    This is a very comprehensive medical bag. One thing that was not directly mentioned in this video was that it is very important to know how to use this kit before you have to. This kit isn't for the person without training to use most of this gear. Get real-world training before getting this kit. But this is such a great company, and I truely hope they go far! Great video!

    A very well thought through pack. About the only thing that is obviously missing is a small, portable defibrillator( $$$ !! ). One might also want to bulk up on the everyday meds, boo boo supplies and buy a BAG of Talon gloves. Instead of carrying bulky reference books I would instead download a huge reference library onto a cheap E reader, Kindle etc. A well prepared person would already have the means to keep it solar charged etc

    Only thing missing are little labels , especially on pull out bags. Would be nice to have labels like "trauma kit" , if you have to tell somebody who's not familiar with the pack. Lot easier to open it up and glance on label.

  • @kg4boj
    @kg4boj 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Happy fourth! For what they give you this is a pretty dammed good deal. If nothing else a trauma bag is s great thing to keep around especially If you do a lot of highway driving. Blood loss management tools and emergency splints with tournaquets will put you miles ahead of the capabilities of police first responders the bigger bag has just about everything an ambulance would be willing to use on someone at an accident scene. The emergency airway management kit would likely keep someone alive longer than it would take ems to get there too. Too rich for my blood but being they list everything I know those two kits would be excellent to have in my emergency trauma bag.

    • @jasonwilliams3223
      @jasonwilliams3223 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Splits and tourniquets miles ahead of 1st responders? Are you joking? I don't know a med bag in existence without those very basic supplies ..

    The amount of objects I would jam in the wrong orifices... Hopefully that extensive medical kit comes with tutorials!
    I was wondering though, how does the kit deal with infection mentioned at the beginning? Maybe I missed it but I didn't see anything about antibiotics or anything like that, outside of prevention.

      Another EMT and I'm very impressed!... I've been searching for a new bag, both empty and stocked, for several months now and this is by far the best that I've seen. It's also the only one I would actually remove some supplies from. As far as being an EMT, I really dont have need for the books, but a cervical collar would be nice. Great Job guys!

      Logan Cressler Doom and Bloom sells medical kits. Also, check out Analytical Survival TH-cam page. he has a great video on a medical kit he constructed. I made my own kit. as the money comes available, I purchase more supplies. my big kit is stored in an Army M17 bag, which is approximately $30.

    • @TWANGnBANG
      @TWANGnBANG  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      NCGUNS That is absolutely true for some of the stuff, but much does not have an expiration date, and you can't necessarily know when to buy the stuff to be sure to have it when you need it.

    • @cougar10ag
      @cougar10ag 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The medication is about the only stuff with a real expiration date, maybe the quick clot too. I heard mixed things about it actually expiring, either way we replaced them every year. The tools and such is not guaranteed sterile past that date. But as long as the package isnt torn open it will be good. Worst case you disinfect it real quick before using it.

    I got very lucky on building my bag. I only spent $700 on my bag. It took over a year to build. The amount of supplies I have are all name brand and in total well over $1300 if I paid in stores. I found a cheap medical supply store and also got tons of gear for a super cheap price at a flea market near me. I was getting high quality name brand items for very cheap prices. I got a $50 pulse oximeter for only $5. I paid cents for all my gauze and gauze rolls. If anyone is looking for gear or gauze, a flea market can be a good place. The people there don't know what they're selling sometimes.

    now that you have all of that stuff how do you learn how to use all of it?

    • @TheJaricon
      @TheJaricon 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      NFSMWcrazy The books that come with the kit are good starts. Red Cross centers across the country have alot of courses/classes as well if you search EMT classes for your state you can find similar things to www.gsems.org/courses/ems-courses that cover most major issues. As for the day to day stuff like he says in the video your going to want the reference material because you may not be able to remember it all every time.

    I really like the concept of this bag, but from my medical experience, I can say that one thing really lacks in trauma packs: Medical supplies for burn wounds.
    Because it needs the biggest amount of medical supplies. it also lacks some liquids for fluid resuscitation like basic saline.
    Saline is one of the most important thing in trauma care and needs to be added. Antibiotics will be great but pretty much impossible to put in.
    Edit: Where is the stethoscope, it's way more important than some forceps.
    Anyway, good video

    • @crashwg
      @crashwg 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrSnakedHD "Antibiotics will be great but pretty much impossible to put in."
      Fish antibiotics come off the same line that ones intended for humans do. I am not familiar with the shelf lives of them though but I would assume they should be swapped out periodically.

    $1,600?! Thats kinda steep for most people considering medical supplies expire in 2-3 years. For most people I would recommend a kit called the MedPak by a company called LifePod (sold on amazon) the highest quality best put together kit I have bought, and I have bought many by the likes of AMK AMP-3 and none come close in quality contents or price.

    "It doesn't have to be a zombie apocalypse of the end of the world for you to end up with out access to medical care"..... Yeah? It's called being just poor enough to not be able to afford medical insurance, but make too much to qualify for medicare IN THE UNITED STATES. Medicare for all..... Nice pack of course, might want one at some point, but you had to see this comment coming when you said that, right?

      None of this kit is for long term care. Everything in this kit can be found in any ER, which by law are required to treat everyone regardless of ability to pay.

      “Fly by night” refers to companies selling sham products with the intent to close down before customers become wise. This is simply another failed business due to not selling enough to sustain themselves.

    Not impressed! There is a lot of "stuff" in this kit, but it is poorly organized, and the wrong or missing materials. It appears to be design by a person with no real medical training, just watched a bunch of TH-cam videos by real medics, and threw together a kit. And is charging way too much money. That is not to say there isn't a lot of good stuff in this kit. If you're building this case for Remote Medicine, you need to have materials to keep you patient stable until evacuation after you initially treat them. Not there! If you are treating a trauma patient (GSW, Blast Injuries, Inhalation injuries, falls, crushing injuries, etc.) than the kit fails at that too. How about burns? And the most used items are sick call and minor injuries. Lacking in this department also. Using bottles and tubes of fluids and medicines are not the best way to transport these items. Not to mention, it's a waste of space. And with your huge bag, where is your traction splint? What are you going to do with the Magill Forceps without a laryngoscope? This kit doesn't even have a stethoscope or BP Cuff. There are better videos, by real medical personnel, on TH-cam that will give you better information on building your kit. Remember, First Do No Harm! Get the medical training and build your kit to your level of skills.
