wish but he wants it because he just wants everything
pretty sure those are all possible results from this kind of adventure

I REALLY hope Goldilocks and the bears get their own film, because there's a lot Dreamworks can work with with these characters. classic villain - jack horner

    conflict creator - kitty softpaws

I actually think Goldie is one of the best representations for an adopted child there is. A lot of adopted kids still feel or yarn for their birth parents when they are younger even up to their teens, even if their adopted parents have been nothing but loving and perfect. Her story was such a wonderful story.
Mama bear was such an unexpectedly amazing character and you can see it early on when they fall and she screams Goldie’s name and envelops her to protect her but the moment she said they were still going to get her, her wish honestly made her one of the best mother characters ever

Goldilocks is indeed the Sympathetic Villain, the kind of antagonist you can sympathize with becuz her motives are understandable and are what we can relate to, empathize with, and understand. The Book of Fairy Tales was a library book she enjoyed from the orphanage she came from, and the fairy tale in it that she clearly read and took inspiration from, with the illustration of a little girl with her parents upon which she clearly doodled to make the girl look like herself, a visual representation of her heart's desire for her own family.
Then, she became the fairy tale we all know her as, and instead of being scared off, as it was in the fairy tale, Goldi was adopted and became part of the Three Bears' family, a stroke of genius in my opinion, and a very creative alternate take on the fairy tale, which I think would have been nicer.
Now, clearly the family dynamic between Goldi and the Three Bears is comical, mixed in with some drama, but there are true and sincere moments where they really feel like a family in the times they spend together and aren't arguing with each other or Goldi duzent get frustrated with them. As we saw, her most stormy relationship was with Baby Bear, her adoptive brother, but Baby would typically remind Goldi that she's an orphan and even go as far as to deny her as a sister, for which he got admonished by his folks. Being adopted into a family of bears would have been difficult enough but one of them denying her, reminding her she's not a blood-relation as well as a different species, that would surely hurt Goldi and make her more insecure about her place, make her feel like an outsider even when Mama and Papa clearly showed they love and regard her as their daughter.
So, once she gets older and takes leadership of the family when they turn to crime (not sure how that happened), Goldi eventually hears about the Wishing Star and sees it as her chance to finally be with her birth family, but she keeps the real plan to herself while emotionally manipulating and lying to her adoptive family, saying the wish will be for them all. As the movie goes on, she gets more frustrated but the Wishing Star both subtly and not-so-subtly hints to Goldi that what she wants she already has, even when the proof is laid out in front of her. But she's just too blinded and obsessed by what she wants, what she thinks will make everything "just right" as it was for the little girl in the fairy tale book that sowed the seed of her desire. When she finally fesses up and tells them what she wants, even tho the Bears are heartbroken they still love and care for her enough to help her get the wish if it's what she truly wants and will make her happy.
But when Goldi gets the chance she's been waiting for, she sees Baby in danger, and despite a brief hesitation and temptation, she passes up the wish to save her brother from his doom, and then helps Puss and Kitty destroy the Map so that Jack Horner can't get his wish.
Like u said, it concludes with Goldi, sitting on her father's lap, her mother and brother beside them, Baby on the verge of bawling as he is grateful and now truly regards Goldi as his sister, and Goldi finally understanding that what she wanted she'd had all along, and now that she gets that, everything really is... just right.
Goldi and the Three Bears' story in this film was heartwarming and instructive, that Family isn't perfect, that Family is not tied together by blood but rather Family is tied together by love. The writers wrote this film well, as did they wrote the stories of all the characters and balanced them out so that everyone would get their story told w/o overshadowing each other's, fulfilling their roles and weaving them all together into a great story!
The film ends with Puss, Kitty, and Perrito off to find new adventures "and see some old friends", but I think, out of all the characters in this film, other than Puss, Kitty, and Perrito, Goldi and the Three Bears should absolutely get their own movie! Whether as a prequel regarding how they became a family in greater detail, a spin-off of them on their own adventures, or even an indirect sequel of what happened to them after this film, I would love to see Goldi and the Bears in their own film, having another adventure or quest, all the while being this amazing family they proved themselves to be, especially to Goldi herself

She's just looking out for herself and that is a fully human thing to do, which is why the bears don't understand it at first. Also I loveddd seeing a good strong relationship between a (adopted) Mother and Daughter in a fairytale story.
