Wow, that phaser trick is pretty crazy. Your vids on the buchla modules are really inspiring! I often come back to them as a reminder of how far a buchla system can go, if I ever feel stuck making the same sounds
Nice work Some very useful tips here thanks I like how basic and unassuming these modules are on the surface individually But they are actually very deep when used as a whole
Just picked up my first 4 Tiptop/Buchla modules because of your videos. I have experience with Buchla 4U so not a complete novice. Thanks for the inspiration!
Great video. As I understand the vactrols is what gives the LPG this special flavour. Will the EU version (without vactrols) be any good then? Also could you please let us know how your Hameg oscilloscope is connected? CH 1 has this strange thing on int's input. Thanks!
About the vactrol thing there is some superb sounding LPG without vactrols now, I think it's just much more work on the circuit to make it behave the same way (check the Make Noise DXG for exemple). About the scope I use these little utility thing to connect mini jack to it: www.threetom.com/product/wiretap-v002-eurorack-to-test-equipment-adapter/
Really enjoying your TipTop/Buchla 200 series videos! Waiting for my 292t to arrive this was a good inspiration for some tricks to try! I noticed the Serge GTO - I have Sport Modulator 2 from Toppobrillo, did you try that one too and could say something about similarities and differences?
Thanks, happy you like those vids. I never tried the Sport Mod but i'm sure it's quite close to SSG / GTO. I'll make a proper demo like this one about the GTO asap.
Mais pourquoi toutes les démos sont elles quasi toujours en 5/8? C'est assommant à la fin! La faute au séquenceur? Sinon C'est magnifique et envoûtant. Merci beaucoup pour ces vidéos.
@@Stazma Only assumed so, of course. It's just become part of how we know this case! I am using other various LPG's in my TT/Buchla case too, until I can do these 292's!
I have not tried the DXG at all but it sounded great in every demo I’ve seen. Maybe I’ll try to get one when TT will also have the vactroless version of the 292t ready.
@@Stazma Milk audio in Rome have it for a good price..Im undecided dude..not sure it its the USA version or the EU version.i'll message them. Thanks for the great vids as always.
Hey there! To be clear the EU version on the module is not available yet. It will have no vactrols are these have been banned from the EU so it's illegal to import them in big quantities from what I understood. I bought this unit from Perfect Circuit and had no problems at all (apart from the obvious import taxes).
Ah sorry I didn't got it that way. You can do it by inverting and boosting it's output signal and send it back to its input.@@liantrosretrospectiva4134
The EU banned the import of device containing vactrols, so there is this US version with vactrols inside, that I ordered from the USA directly. There will be a EU version with no vactrols coming in the future. There is some well explained context on Tiptop Audio website if I remember well.
It's very good indeed but not really better than other options I'd say. But yes if you have the complete line it's hard to resist adding this one hahaha.

Many thanks for the kind words ;-)
I've come back to this video like 4 times. Thank you so much. Brilliant, really.
Thanks man ;-)
Thanks for all the videos. Got one of these today. Sounds just like yours, great. I'm glad they went with a nice musical decay for the vactrols.
Thanks for the tips! Mine just arrived, and I already ordered a second.
Nice work
Some very useful tips here thanks

thank you
I'm trying to resist a dedicated Buchla build, but you're making it very difficult... Great demo.
It's very hard to resist and I didn't tried much to be honest hahaha
FANTASTIC!!! Damn, what a great video.

Yeah yeah, but where can I get that voltage controlled cat?
Great demo thanks Stazma. Am def. gonna get a couple here, too. The big question is will it really leave you with a loose QMMG? Ha!
Nah the QMMG will go back to my Verbos case as the main VCA / LPG / Filter for it ;-) Will never part of this beauty.
@@Stazma Only assumed so, of course. It's just become part of how we know this case! I am using other various LPG's in my TT/Buchla case too, until I can do these 292's!
QMMG has hi Pass mode and has a sound of its own
Super video ! Comme d'habitude ! Quele spring verb utilises-tu à la 10e minute ? Elle sonne très bien !
Fat bottom gates, you make the rockin world go round
Haha that's a good one!
Look at that Serge GTO… 😎
His time will come soon ;-)
Have you tried this vs the MN DXG? I know its vactrols vs non-vax, but still, character matters!

@@Stazma great demo of the 292t btw, I meant to say as well, thank you… it is on my list
@@Fluidstructure Thanks! There is another demo about it coming later today, on how to make it resonant ;-)
Hi Stazma, are you living outside of europe? I saw they are not selling this version because vactrols are banned in europe
I live in France but I ordered it from the US. You ca nactualy buy one as a person, but it's forbiden to import those on an industrial level I think.
@@Stazma thank you! i did it, hopefully it will get here soon!
Why, what on earth is up with vactrols?@@Stazma
They have a specific sound that I like, as simple as that @@favoriteblueshirt
How does the EU version sound compared to the module you are using mate? Did you compare?
I don’t think the EU version is out yet so can’t tell.

This or steady state gate? From the perspective of no brand allegiance..
Feature wise the SSF wins but I do love the simple but quad design of those… and vactrols. I would love to try the SSF one day tho.
@@Stazma Thanks for the honest reply 👍 Yep, no vactrols in the SSG obviously
I'm sorry, why does EU version not have vactrols? Thanks

@@binarybotany3218 It's because they contain a chemical named cadnium that is actualy what's been banned hahaha.

There is quite a few out there but this one stick to the original
