    Another powerful video...The guy on Sax, with his beautiful melody (... Cómo han pasado los años, Cómo cambiaron las cosas...) perhaps with an appropriate pitch...It's also quite notable that anti-Covid measures stole many smiles from affable people.... San Luis looks quiet, clean and magical.... Much appreciated, Amigo...

      Thanks! Awesome sax player. From playing the clarinet for years, I know how difficult a woodwind instrument can be to play well. My teacher was very much into Jazz (I wasn't lol) and encouraged me to improvised duets with him on his sax. I played it once and noticed it was definitely more challenging than a clarinet.

    A wistful walkabout around San Luis Potosi, a very handsome city. I noticed some mixture of colonial and modern buildings but still a very attractive town. San Luis has been manufacturing railroad stock for a long time and this industry is a big deal in San Luis. You walked quite a bit and gave us a feel of the city on a Saturday evening, l don't know how it is in Europe but mexican cities have music blurting out everywhere and that is a challenge. But you will be back to San Luis, maybe not a while but you have a lot of favorite places as a world traveller.

    • @davidostrowski679
      @davidostrowski679  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey I think it depends on where in Europe. I feel like in Mexico (as I said about CDMX) I was quite surprised that night times can be so quiet. I remember walking at 3am in Narvarte or Portales, not a soul on the street. I feel like big cities in Europe tend to be more active at night, for example I remember I had to get up at 2am once for a flight in Madrid. I had to walk to the bus terminal, it was like a Thursday night and with all the activity it felt like the middle of the day lol. Mexico I feel is very different in this respect.

    Beautiful San Luis Potosí!
    About Jurassic Park…I watched it yesterday. We are a Jurassic Park family. I took my youngest daughter, who happens to be the biggest JP fan. We both didn’t exactly enjoy it 100%.
    Too many characters. Unnecessary characters. Characters with too many scenes that made them seem important to the plot, but were never really explained. Too distracting!
    Then there were those locust. Why? I got what the plot was about…but why?
    Some fun parts were the scenes that were supposedly in the Sierra Nevada. The scenery was very familiar. Like looking at my back and front yards. I live on the foothills along the Sierra Nevada. Forest on one side and high desert on the other.
    Thanks again for the wonderful video of this amazing city!

    • @davidostrowski679
      @davidostrowski679  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jurassic Park family!! I was the only one in my family, I remember seeing it at the cinema when I was 11 (I read the book about a year before that, why I thought that would be appropriate for a 10 year old I don't know lol).
      I agree with what you're saying. Too many characters and the whole ending sequence seemed a little forced in terms of 'we must include a shot of each character in peril!' along with obvious nostalgia!
      On the flip side, I loved that. I think how each character who was a main character in other movies each got a shot as they all came together.
      I loved the nostalgia - Ellie wearing the same outfit and taking off the sunglasses in the same way, the 'run!' from Claire, the upside down car being pushed around by the Giga, and Ian getting revenge with the torch!
      I thought Laura Dern was a highlight... she doesn't seem to get much chance to shine. Claire and Wu's character arc resolutions were predictable but satisfying.
      And the Malta scene!! Wait until my Guadalupe video and you are going to laugh #mexidogs
      Omg i forgot to add the locusts. I mean was it explained how they engineered them? Might have missed that part as I watched a bad version online lol

      ❤️
      Yes, the nostalgia part was cool! Ellie and everyone from the original, that were on it….were awesome to see!
      My oldest daughter, who saw it a week earlier that her sister and I, even quizzed us when we got home. She asked if we knew who Dr. Lewis Dodgson was from the first JP. I answered her immediately! I told her it was the character trying to buy the Barbasol embryos from computer programmer Dennis Nedry! She was surprised I caught that. She didn’t realize it, until after she got home and started reading other peoples reviews. That felt like when she was little and she thought mommy knew everything, all over again! 😂🤣
      Jurassic Park was released in theaters the year I graduated High School, in California. Back then the youth was calling it JurASSic Park! 😂🤣 Also, my English was finally good enough to actually understand most of the movie!!! There were a lot of movies I rewatched later on, and finally understood! 🥹😁
      Thank you for sharing your Jurassic Park opinions, memories and experiences with us.
      I enjoy living your travel experiences through you. Looking forward to more! ❤️ take care!

    I love this type of videos David. You know the reason that most dogs in the street are aggresive or look really on edge is because at least 95% of them had owners but then the owners abandon them on the street and they leave them to their own luck and most of them dont get good treatment from the people. Is a real problem in most of the country a lot of people abandon their dogs and dont care about them, the abandonment rate is really high. I dont get it ,if people are gonna end up abandoning their dogs why do they have one ? Thats just cruel !

    • @davidostrowski679
      @davidostrowski679  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree man. Mexidogs for me are iconic. Yes, some are a bit vicious (I remember a time near a train line somewhere, I can't remember where, 3 rottweilers cornered me by a fence (like velociraptors lol) but they were fine. A cat appeared and they chased that instead. 99% of the time they are friendly (at least in my experience) and it's clear they just want/need some love. It's crazy that people would get any pet and not understand it's a lifelong commitment. This is why I'm apprehensive about getting a cat. I mean, a cat is much more independent but I still don't know if I currently have the capacity to look after a cat for it's whole life, hence I don't think it's a good idea.
      One of my next videos actually has what I'm calling 'an ode to Mexidogs', it's a joke chase scene in Zacatecas inspired by a scene in the new Jurassic World movie lol

      yeah low light annoys me to be honest so I always try to get filming done before the sun starts to go down. A lot of viewers don't seem to realise that filming after dark is often a waste of time!

    Bonita ciudad, pero como alguien nacido en México viviendo en EEUU, me pregunto: A quien, o que instancia del gobierno le corresponde el mantenimiento de las calles, aceras etc? Da tristeza mirar aceras y calles tan viejas, con hollos, y los cables del alumbrado publico deberian estar bajo tierra, no expuestos. Que se hace con el presupuesto publico?
