Unfortunately, since the upgrade of the boat I haven't. I wonder if it's all melted already. Either way it's going to be great weather today and tomorrow. Good luck and share some pics of the conditions and ask the guys in the "Fishing is my happy place" fishing group. Someone might have been recently. Good luck! 😊 facebook.com/groups/410529470508902/?ref=share
Just a tip, wet your hands before handling a fish if youre going to release it, that way it doesnt remove the fish's protective slime which prevents infections. Otherwise solid video and nice lures you made. I miss trolling for rainbows/kokanee!

You can anchor the boat on top of a school and jig for them. Right now would be a good time as it's hot. For trout there's also cast and retrieve a gibs croc spoon near shallow areas Alternative to trolling without a downriggers; long line a banana weight with ur set up to sink ur presentation. Have u tried those methods yet?
@@bbtvfishingismyhappyplace will try jigging. What will work? Like a spoon or corn & shrimp? You think that banana weight will take me down to those depths for trolliing?
@@bbtvfishingismyhappyplace my first time fishing on any boat. so this will be a test run. If I just jig with corn, shrimp or egg is that good enough? If i do troll with banana weight how far down does it get? and what weight for banana?
@Medieval Foot cured deli shrimp with fire cure.. could also use power eggs or balls of fire.. you'll need to be anchored for this. Drop your set up all the way to the bottom then suspend it 3-6 feet above bottom then start jigging. Also if long lining. A 2 or 3 oz weight would do it. I think there's a chart on how much to let out to acquire certain depth. You'll have to google it.

WHICH LAKE DO U PREFER MY FRIEND, FOR FISHING ? I TRIED KAWKAWA YESTERDAY , FIRST TIME. VERY PRODUCTIVE. BUT SMALL LAKE, and PEOPLE SURROUNDING YOU CONSTANTLY. FEEK LIKE THERE WATCHING ME ALL DAY. THEN the POWER BOATS STARTED AROUND 12:00 , THAT WAS IT DOR FISHING. FISHING was NOT VERY PRIVATE, LIKE BUNTZEN. JUST SAYING.
Yes, unfortunately, it's a small lake. It's a very productive lake despite the annoyance of the sports boats. I'm still confused about why they like to go to such a small lake. As for my preference for lakes for fishing... it's quite an open question since there's so many, lol. Region 2, kawkawa, and alouette are my choices for my particular boat. Prior to the boat upgrade, I enjoyed Hicks and Jones Lake very much. I also like the fishery in Kamloops/Merritt. I frequent Stump Lake and enjoyed lac le Jeune once. Highway 24, Cariboo is another favorite area. We enjoyed the Sulphurous lake, Watch lake, and visited Lac des Roches once, but it wasn't productive that time. Next, we'd like to visit Deka and Sheridan. So many lakes to try and not enough time 😅. What's your favourite?
@@bbtvfishingismyhappyplace THANK YOU, SO FAR MY FAV LAKE IS BUNTZEN FOR SCENERY and BEAUTY CLOSE TO HOME. FOR FISHING, I DID WELL at KAWKAWA LAKE FOR the FIRST TIME. MAKES IT FEEL WORTH IT, BUNTZEN IS VERY NON PRODUCTIVE AT TIMES. SMALLER FISH, I DO CATCH LOTS OF KOKANEE THERE. BUT VERY SMALL, USUALLY RETURN THEM. MAIN FISH THERE ARE RAINBOWS, I HAVE GOOD DAYS THERE. BUT ALSO GET ROBBED A LOT. KAWKAWA IS BY FAR the BEST I HAVE FISHED. CAUGHT ABOUT 25 FISH ON WEDNESDAY. 21 WERE ABOUT 6" LONG. I LET GO , MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD COMING HOME WITH SOME NICE SIZED KOKANEE. U R RIGHT ABOUT DEKA, SOUNDS AMAZING FOR FISHING ALSO I HAVE HEARD. THANKS AGAIN
@davidson2004fatboy definitely produces nice sized kokanee for such a small lake. I fished buntzen before, but I don't have an electric kicker anymore, so that's the end of that for me. Glad u had a good outting! 😃
At which depth are you trolling at? With just flasher and the diy, it gets to the necessary depth? I’ve been up there twice but have no luck, must be doing something wrong!
I let out 80-130 ft of line out of my reel. Trolling around 1.3-1.54 mph. I would think I'm between 20-30 ft in depth, mind you that was mid May where the fish were in the higher column. They may be deeper now but I suggest using a skateboard dodger that has a bit of weight on it if trolling. Early morning bites would also increase your chances. Also gang trolls work well at Jones. Another thing to try is casting and retrieving at the very far end of the lake opposite of the boat launch near the stumps and inflows. Try a Gibbs croc spoon 3/16 in size. Try a variety of colours aswell. I've been successful with red/orange striped color. I've had success with a pumkin seed rooster tail aswell! Hope that helps. Let me know of your results! Thanks for watching and hope to see you on the next videos. If u haven't yet please Like, share and subscribe if you found this helpful! ☺️🎣✌️🐟Cheers.

