- Quite possibly the worst I've ever seen the Canal!
A little bit of local rubbish history:
"The branch line of what was then called the grand junction canal, which took bricks to Paddington, was called the Paddington arm. This was opened in 1801 and became a vital highway for transporting bricks. The barges would come back with the city’s rubbish, which would be dumped along the canal in Hillingdon and nearby"

We just need more people to take responsibility for their own mess. Take your litter home , used to be the saying. Too many takeaways and easy access to alcohol in corner shops and supermarkets.

The only way things will change is if the government brings in the bottle and cans change like they have in many EU countries it has worked for plastic bags

No trash bins and everywhere our landfill. I clea up just one wood in Vienna, since ten years. No end of trash. Our wildlife is near extinction. Please keep going ❤️❤️❤️
Lots would be solved if you had a system of deposits on beverage bottles and cans where you live.
People take no pride in where they live. What is wrong with these people that think this is acceptable
Where I live if you drop litter watch out, you will politely be asked to pick it up. then you will pick it up. but generally people just dont litter. its all about pride in where you live for sure.
Wow i thought i pick up a lot of litter but down there is totally on another level it's disgusting. Thank you for trying to keep the country looking clean and tidy you are a great asset.

The thing to do so you don't become discouraged is to visit really trashy sites once a month. Others can be seasonal when sites are used more often. Never allow yourself to become so overtired that you injure yourself by falling or attempting to carry too much to strain your muscles. Let someone know where you are and when you expect yo return. Give yourself a special treat. Always allow people to see you and perhaps the idea may catch on. 😊
when people keep it clean and nothing dump on street you have less to clean up but we have than also less movies from you,i like the movies and every day nice keep make more movies

Glass bottles the worse as they weigh the bags down. Also like you we empty the cans contents . Have done local area with daughter gets very addictive . We usually spend 2 hrs. Well done 👏 👏👏
I thought of little boats could pick up your bags with litter to help you.
The yellow BoB is a Dutch key ring the police gave to when tested sober during an alcohol check. It means Bewust onbeschonken Bestuurder. Which means that you are appointed as driver so your friends can drink alcohol.😎

It would be great if you could bring a few people to help and if the Canal and River Trust or someone would loan you one of their smaller barges. But then you might need their larger barges.Then you could load all the bags of rubbish into it. Then you could take it to a location where it could be off loaded to be taken to a proper disposal spot.
Chilli is a fan of solo trash picking 😉.
The transparent trash bags are given to him by the council for free. Those are used even by the paid trash pickers to mark them as pick those up for free for the trash truck drivers 🚛.

In Sweden we are soon at almost 90 % of recycling the bottles and cans. I read that UK will get that in two years. Think it will solve alot of littering.

Having watched your videos and several others from the UK it is very obvious you guys need a refund program for beverage containers etc, just that one large stash of cans is 2.80 uk pounds worth . we get 10 cents per can and 25 cents for 2 liter and over including milk containers.

I just did an approximate tally of all the bottles and cans you collected . here that would be about 25 to 30 UK pounds worth. keep up the good work you do a great jobe have a good on for next year.

I've been watching you since close to the beginning, and even i was shocked to see so much litter. It was awful. Was it because it built up over summer and now it's visible because the foliage is dying back? And... literal LOL at the slo mo and accompanying music.
Is it possible some of the boats on the canal dump their cans along where you clean up? The big piles of cans and bottles looks suspicious like someone dumped them.
A magnet pick up would be amazing for some of these things

There's no deposit program in the UK 😢.
And only a few scrap yards where you need to bring a big amount of cans to cash them in. This isn't possible for Chilli as he is going by bike and public transport system only.

The canal has 30 clean ups a year.
