I think it’s good for grandpa to be able to get out and help you once in awhile. SOME of us old folk really don’t have much to do and SOME of us aren’t able to do a lot, but sitting and planting or sowing seeds makes us feel like we still have something to contribute, gives us a purpose . I also know SOME old folks still have very actives lives, but remembering my Mom not being able to do very much and now I’m wearing her shoes. 🙁 I live in a community with no family near so I do get lonely, so bravo to you for keeping Grandpa active and part of an active family. 🌷💚🙃
I had the same thought - this is like a new life for him - the opportunity to be productive in fun ways, engage with the community and family, etc. Makes me wonder if people in local nursing homes/assisted living centers might enjoy participating for a couple of hours each week as a field trip.

As a grandparent myself I really envy your Grandpa because nothing feels better then to feel needed and appreciated. Also I miss working greenhouses and plants…one of the greatest jobs I ever had. My favorite part was making up baskets for patios with geraniums and all kinds of complementary plants. Also taking cuttings and propagating them into many plants. The kitchen baskets I made up were with scented geraniums and herbs….$75 and up and that was 20 yrs ago….they always sold out within a week. Greenhouses are scented euphoric garden rooms for me. Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey.💖
