Hololive is a talent agency. Based off of Japan's idol culture and vtubers. Another joke in the community is that instead of being idols its a bunch of comedians. Most of the girls can sing to one extent or another. Suisei and Cali are probably the biggest talents known for their music but almost every talent has original songs as well as covers they've done.
I mean arguably Azki because they made a whole other company for her singing until she was folded into hololive. Towa has also a fantastic simging voice.

Also as others have mentioned Calli and Suisei have done two songs together, CapSule and Wicked. CapSule in particular shows of Suisei rapping alongside Calli.
As I'm sure you will soon learn there are many hololive talents that are amazing singers, though not as many write their own songs like Calli does. Ones that stand out to me musically are Watame (who has done a few songs with Calli), Kanata, Towa, Risu, and Moona. Those last two are from the Indonesian Branch of the agency which often doesn't get the attention it deserves.
I can't recommend Risu's Alice&U enough if you want something that shows off crazy vocal range.
To explain hololive a bit, they are a V-tuber agency (think like a talent agency) that has a higher focus on musical production than most. Live streaming is still the primary day to day activity of most of it's members (usually playing games, just chatting, or doing karaoke) but they put on high production concerts and collectively have a library of well over 200 original songs (all produced with a similar level of polish to the ones you have seen so far) not to mention countless covers across their currently 55 active female talents and 17 active male talents. Their music covers a variety of genres and styles and not all of it might be to your taste but I'm sure you will find plenty to love. And for most of them music is more of a side thing to their streaming, though a few (Calli and Suisei included) have music as their primary focus even though they still stream a lot.
Vtubers are just streamers that use a virtual avatar instead of showing their real self on stream. They typically use face tracking software to have their avatars have realistic movement. Most vtubers don't reveal their identities, but plenty of them do and many were popular already before becoming vtubers. Hololive specifically prohibits their talents from openly revealing their identities, even after leaving the company, but many of them are open secrets within the community, though it's considered rude to discuss directly. Calli for example continues to make music under her old persona as well, which is not a vtuber and openly shows her appearance.

It is an idol agency, but with more focus on streaming than most. Honestly as an idol agency it is poor. Not all their talents are musically inclined and most are known as comedians. Then again, they do show their idolness from time to time.
vtubers are youtubers with a virtual avatar instead of a camera. They used to do skits like youtuber used to, until a certain vtuber changed the meta into streaming, like how youtubers started streaming a bit more.
@@ODDnanref That's why I dont really consider them a full on Idol agency, in hololive being an Idol is a choice rather than a rule and even some of those that do call them selves Idols arent very serious about it. Doesn't really matter to me what they call themselves, I'll still enjoy watching them regardless.

Gawr Gura and Mori Calliope have a great duet called "Q" and there's also Calli's duet with Suisei called "Capsule". Both are worth watching.

The lyrics of this song are heartbreaking to me. Even when I'm not actively looking at the English translation, I start tearing up when I hear it.
One of the best things about the Hololive rabbit hole is that there is something for just about anyone. There will be some talents you love, some you like, and maybe some you don't fully vibe with but you can't help but appreciate and be proud of them regardless. The more you check them out I can guarantee you'll find at least one talent that you really vibe with there.

