  • It is a beautiful sunny day at north west WA state, went out for clam digging with my family, got 3 limits ;). A batch of Washington state park opens from April 1st to mid of May, they provide better clamming opportunity then those opened year around.
You can find clam beach information at here:

I’m moving to Washington and your channel has made me so excited for fishing and foraging opportunities. I’m not new to fishing, but I appreciate that you break everything down for beginners. You put a lot of effort into your videos and it’s is greatly appreciated!

Can't wait for Potlatch to open again! It's on my list of places to visit. I went to Belfair State Park last weekend and got my limit of clams. Do you think the clams taste different from beach to beach? I feel like the clams at Dosewallips taste sweeter than Belfair State Park.

Depends on the pollution level, usually I don't do clamming in the summer, the warm water is not good for those clams

Bashi, make sure you keep the "limit per person" separate. Like in each bag, wdfw was out there giving people a harder time of their limits were separate per person. It's not that big of a deal, but if they're cranky they ticket...What a fun video though!! Thank you.

That's a good point, thanks Seboya! I always bring a bucket for each family member, I came across ranger almost every time digging for clam.

@Bashi WA Fishing Yeah, us too. I had my youngest with mine, and the ranger was like, "They need to be marked separately." Maybe he was CRAAANKY PANTS that day. But, there was an older gentleman who's always out there, and he was telling us that the rangers were ticketing. They definitely like throwing their weight around, or trying to, at least. Then, the nicest lady taught us about the edible seaweed that was growing close to shore. It's always fun, but when the rangers are in a mood...eeeesh.
