People need to start calling uber with their complaints. They will keep playing with your money if you dont speak up!

  • @Redvision101
    @Redvision101 7 ปีที่แล้ว +60

The problem is , they are charging the customer for a 23 mile ride upfront. Then having drivers take a 16 mile route. Uber pockets $6 to $7.00 just because they feel like it. They will toss you over a dark super curvy canyon road in the middle of the night to save 5 miles and pocket some money. All this while the freeway is wide open with very little traffic. Then they intentionally show a totally different rate charged on the electronic recipes. Ask your driver to see the final fair he gets. It pops up in about 2 minutes. It's intentionally delayed to prevent drivers and passengers from comparing. It's done hundreds of thousands of times a day.

Agree, they do this when you are far away from the surge zone when you get the ping. When they do this to me and i I arrive to the pickup location and see large groups of people wairing for rides and i know it has to be surging but the ride is without surge, i cancel and wait for a ping for a trip with a surge.

Unlawful pocketing referral fee from drivers is another legal issue to investigate. If such has been existed, it is a clear breach of contract, a conversion tort, a fraud, a fiduciary duty breach etc. Class action is a must with a huge punitive damage amount to deter the wrongdoer from further challenge against the world justice system.

Most definitely that is true, I drove for Uber for five years and made 11,000 rides, and somewhat recently I discovered they were literally robbing me not paying me for a ride today it made not paying me a fair percentage, not reimbursing me for tolls, and not giving me my tips that were made through the app, when I started Uber used to give a breakdown of the ride, the time picked up, the distance, my percentage and Uber‘s percentage and so on, they stopped at more than a couple years ago, I was a diamond driver and then if I didn’t go out 12 hours or more a day I was being lowered in my ranking down to blue, Uber is a company that has no appreciation for their drivers, and Uber was founded with rideshare and not any of their other enterprises

Investors ( hedge fund managers ) are now controlling the company... After years of losses, they want returns. Can't blame them... As one driver pointed out - many people drive out of desperation. Even more so since drivers are paid so little. A full time driver can earn about $12/hr after fuel. When the depreciation of the car is factored in the job pays about $5 an hour.

  • @mannm950

2022 lyft is a little better than Uber. Uber is taking over 45% from drivers. Even trips that customers cancel, Uber takes from that too. When I started 6yrs ago, they only took money from the ride, any surge ride went to the Dr. Remember these companies works for their shareholders not the driver. Even though the company wouldn't be anything without the drivers.

The difference is Lyft doesn't rip you off so there's nothing to be upfront about. They framed the tail end of that segment almost as if to say "Uber admits that they're robbing their drivers and ripping off their passengers, when is Lyft going to do the same thing?"
The difference is one company is corrupt from the floor up, and the other company is growing sustainably so that they don't have to do that kind of thing.
But it's pretty obvious we've got some Uber bots in here trying to spread the misery around by dragging Lyft into the same lane. If Lyft does the same exact thing, where are the tons of lawsuits that AREN'T accruing on their side as opposed to Uber's?

Just because we can see what Uber takes versus what we get paid as drivers doesn't mean that we agree with it. And we are also not made aware of that before the trip. We are not made aware of what they pay and what we get until after the trip! We highly disagree with what they are doing and what they how much they are taking from us drivers. Uber talks as if we have a choice in the matter, and we don't.

They are desperate . Cutting back on customer service which is the worst in the world , ripping off drivers and passengers? I wanna say this company’s days are numbered but the thing about this business is that there is always someone who is willing to drive . Wgen drivers are too few Uber just raises the incentives so more drivers come back , when they are aback they go back to square one

uber also takes cancellations ... I waited and took screenshots of every minute of me waiting in an area ... low and behold uber says I do not qualify for a cancellation fee .. more drivers should do this and take screen shots .. we can also file a class action suit .. toll reimbursements .. I paid 2.25 they did not want to reimburse me .. that is clear and blatant breach of contract which is illegal .. I need other drivers to help and we can make uber ours ... after all it is ours because uber cannot give millions of rides with the people that work for them on an hourly basis .. we are uber plain and simple

Yep, they did that to me too. Stealing cancellation fees. One time I had a rider cancel and even showed me on his phone that he was charged $5.00 for cancelling. Yet, my payout was zero.
When I reported to Uber that I should have been paid, they lied and said I didn't sit at the pin long enough and therefore wasn't entitled to a cancellation fee. They also lied and said that they didn't charge the rider. Then when I responded and told them that not only did I sit at the pin for 7 minutes before the rider came out to apologise and cancel, but that he also showed me on his phone that he was charged, they responded with their usual copy-and-paste bullshit that "we won't see eye-to-eye on this issue and will be ending the discussion here".
I caught them red-handed ripping me off, caught them lying, and they simply run away and ignore you after that.
No doubt about it, Uber is a group of scammers masquerading as a legitimate company.

    25% - lol - uber usually takes 50% . Sometimes more.
At the end it's bad for the customer. Had a ride bouncing around for 20 minutes 2 days ago- because no one was going to drive for 50c per mile.

uber just increased the price in Australia from $1 per Km to $1.15 to make the drivers happy but also raised their own cut from 20% to 22% for older drivers which makes no different to the drivers but for uber themselve making more money and taking more from drivers but drivers thinking they getting more money

I been looking at the trip wares and they are taking 75% not 25% like they say. Look at the details in the trip. I went from making 250 in less then 8 hrs to pennies on the dollar. If I make 80 for 8 hrs is alot.

Royce Machado - We’re not getting $2.00-$2.25 a mile and $0.35 a minute either. Some markets do require a license for ridesharing also.