I really recommend Alice&U by Ayunda Risu, she is from the Indonesian branch of Hololive and she has an absolutely killer control of her voice.
I know a few others have explained, but I'll take my own shot at it: Hololive is a Vtuber talent agency based in Japan, but they also have an Indonesian branch, and an English speaking Branch (which Calli is part of). A Vtuber is basically someone with a virtual avatar, and often times are playing some sort of character to the audience, and there's numerous vtuber agencies and groups out there, but the big 3 if you will are Hololive, Nijisaniji and Vshojo, and they all go about their business in very different ways.
About Hololive specifically: they're heavily rooted in the idol culture of Japan, (though they generally treat their talent a lot better than the average idol agency) and everyone who joins are there for various reasons. Not all of them are amazing singers, a lot of them start out honestly bad-to-ok in terms of technique, but will often learn over the course of them being in Hololive, fx. ones like Amelia Watson, Kiryu Coco and Tsukumo Sana (the last 2 have sadly graduated (in terms you don't know, graduation is what they call retirement for idols, and has become part of Vtuber culture as well, mainly because of how big Hololive have become)).
Also yes, they all know each other, but they don't necessarily all collab, since there's around 50 of them in HoloPro alone now (When I say HoloPro I mean Hololive Productions which includes Holostars, their male branch, who also has a few really good singers, especially Astel, Izuru and Rikka)
And for other songs to react to... There's so many good ones, but I think it could be really cool to see you react to HoloID's Ayunda Risu's song "Alice&U", or Moona Hoshinova's "Ai no Chiisana Uta" as an intro to Hololive Indonesia.
Oh I also completely forgot: most Vtubers avoid showing their real identity for privacy reasons, and I think for the ones part of agencies and companies it's even part of their contract that they can't openly disclose their real identity in an official manner. Though some of them are kinda open secrets, like Calli doing streams still as her old persona on another channel where she does show her real face.
funny thing even being as talented signer suisei was rejected a couple of times by hololive but she worked hard to prove and won the staff over. hololive has great talent underneath all the funny and videos and clips of their talents. right now suisei is taking a break to get her throat fixed (she is badly hurt but its to help her voice). as great as she is she knows she has to take care of her body suisei range is amazing. the more you go in the rabbit hole the more amazing things you will find
@@world4saker Well, the issue with Suisei joining Hololive was that they initially told her she could join, but she had to get a new avatar and name, and she refused, cuz she was already so attached to being Suisei, but eventually she managed to convince them to let her join anyway. Well, she joined INNK first, but that didn't go too well, so Hololive offered to take her in at that point.
Also that's another thing I really like about Hololive as a company, they seem to be very aware about overworking, and are generally ok with letting the girls go on breaks. Hell, Miko had to go away for like, 3 months I think, due to medical issues, and she was welcomed back all the same once she did recover fully and did a 3D concert that at the time was the most watched Hololive stream, I think only beaten out by Coco's graduation.
But about breaks again: they're SO aware of it in fact, sometimes their managers will actually force them to take time off, off the top of my head I remember Fubuki, Watame and Calli talking about their managers doing that with them xD I even remember that Watame was limited to 10 tweets per day during that period too, cuz her manager knew she'd just be spamming tweets otherwise and not actually get any proper rest xD

Ah this used to be my favourite song around when it came out, just hearing it makes me tear up because so much has happened since I first heard this song, it’s like this song flashes all the memories in my mind
Since all the other comments have answered your questions, im just gonna talk about this song in particular instead.
Ghost is Suisei's way of showing us how she perceive the world, her world. She has been struggling from the start, doing everything herself, making excuses to her own heart so that she could keep going on. But even now, at the top of her game, she still felt like she was lying to herself because no matter how bright the stage is, nobody could actually see her since she is virtual, but even so she sang her heart out coursing her voice just like a ghost dancing in the dark. Even if her silhouette was see-through, broken and misshapen.
There was also the part before the final chorus where all the sounds went silent and we can only hear her voice, asking to please find her, can we hear her. A ghost wanting to be found, dancing in the dark trying her best to be noticed.
It really hits the feel exactly because she is the one who wrote the lyrics to it so we know it came from the heart. And if you think this song hits hard, react to Stellar Stellar next because that song slaps the hardest. Composed by Taku Inoue with lyrics from Suisei herself it is without a doubt the hardest hitting song from her lore.

