The players who know how to win big playing mixed games usually share the two key attributes that Phil highlights in today’s poker strategy advice short.
Learning how to win at mixed games comes down to being realistic about your edge in all of the games, not just your favorite and most studied games, while also figuring out how to study all of the games well enough that you can hold your own.
You aren’t going to quickly become a top pro at each of the 8 games your local live poker game runs in its mix, that just isn’t very realistic, but you might become a solid non-losing player in each game if you find a way to efficiently study.

I wish more mixed games were offered in a typical casino- I'd love to play more stud and Hi-Lo.

Who wins the most in ROE, and by extension other types of mixed games? Is it the world class NLH player, is it the Phil Galfond level Omaha player? Well, how do you make money in any table game? You should find players who you have a significant edge on and beat on them until they have no money or quit.
Well in roe, if you are a player who specializes in NLH than half of the hands dealt will have a positive EV which is greater than the edge you’d have at a NLH ONLY table, by the fact that every player there isn’t looking to play only NLH. While the other half of games you’ll probably be a break even or negative EV player. The edge gained by half of the game you know is almost never double the edge you’d have on a single game table, which is needed to justify this argument if you trying to maximize $/hour, hence why the only reason to consider such games as a specialist is if you are try to maximize bankroll security over BB/hour.
(You can play with a bigger edge in the games you specialize in and can sit out the game you don’t, this reduces risk a ton but reduces profits by at max half depending on the increased edge you have in roe)
To be honest 90% of ROE players are either there since their game doesn’t have a open spot or thinks they can make money with their mastery over one game.
The real way to dominate ROE is to be decent at all of the games. As the saying goes a jack of all trades is a master of none, but will always be better than a master of one.
If you were a NLH player and found yourself on a table with all fish, literally their first time playing the game and suddenly Phil Ivey sits down to play. Would you leave if you were trying to making money? Most likely not, you’d ignore Ivey and target the other players. Same thing applys in ROE most times all of the players are a amateur in one type of the games in ROE. If you can figure out which one that is. You can play 100% of the hands with half of the table being absolute fish and the other half being sharks you can avoid. You only need to have more knowledge in both game than a beginner to the game.
You can have a edge that is so much bigger than the one the specialist has in their own game, since all of those specialists really overestimate their ability in the other game (unless they sit out for the other game) which causes them to hemorrhage money.
Also I’d really like a response to this if you or anyone else disagree
