I wrote my PhD thesis on Prof Dr Dr Tillich. Thank you for this clip which has enabled me to hear my teacher. He died a month before I was born.

Theology graduate student Werner Rode insists upon sitting at the feet of the Master, who (at 4:00) insists that his disciple take one of the apples not merely on display on a nearby table.

The apple segment is a wonderful non sequitur, rather like a sloppy or silly cut-away in Reefer Madness, a film in which Professor Tillich played no part.

Tillich may have lost his faith and never dared confess it🙏🏿
A liberal is one who has lost his faith and dare not confess it🙏🏿

David Carpenter Interesting connection. Theology goes liberal and culture does too?