PS: her name Hoshimachi Suisei directly translates to star town comet. That's why there will a lot of reference to stars and comets if you go further down this rabbit hole. And her fans are called hoshiyomi or stargazers. Sui-chan waaaa kyou mo kawaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!
I absolutely love the Holo talents and I cannot recommend them and their music enough. With there being so many of them, their music can vary wildly, but if I had to recommend a few, it would have to be Palette, -Error, and My Roar by Towa, Alice&U by Risu, and High Tide by Moona. My Roar doesn't have a music video to it, but it's such a switch-up from what you'll likely come to expect from Hololive that it's just fantastic; Risu doesn't have too much official music out, but Alice&U is such a great encapsulation of her vocals; and High Tide is just peak diva Moona.
Now, to answer questions about this rabbit hole, V-Tubers are content creators who represent themselves with virtual avatars rather than their real-life image. While some may lean-in to their character and embody their avatars more, some essentially just produce content as themselves. There are thousands of V-Tubers out there, either indie or signed to an agency, but Hololive is one of the top V-Tuber agencies and was one of the strongest driving forces that really blew up and popularized V-Tubing in the west during the pandemic.
So, to get more into Hololive, Hololive Production is a V-Tuber agency owned by Cover Corp - a Japanese tech entertainment company. Hololive was originally started by Tokino Sora, who began streaming in 2017 as the first member of Hololive (JP). Since then, Cover has continued to recruit more and more talents and is now sitting at 57 active Hololive members (the female branch) and 17 Holostars members (the male branch). Hololive is currently split into three branches - hololive (the Japanese branch), hololive Indonesia, and hololive English, and they are all filled with incredibly talented creators.
I don't know how well they'd work as a TH-cam video, but something that I would recommend for just getting a taste of some of the talents are the Digest Movies that the hololive English and hololive Indonesia channels put out for hololive's 3rd festival - Link Your Wish. It was the first time that we got to see the 3D models of the 1st generation members of both branches and they were honestly just fantastic live performances that really allowed them to fully shine.

Hololive is a vtuber agency. There are several, but Holo is currently biggest/most popular. It's a japanese company which talents are based in idol culture really focused on music production asides from streaming. There's different brands to cater to different audiences: JP ("main" branch) which is where Suisei belongs, EN (where Calli belongs), and ID, Indonesia. Most of its talents have done either original and/or cover songs under their names on different genres
Vtubers are basically your average streamer but instead of a face cam, they use an anime avatar and control it via face-tracking. They play games, chat with their respective chats or have creative ideas taken to their streams. They're all hilarious, sweet and hard-working individuals
I hope you can look into everything Holo has to offer to you, as their production quality is top-tier. Not only them, but also other talented vtubers from other agencies and even independent ones! There are so many personalities that I bet one of them will make you fall even deeper into the rabbit hole
Question 1: Hololive is a vtuber group, based in Japan. Question 2: Calli and Suisei are both vtubers yes, vtubers are youtube streamers that use anime avatars. Yes, we're not supposed to know what they look like IRL, but past online identities can be known.
Hoshimachi Suisei is one of Hololive's powerhouses. Fantastic singing voice. Her album topped one of Japan's digital download charts, which includes Ghost. She has done a song with Calliope, called CapSule. Hololive and it's vtubers do a lot of usual streamer stuff like playing video games and chatting streams normally, but they are also music leaning. Many of the members will have original songs or at the least do song covers.
For another song/artist under the Hololive banner to check out: High Tide by Moona Hoshinova. Though I've requested that for stream song request haha. It's very much worth a main channel reaction though.

This rabbit hole is deep and wide, and very inviting. Once you watch a vTuber- you can't unwatch. I look forward to seeing more vTuber reactions from you! (pronounce her name 'Soo ee say' ) Many of them have covers, because the cost of arranging/mixing/producing a cover is MUCH cheaper then an original, but their Originals are BOPS. Hoshimachi Suisei has been a presence on TH-cam for a very long time, and one of the few who were allowed to maintain their Vtuber persona as-is after signing to a major vTuber label. She carried that much respect for her talent.
Most of them have "unknown" identities as it is a common understood rule not to break the 4th wall/immersion of the character/persona. A select few stream/perform as their original selves. As you hear more of their unique/different voices, you may even catch a few that may sound like a Voice Actor in anime. Don't be fooled - there's no way a Voice Actor would become a vTuber *cough*
*I can't recommend any particular artists, as I tend to listen to all of them equally. You could always try a compilation video to get a taste of a group of them together. There should be a 'top 10 Hololive songs this week' compilation or something similar. A lot of fan-made love goes into clipping music/karaoke streams/ MVs. Fans tend to be very supportive in that way.*

In the vtuber rabbit hole, there's a bunch of great singers. Personally I'd recommend Tokoyami Towa (who is also under Hololive like Suisei and Calli), specifically here cover of Brilliant or ERROR, both showing off her voice immaculately!

