I had to laugh because as you arrived on Ocean street the overcast skies were there while I was and so was the dang traffic. On my ride I encountered heavier than normal highway traffic the entire trip. Always enjoy your videos, Josh is doing a great job editing these, stay safe keep up the good work guys.
Lol, yup the fog was on and off all day, but pretty consistent in town during our stay. Traffic wasn't too bad, but there were a handful of slow drivers and some construction from time to time. Thanks for that! We're all having fun learning to shoot and edit in different ways!
Sorry I'm a little late, just keep going I'll catch up. 50 years ago I dated a girl who's parents lived on N. San Antonio Ave, just a few houses away from the entrance to Pebble Beach and the 17 mile drive. At the time I didn't realize what that meant. In any case my girlfriend was moving from Connecticut back to San Jose. We drove from California to Connecticut and back to California in a VW Bug. We were young and had a blast, it was like a moving party picking up hippies along the way and .... well we'll save that for another day. This is my back yard!...sort of. I'm in San Luis Obispo, and regular rides up the PCH to Ragged Point, or Big Sur, or Monterey, is almost routine with us locals. Ya'll can take your Tail Of The Dragon and its puny 11 miles. We got 5 hours of 1000' cliffs, hairpins, peg-scrapers, the Pacific Ocean, and Big Sur hippies! Hopefully, you guys can continue the PCH over the Golden Gate, and north to Oregon. Some of the most breathtaking views and scenery in America.
Awesome ride, unbelievable scenery, bridge was awesome, Gilbert was really hanging it out. Your videos are so great I can get My Wife to watch, and she hasn't ridden me since I took her thought a hail storm.

Another great video. PCH is so beautiful though it's hard to go wrong. No more singing though! LOL. You guys should do PCH north of the Bay. Less traffic and just an incredible ride with quaint little towns like Mendocino and Ft. Bragg all the way up to Leggett.

BTW, I've ridden the PCH a few times. 4, that I can remember. I've ridden from San Diego to Fugit Sound. I'm envious gents. It's a beautiful ride. But in the many times I've ridden it, I've never done it with half class you two did it here. Cool runnings you guys.
Over Memorial day weekend, a friend and I did a loop through Beatty, Tahoe and Monterey. Big Sur was really fogged in which made for some interesting 10 mph curves. it was all great fun though. We were the only ones at the elephant seal beach which was pretty cool. Thanks for always inspiring.

I was just up to the area you did this video from (June 22nd to 2rth). Trip number 15 for me, but did it from returning from Redding to Home in LA County, still say hard to beat the PCH Highway for a excellent ride or tour by auto.
I have made this ride as well as the northern part of PCH above SF, dozens of times in my MC life. Greatest highway in the USA! I wanted to add that the arial view of Bixby Bridge was the end of the opening credits to the 1969 TV series "Then Came Bronson." If you have a chance, stop at the Fernwood Inn in Big Sur, which was the gas stop where Jim Bronson (Michael Parks) & Temple Brooks (Bonnie Bodelia) have their first meeting after Temple runs Bronson off the road a few miles north. The gas pumps were removed in the 1990's. I dropped off some pictures of Bronson, Brooks and the sheriff who was chasing Brooks for speeding, to the management of the Fernwood Inn last summer, hoping they would display them for any motorcyclists that stopped in. However, I just rode PCH last week and checked to see if they were on display........but they weren't. : ( Anyway, I always enjoy your trips with their outstanding video quality and commentary. Keep up the great work!
They likely won't. Remember, Big Sur started as an art colony for those who disliked the normal, and materialistic society. They were the original hippies! Of course, they told everybody about it, and the town grew up into exactly what they ran away from! Since then, they really don't like tourists, and prefer you simply drive past...after you pay for the $4 water and $5 gas... Making a fuss about the TV show, about how it helped make them famous, is not in their crosshairs. Your pictures may be displayed at the Post Office, but I doubt it. There are some weird people in Big Sur.
Yes, it's always had that "hippie" vibe since my first visit in 1971. Even though some of the locals might not like it, they certainly have made it a big money tourist destination. Eating out at Nepenthe's, the Ventana Inn, Fernwood and other establishments will cost you some $$$.......and camping & hotel rates are very pricey! Many of the hippie's of the 60's & 70's turned into the yuppie & tech. generation in the 80's. The era of conspicuous consumption. PCH is their money pipeline. pricelike I've arrived in a special place......which it is. "The most glorious meeting of land & sea." .
great shots guys, been over the Bixby creek bridge several times its always aw inspiering every time ,how about that tunnel they built to keep the hill side from eroding the road .
Although interesting to see, I always thought of Hearst Castle as a bit gaudy for my taste. But my kids enjoyed roaming around the property the last time we were up that way.
