Awesome video and very informative. After several visits to S.L.P. and other cities in Mexico, my husband and I have decided that S.L.P. checks more boxes than most cities. Especially when it comes to climate. Having lived in Chicago and Dallas, for many years, we both will welcome a city with much more mild climate. And because of this and the walkability of this city, we have decided to purchase a home in the barrio of Tequisquiapan aka Tequis. We hope to be able to close on a house in the coming weeks. It is exciting to hear in this video that Tequisquiapan, Tequis, is one of the most recommended neighborhoods near Centro. That being said wish us luck in the purchase of our home. Hasta luego!
Wife and I are doing our 3rd visit to San Luis Potosí next month. Our retirement is quickly approaching and SLP tops our list of possible new hometowns. We’ve visited many locations all over Mexico and SLP checks more boxes for us than any other. In town airport, weather, walkability and very kind people are our main points. Every other possible retirement city we visited (except Aguascalientes) has some significant negatives that we just haven’t seen in SLP.
I spent the most recent weekend in San Luis Potosi, just for walking around and looking around. And I received the reminder of this video on my way back to Saltillo. It is a quite interesting place. I found nice food and a wonderful supermarket there. I walked through Venustiano Carranza Street, from end to end, and I enjoyed it quite a lot. I’m thinking about moving there.
Hola mi amiga✌🏻 Thank you so much for this wonderful video. Your timing is perfect as i will be starting my journey through Mexico in this beautiful city. I can’t wait. Muchas gracias 🙏👏🏻👍🏻✌🏻🤙🏻
@MexicoRelocationGuide I know. My intention is not to be insulting or negative, but when you look at the aerial shots, you gotta admit it looks pretty dense. Maybe when you're at street level it doesn't feel that way. Is there water shortage issues here? I'm starting to see news about this problem is several of the cities I've liked. I don't know how serious it really is, though.
Tequis is where me and my husband would like to live. Will be there in a couple of months. Looking for a furnished rentals. Let us know if you hear of anything for a long term rental 2 or 3 BR. I also would like to immediately enroll is a Spanish Class. I would like to increase my vocabulary first, then get to know the city.
Thanks for the comprehensive review of San Luis Potosi. kAside from Centro, what other neighborhoods are good for people who don't want to have a car and have good public transportation options? Also, are the malls generally accessible by bus or do you need a car (or use Uber) to get to them? Thanks!
After re-watching I want to offer a constructive criticism. First - being a TH-camr myself I know how difficult it is putting together a feature video like this. It takes a LOT more work than anyone not doing it realizes. I have been to many Mexico cities and they all have very pretty neighborhoods and they all have neighborhoods with less attractive buildings in states of decay. ALL Mexico cities. I have watched all of your city spotlight videos. In comparison to them this video unfairly dwells on unsightly decayed buildings in a small portion of Centro. Yes, you showed some nice spots too. But the ratio of your visual representation is misleading.
I guess if you live in the ghettos of Houston then yea it would probably be slightly more expensive to live in the high end parts of SLP. so it’s not apples to apples 😀😉

You can get to malls by public transportation... I live in pozos and I can get to Centro by bus, but it takes like an hour!
By sharing this it’s def not a secret anymore

IDK, it looks pretty dirty. Not a lot of character. Not that cheap unless ur better off. Infrastructure is somewhat dated.🤫
Downtown is very nice, my 4th choice to move to in central Mexico
it’s actually very nice and the people are some of the nicest we have ever met. I would say you need to visit. The people we know living here LOVE it
Woww more expensive than in Houston and it doesn’t looks pretty 😏😬