Suisei and Calli are both part of a Vtuber group called Hololive productions. They are basically youtubers who use anime-like personas instead of showing their faces, they sing and play videogames among other things.

Hololive is an entertainment/Idol Vtuber company started by the CEO Tanigo san(AKA YAGOO,) A Chan and Tokino Sora, the first Holive member. the talents focus on singing, gaming or interacting with its viewers. Each talents has their own talents in different areas whether its singing, gaming, drawing etc. They also have another called Holostars which focus on male talents. Hololive has female talents.
mate get ready for this rabbit hole, you cant escape once it hooks you in, such amazing talents with amazing voices from JP to EN to ID to even Stars. BUT everyone underestimates the one branch and thats the ID girls, Moona's High Tide, Risu's ALiCE&u, Kobo's Mantra Hujan these are just the best ones (OG's mind you) and DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE BOIS!!!! Izuru, Rikka, and Astel are amazing.

Hololive - Talent agency of vtubers. They technically do play a character but they're themselves most of the time. They're all streamers here on TH-cam. Each talent under Hololive has their own content, some are singers (like Calli and Suisei), but there's also people who do art, gaming, ASMR, podcasts, dancing, RP, etc. Hololive does have their own label, but some of their members are signed with other labels (eg: Calli is signed with Universal).

Suisei is my favourite Vtuber in Hololive. Ghost was my introduction to Vtubers. I highly recommend listening to her first album Still Still Stellar especially the first track "Stellar Stellar" where her vocal techniques are in full display.
She has two collab originals with Calli. Wicked in Suisei's Channel and Capsule in Calli's Channel. Fun fact their collab unit is called Deathstar since lorewise Calli is the apprentice of Death and Suisei is literally a "star/comet"

So, that was hoshimachi suisei/星街すいセい, an incredible singer with a great vocal range from hololive, she is one of the first 5 girls in the corporation. Hololive is a corporation, founded by Motoaki Tanigo (Called YAGOO by the fans) that focus on Vstreaming and idol culture divided by generations currently with 3 branches: JP (which suisei's at), EN (which calli's at) and ID (with great singers like moona).
By the way, yes, calli and suisei did songs together like capsule and wicked but, there is more singers in hololive that i recommend:

Minor correction: Suisei, while she is 1 of the 5 members of Hololive Gen 0, it is not because she was one of the first 5 they hired. She was hired independently of any generation as a musical talent to pair with AzKi for a now defunct music branch to Cover. She was also one of the few (only 2 or 3, I think) talents that Hololive allowed to bring their original models and histories with them instead of using the ones Holo generated with the attached NDAs. Using her OG model was one of her sticking points for them to contract her. The first branch they put her in was short lived, but Suisei found that she truly enjoyed the variety streaming and collabing with the rest of the girls, so she was switched into Gen 0 when her branch folded.
Very glad they allowed her to keep her old self, because she was able to rerelease some of her music like "Comet" and "Stellar, Stellar" with better production quality, and those two pieces are out right bangers which predated her Hololive contract.
@@karactr8361 Strictly Suisei is the only talent to bring over an avatar from outside the company... the other solo debuts were all created as parts of projects within Cover, and either debuted in Hololive (Sora & Roboco) or transferred into Hololive when their project came to an end (Miko & AZKi).

In my eyes, it just makes Suisei even more iconic.

In addition to acting as a multi-channel network, Hololive Production also handles merchandising especially in music production and concert organization." From my research, there are 71 members in total spread among the different branches at the moment, (35 Hololive, 13 Holostars, 9 Hololive ID, 10 Hololive EN, and 4 Holostars EN) They play games, sing, go to meet and greets, act, offline collaborations (irl with eachother), ect. In terms of identity, I believe they have an agreement where they must remain annonymous, but we all know how the internet is.
Edit: I believe another great duo to react to would be Calliope and Gura. They're both from the same branch and amazing partners. Gura is also the most subscribed to VTuber in the world. Thank you for your time.

