After about a thousand times of watching this video to sleep, it struck me today that Diana is using Alexander principles for her own posture the entire duration of the video! Even when she's bending to adjust Gita's posture, she doesn't break the holy head-neck-back Trinity! Mind. Blown.
I genuinely hope Diana is getting this ad revenue even though she's never reposted, and not just TH-cam. Diana deserves the few grand she's earned from just this one video.

I find that one component of successful ASMR is that the person is very much themselves. I often feel mesmerized and tingly when I'm with people who are fully at ease with who they are, especially if the way they are is safely intimate, like Diana. Some people might feel uncomfortable with her gentle vulnerability, or even feel like they should laugh or mock. But Diana is so genuine that one could never really do that. Which leaves only the option of getting swept up in her intense belief in the seemingly wispy concept of the Alexander technique. Which is not at all to denigrate the technique. Quite the opposite, really. Diana is modeling the importance of something so slight being so very important. Maybe that's another good definition of ASMR. Making something as simple as standing up and sitting down the center of the universe for fifteen minutes.
Ive watched this so many times for ASMR purposes, and a biproduct of watching it so much is that ive actually started paying attention to the "alexander technique" in my daily posture...

Darren Thornberry That one, with Jane Kosminsky, is also ASMR gold. I have neck &upper back issues sometimes, so I found that video while looking into Alexander Technique. I stayed for the tingles.
I watched that video, but it made me cringe so hard; he seemed so uncomfortable. That bit where she gives him a direction and asks if he can feel the difference, and you can clearly see him starting to say "no", then catching the microscopic cue from her and promptly changing his answer to "oh yes, completely different, 100%" was a particularly low point.
Its been so long since i watched this. Haven't thought about it in aaages and suddenly just get this random and inexplicable but overwhelming urge to find it and watch it again. This woman's rambling about freeing your neck and what appears to be a Master's in Advanced Sitting is so completely absurd, just utter nonsense that I could not go another day without hearing.

I know this is an old comment, but I just wanted to let you know that, 3 years on, I still have no idea how to do Alexander Tachnique, or even see a difference in regular vs AT.
ASMR creators take notice. No gimmicks/tapping/tongue clicking etc. Just speaking naturally and great personal attention.

Isnt it so fascinating how someone's voice has the same neural response in millions of people around the world? Clearly there is something in our brains which responds to something unexplainable in this woman's voice that we havnt tapped into yet .

I watch this daily for the voice. Today I youtubed "alexander technique" to see what else is out there and I found another one featuring actor William Hurt (not kidding), which was intriguing, but I immediately felt shame for cheating on this video. And now I'm back here where I belong.
Darren Thornberry That one, with Jane Kosminsky, is also ASMR gold. I have neck &upper back issues sometimes, so I found that video while looking into Alexander Technique. I stayed for the tingles.
I watched that video, but it made me cringe so hard; he seemed so uncomfortable. That bit where she gives him a direction and asks if he can feel the difference, and you can clearly see him starting to say "no", then catching the microscopic cue from her and promptly changing his answer to "oh yes, completely different, 100%" was a particularly low point.
Its been so long since i watched this. Haven't thought about it in aaages and suddenly just get this random and inexplicable but overwhelming urge to find it and watch it again. This woman's rambling about freeing your neck and what appears to be a Master's in Advanced Sitting is so completely absurd, just utter nonsense that I could not go another day without hearing.

This lady's voice is exquisite. Both timbre and clarity. It's what used to be called 'educated Australian'-you hear it less and less now unfortunately. I hope she make more clips. :-)
She sounds to me like an Anglo South African who has lived in Australia for a long time....but you may be right. She does have that educated Australian pronunciation which can be found in older generations of Aussies who had private education.
You might be right as well. I remember so many people speaking like that in my younger days, and many used to be on the ABC. Either way I love hearing it again. :-)
I loked her biography up. Born in Tasmania. Teaches in Sydney. So she sounds rather like a South Australian as well. Fascinating.. :)

I actually went to a Alexander technique class after watching this video (500 times). Very pleasant, but the instructor wasn't nearly as magical as Diana. I would LOVE to take a class from her.