Didn't catch if this was on a weekday or weekend? I hear it gets pretty busy on that lake on the weekends. Nice vid and thanks for leading me to Kokanee Kings on fb! :D
Thanks for the comment Mathew! Yes those groups are amazing sources of information! This was a weekend. Sunday I believe.. pretty busy as there was campers galore. Mind you the closure really shortened where ppl could go and this was a free camping site. Good luck out there! Look at my description before you go. Lots of info there aswell as links... Cheers!
Glad to know it's always been beautiful! Yes the road up is not bad if you have the right vehicle. Not sure how it was 45 years ago but it had some reports of campsites being really dirty some years ago. Remnants from campers in areas. Much better in the recent years I've seen. They did a real good job cleaning up the place. I'm always jaw struck by it's beauty. How was the fishing 45 years ago? I have another Jones lake video aswell please check that out on my playlist. Thanks for watching and please subscribe to my channel if haven't done so and click the bell icon to be notified of my future videos. Thanks for stopping, tightlines and happy fishing ☺️🎣
I hear ya.. I find all lakes with a Bc hydro reservoir all have the same situation. Very sad to see... although in previous years I've caught some lunkers out of there! Also found kokanee in this lake aren't as big compared to other lakes. Still the breathtaking views make it worth it. If u haven't yet please support my channel with a like, subscribe and a click on the bell icon. I would greatly appreciate that. It sucks you had to re-upload, but I appreciate the extra effort. A good lesson to teach that you can take 2 steps back at certain times to take 4 steps forward. As I mentioned last comment on the other video, i think it would it would be cool to see the kray fish/crab cage view when you drop it into the water. Maybe you'll get some better insight on what lure works or what goes wrong. I think the same thing would be cool to see if you can somehow see what happens to the bait from the fishing rod when you cast it out. Still great work!! Keep it up
WOW... thanks for the AMAZING FEEDBACK!... I do appreciate all the feedback guys/gals! Its how I caught the other problem... It was heart wrenching knowing I put all the work catching the fish/capturing footage/editing/preparing accurate helpful descriptions only to have an ending thats blurred! lol lesson learned. Had to swallow my pride and walk backwards like you've mentioned. sigh lol Yes, that idea for the cage view is a good one! one day ill drop a camera in the trap. Unfortunately at this time I only have one camera and my footage taking would be on idle if I did that. Go Pro batteries also don't last very long but I'll definitely try and catch more up close footage of the catch for you guys. Thanks for your valuable feedback! have an amazing day!!!
hahahah thanks Manny! appreciate that! well one thing you get more of the ending part of the video! lol Also even myself! watched it probably a million times in the editting process and I find myself laughing in many parts of the footage.. Love reliving the fish on moments! hahah Thanks for stopping by!
HAD TO REUPLOAD. FIXED THE ENDING! Sit back, relax and enjoy the show! Please send some feedback my way as I strive to make entertaining and informative content. Thanks and have a great day! Be sure to put your video quality settings to 1080p hd guys/gals!

Im glad you enjoyed it! Tune in for the DIY video of the Wiggle Wedding Band! Tight lines and bent rods! Cheers!
Dude the quality and editing of the footage now vs from 3 months ago is 🚀
Thanks Anthony!! The music is locally sourced aswell! Would be cool if we can collabo. I know you got amazing musical skills! Thanks for watching!
Simply wow
Haha. Thanks my friend!👍 Jones lake is pretty majestic.😊
I’m thinking of heading up Jones Sunday for the day / night , fishing from shore / kayak .

What other way you recommend besides trolling with just a 12' boat with no downrigger? I got a fish finder on the way this week.

You gotta ditch the barbed hooks. You tear the fish face to shreds with them