I have been following you since the reactions to anime openings and game music and i love your reactions.
(I apologize if I write something wrong, english is not my language ).
So answering your questions, first of all and without going into much detail, a vtuber is simply a youtuber or streamer who instead of showing his face uses an avatar (usually an anime character), they do a lot of things from playing to singing... like any other youtuber.
Second, hololive... is a Japanese company that hires these streamers, they manage the talents, do merchandising, help produce the songs... and things like that.
They currently manage more than 50 vtubers and have 3 branches, hololive EN (english branch ) hololive ID (Indonesian branch) and hololive JP (Japanese branch).
As I explained, these vtubers make a of variety of content, even so they all have an incredible talent to sing and each one has their own style.
Regarding the songs, they are the ones who pay for the production, the company (if i am not mistaken) is there to just back them helping with management and merch.

You should totally react to Enna’s “Wish of this songbird” by Enna Alouette. She’s also a vtuber with an absolutely amazing voice and her song even uses a made up lanquage at some point that sounds like latin and japanese

Man I love Suisei. Her, Calli, and Irys are the big singers of hololive with lot of music. There are other member who are very talented too thogh. ALiCE&u by Risu is one of the best songs in hololive IMO. She is a squirrel Vtuber from the first gen Indonesian branch.

Another vtuber from Hololive that loves to sing and has released a lot of original songs and short original meme/gag/fun songs is Tsunomaki Watame. She recently had an original song with Cali titled "Reaper vs. Sheep" and has 2 versions on it. 1 version on her channel and another version on Cali's channel. She has weekly karaoke livestream sessions due to her love on singing. One of my favorite songs of her is titled "My song".
Hololive is basically an agency of talented streamers (yes they stream and also produce/cover songs and even hold concerts).
Vtubers are streamers who uses a 2d/3d avatar to hide their identity and yes they don't show their real identity for safety purposes.
Suisei, Calli and Towa are nice openers for someone new to the rabbit hole, my personal favorites are Polka, Watame and Sora though!

Hololive is a Vtuber agency that selects people to become vtuber idols under their name. They stream and play games and make songs as well. Vtubers specifically from Hololive can't show their real identities by requirement from the agency but other independent vtubers may choose to do so.

So a vtuber is basically a streamer that uses a virtual avatar, most of the time they use anime style avatars. Hololive is a vtuber company from Japan that focuses mainly on music and art talents. There are also other agencies like nijisanji that focus more on the streamer part but they also have some amazing singers. I think hololive is a good introduction into the vtuber rabbit hole, but afterwards you should definetly also check out some of nijisanji and some indie vtubers. Especially Enna Alouette from Nijisanji en (the english branch). She’ s got an angelic voice but says the most cursed shit out of nowhere (basically a lot dry and dark humor) and i love it. She’s one of my favorites.

Right now, Suisei is having a 1 and a half month break, she decided to do a surgery because she has been having some throat issues over the year (9 months I think) , this may cause her voice to change, but she didn't seem to mind if she can get used to sing with her new voice, she has change her voice several time in the past, other than that she explains that there's not much risk

The next song I would recommend you check out is Pallette by Tokoyami Towa to really see the range of voices Hololive has. Others that are a must to hear are Do U by Takanashi Kiara, High Tide by Hoshinova Moona, Q by Calli and Gura, Flos by Nekomata Okayu and Treasure Box by Hoshou Marine. The rabbit hole is deep but is a lot of fun to explore

King is a good song. A bunch of them sing it, but my personal favorite cover is by Ayunda Risu. Her vocal range is NUTS, both speaking and singing. Gawr Gura's Reflect. Shion's Odo. There's so much talent in Hololive. They're individual streamers, with the company supporting them in various ways. They absolutely earned the support though. Each of them had to prove themselves before joining the company. They all worked very hard.
