Good ol' OctaMED... that put a big smile on my face as I watched those familiar rainbow visualizers dancing up and down on each track, while listening to your wonderful music scrolling by. Thank you for the trip down memory lane! :)

The logical next step would be to make a demo with this track, though that requires another skill set being rudimentary 1980s animation. In a way that is you have achieved this with colours bouncing on the amiga screen. I was an Atari freak, so this is all new to me. Very well done.

Thank you! I am interested in playing with some generative animation and have that on my to-do list. You're right, it would really enhance these videos. Particularly with the SID stuff where all I've really got to show is the midisid sitting on the desk!

Those old computers have a definite retro vibe. I like how the Amiga interpolates the samples. It’s really Lofi. I really like the way this came out. Very retro.

It's slightly disconcerting when something you've had from new is now retro / vintage! It's lofi, not because that's an effect we're adding, but because that's the best we had at that time.

Amiga did not interpolate samples on replay. It used an individual sample rate for each of its four hardware channels. It was actually pretty Hifi.

Fab. And it didn't even take a month of Sundays😀

you're right, it didn't. I didn't count the number of hours but a lot of it was spent finding out how to do certain things. Now that I've got a nice little process, the next one will be much quicker.

    2:09 - very attractive, sound ;)

I really like that dull ping too. It gives this whole thing a very clunky sound (I deliberately didn't fine-tune any of the samples for this reason). I'll definitely be using this sample and any other similar ones I can find in some more 'mechanical' sounding music.

Treat yourself to a tube monitor :)

You're right, I should. Obviously I was using CRT when the Amigas were current. After using LCDs for a decades, I recently got hold of a G3 iMac and was blown away by how beautiful the CRT display looked. Sadly it's a trade-off with space and luggability (I've recently switched to an even smaller LCD monitor for convenience)

th-cam.com/video/GrYqMt3-TsQ/w-d-xo.html this guy is using 4 e-ther. Remarkable.

He was also the first that I was aware of to start using e-ther in ways that I hadn't envisioned (I'd just expected it to be played like a theremin). I can't say that I really understand how his plugins work but he's very creative and his music is great.
