Munnawar Ali Khan was one of the most outstanding vocalists of his time, but overshadowed by the name and fame of his great illustrious father Ustad bade Ghulam Ali Khan. Listen to the jugalbandis of the father and son eg Kedara and Tilak Kamod, and you are left speechless with admiration. In this rendering of Alahiya Bilawal he switches effortlessly into Gondmalhar, and what a jewel of a piece this is too!! Marvellous.
I have a number of his recordings that I will be uploading. I agree that because Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali was such a larger than life personality, it must have been a little tough for Ustad Munavar Ali to get out of the shadow he cast.
@@vinaypande Fortunately, I downloaded majority of his recordings. Unfortunately, I did not download everything. I never expected it to disappear. I missed out primarily on Delhi Gharana,
@@sadashivnadkarni3811 Thank you for sharing these treasures. I have had the good fortune of communicating with Dr Ashfaq Ahmad. He had a great collection and was very kind and open in sharing recordings. He passed away a few years ago. A kindred spirit! 🙏🙏
@@musafirrahgir3199 I am truly sorry to know that he passed away. He had an amazing collection. He shared it first on esnips and then later on mediafire. Every day, I would check to see what he had uploaded. One day, the whole account disappeared. I never learned what had happened. The world of music lost a true connosseur with his passing.
