  • Watch me overcome my fear of visiting a new hair stylist while she relaxes my hair with Mizani Butter Blend. Plus, let's chat briefly about this study that allegedly says relaxers cause cancer.
This is Royal Bliss Salon in Alpharetta, GA (a suburb of Atlanta).

Since I went back to relaxed hair about 2 and 1/2 years ago. I’ve started with Affirm and switch beauticians about 8 months ago and she uses Mizani. At this point my hair feels softer with Mizani but that could be because the new beautician use different products after relaxer treatments. I love both relaxers. I switched beauticians because my first beautician irons temperature was way too hot and I would have to constantly ask her to turn them down. Your hair is beautiful ❤

Girl, same. I was over self relaxing, so I started going back to the salon about a year ago. My stylist uses mizani butterblends, and I love it. When I self relaxed I used the mizani no lye sensitive, so she decided to use the butterblends lye version. I was getting the olaplex service as well, but my stylist convinced me to try keratin because it's pretty much the same benefits, plus it allows my semi permanent color to last longer. I get a quick keratin, though, and it only lasts 3-4 months. I've only had one service, but I noticed a major difference in my color lasting. I finally go this week after an unintentional 6 month stretch. Your hair turned out beautifully well. Do you think you're gonna stick with mizani? I know people love the affirm system. Loved the video. 💜

That’s good to know. I need to learn more about Keratin treatments!
I do like the result with Mizani. I’m trying not to be biased but I would prefer the Affirm system.

I have used Mizani since 2012 at the recommendation of a trichologist. I also bring all of my own products to the salon.

Hi Kristen, Your hair looks beautiful. I've been using Mizani butter blend relaxers on my hair for the last 2 years and love the results as others have stated. My previous stylist used Design Essentials , I think I like Mizani more but of course if you have a great Stylist whom you trust with your hair that's "Golden".

Few factors I i notice here , blow drying hair after a relaxer is not recommended. Instead one should have hair roller set . Hair will be healthier and full of body , shine and more bounce . .....which i noticed your hair is flat and no bounce. Unless thats how you wanted it .
A posted conditioning is always recommended to protect and hydrate hair that has been stipped of natural oils and moisture. Deep treatments , olaplex , keratins and serums are highly effective. Clients hair lines / edges are the absolute last place to apply relaxers and especially if you dont want bone straight hand and comb actions along with process time shoukd be greatly limited.
No lye relaxers are not recommended in professional salons for many reasons . They are simply not the best when it comes to conditioning the hair .
Which brings us to the only major factor that separates relaxers are the conditioners that make up these relaxers. Reading and researching the ingredients will tell you a lot and what may work for one client may not work jist as good for another.

    Hi,
I don’t use the mizani at this point, but I will be using in the future when my current relaxer runs out.
My cousin who is a retired hairdresser gave great recommendations on the products. Her hair is long silky and so is her daughter’s. I’ve always loved how she cares for her hair.
I would roller set my hair bcuz I have arthritis and blow drying is a bit of a chore. I have a tendency to wrap my hair around the comb unintentionally of course. I pull it out causing damage in one spot. Going back to the tried and true.

Your hair turned out beautifully! I have had both mizzani butter blend and Affirm relaxers. It's the technique a stylist uses which determine my results. Both products seem to work for me. I noticed you stated you had your ends trimmed 2 weeks ago. Did you have them trimmed again during that service? If not when are you scheduled to trim again. The ends looked great and cut was on point sis!!😃❤

Hi, i really love this video, it was very informative. I am now a new subscriber to your channel. If you don't mind, could you tell me what parts of Atlanta are best and safe to move to? My mother and myself really want to move to ATL but hear so much bad stuff on the news, but the reality is... Not all parts are bad. I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions 🙏
    Thank you
