    I was aware of the early Regal Sport Coupes, never know there was a turbo Le Sabre as well. Learn something new everyday!

      It’s a good thing. We don’t get to waste time watching other grown men live our automotive dreams. We can stop watching & go do things ourselves.

    Used to cut grass for elderly couple. Had a blue mint condition super low mileage one of these in garage. Never got used. Years later they passed away and their son used it as his daily. Cleveland winters ate it alive. Dammit Man.

    I like the picture with the GM Tech Center's stainless steel water tower in the background. At 12 Mile and Mound in Warren, Michigan.

      GM started using turbos in 1962.

    I would swap in a 5,3 lm engine with a turbo, and make New emblem with turbo 5,3 liter.. And keep it as is on exterior.

    Cool Buick!
    I never knew these had a turbo available in them
    You should really do a spot on the old Ford and GM trucks that were in the background! They look in amazing shape! (Especially from this guy that lives in Pa where most of those have long since rotted away :( rust sucks!)
    I love those old Fords especially!

    That poor thing is a parts car at best. $1950? Geez. It's just going to continue to bake and deteriorate in the yard at that price.

      No demand for a car like that (late seventies B body). Was a decent ‘79 Palm Beach, an Electra coupe with a true Buick 4V at an El Paso yard I frequent. Very little was taken, and it was cleaner than that v6 turbo one.

  • @HIDHIFDB
    @HIDHIFDB 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That Buick needs a good bulletproof vortec v6 and a 5speed manual

  • @pl5624

    A 77 lesabre sport coupe 350/403 with a 455 swap would be the best way to go.

  • @331Grabber
    @331Grabber 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    GM cars you could find the early Buick Turbo 3.8 in:
    -Regal 78+
    - Late 78-80 or 81 LeSabre
    -79-80 Buick Century
    -79-85 Riviera ( I believe the fuel injected Turbo 3.8 was in the later ones)
    -80-81 Monte Carlo

  • @davestewart2067
    @davestewart2067 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Buick big block (455) went away after 1976, but the Buick 350 soldiered on into the 1980 model year. If had had a chance to have ordered one of these new, would have insisted on the Buick 350. They were mixing and matching different division engines at this time, and it pissed some customers off.

    I'd buy that LeSabre in a heartbeat if I needed a nice interstate cruiser. A friends mom had one with the 3.8L turbo and it was a very nice car for road trips. Hers was a 2 door like this but was painted two-tone silver upper and either charcoal or black lower and didn't have the targa band or landau roof. It also had a red interior. The 3.8L Buick engine (turbo or n/a) was the beginning of a new era for GM. They were rock solid reliable, like the venerable small block Chevy and were produced for several generations. There was also a Chevy 3.8L (229 c.i.d.) but it was garbage compared to the Buick.

    Early production turbo's minus intercoolers maybe a reason that thing is in there. The big 3 were caught off guard to meet safety standards such as the Rail road tie bumpers
