    Another Great video explanation. The nearest I can think of is from Fred Griffin's book 'Swing Like a Pro' where he teaches drills for the Transition, but the 're-centering' was not as I recall explained at all, and additionally FG would advise (while learning) the the Transition that the golfer starts the move towards the target with the hips as the club comes to vertical and the lead arm is about at 9 o'clock. I practiced this and began to get great results but it was hard, really hard to ingrain for me and I let it slip. Hopefully this concept of waiting until the clubhead is nearer the top of the swing and moving at it's slowest will be the key to move me forward to where I know I should be. Thanks Guys.

    Forgot to add the positive to my comment below, several of your videos including this one, resetting 50/50 on the upswing, initiating weight shift was an eye opener for me. It changed my swing dramatically allowing me to hit ball much better more consistently. Thank you 👍

    Can you guys give a swing drill whilst lying on yre back🏆
    With the back fixed or stationary while the other ligaments freely move representing the stance. The backswing. Downswing. Impact and follow through
    This will be an intersting drill since you know Gears
    Keep up the good work

    I think I now get it....must advance hip rotation, hence weight transfer, when club shaft is parallel to ground on back swing not at top of back swing. Pose at that point, then initiate weight transfer. My timing ( actually order of events) is wrong. I have been initiating hip rotation at top of back swing. Helps explain how Finau and Bubba have such wildly different looks when you track club head location . I imagine that theri weight transfer is near identical. Dam, that's enlightening,

    I first heard about this from kelvin miyahira...he called it drifting...start drifting towards the target right after the bump away from target on the back swing

    Hmmm . Doing some swings in the living room and let me know if i am understand this drill correctly. At the point in the backswing when the club starts going back towards the target you should almost let that momentum shift your weight back to the front foot for you? It feels as if my weight is on my front foot before the downswing even starts.. Very different feeling than normal. Am i on the right path?

    • @AthleticMotionGolf

    I understand the concept, but it seems I am somehow overdoing it. My experiences (with the driver) have been driving the ball into the ground about 2 inches in front of the tee. Probably coming over the top. Will keep working on it. Thanks for all of your videos.

    When is the recentering completed? Before the start of the downswing? How far or how much is the move to the target? I feel that I recenter and then pause before I start the downswing and that I have recentered significantly such that most of my weight is now on my left foot.

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Re-centering is just that... getting back to 50/50. Past that and you've shifted to the front. Re-centering should happen around the top of your swing. 70-75% on the front leg should happen by left arm parallel in the downswing.

    Actually learned about pressure recently when I struggled with it. My coach sorted me out though. But the recentering should be pressure from right heel in backswing and then towards toe when the recentering happens right?

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The right heel to left to gets WAY over done. It's better to think middle of right foot to middle of left foot👍

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, Randy. I'm not sure they are that linked to one another without a few other considerations taking place. We've never tried to associate the two events but I can see instances where they happen at roughly the same time. If that makes sense?

  • @nigel4321
    @nigel4321 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    When i recenter (lateral move) my right arm wants to narrow or collapse...Is this caused by moving too much laterally?

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No because a recenter move doesn't take much lateral movement at all. We typically see the right arm collapsing caused by the right arm being forced too straight in the takeaway and backswing.

    • @vaughnwoodruff3609
      @vaughnwoodruff3609 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AthleticMotionGolf I have a huge issue collapsing the right arm as well. To combat this I think Steve Stricker. The intent is to limit radial deviation (wrist cock)on the back swing. What "really" happens is a nice amount of wrist cock and a right arm that never gets narrower than 90 degrees. Less RD also helps flatten the left wrist and shallow the shaft for me without thinking about it (I am notoriously steep and lead wrist cuppy in the downswing). Does this make sense? Cheers!

  • @daveyng2
    @daveyng2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have the tendency to “raise up” through impact. When my lead leg straighten video always shows my head raise. HOW DO I KEEP MY HEAD DOWN THROUGH THE IMPACT?!? Driving me nuts.

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      David, that could be caused by a few things that happen much earlier in your swing. To really know we'd have to see what you are doing and what the cause is.

    Question - wouldn't this recentering move be considered an upper body lunge?

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Considering that the upper body, in a top 10 caliber player, moves a total of about 5-1/2" forward during the swing and the re-centering bit is roughly 1-1/2" of that... it is definitely NOT an upper body lunge.

    The key to this is to keep the TARGET in your mind NOT the ball. If you concentrate on the ball your body moves naturally to put all the energy down instead of towards the target.

  • @frenchaccent3667
    @frenchaccent3667 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like the concept of your videos, but I do not understand why while showing the backswing, you only raise one arm and leave the other hand/hand in your pocket. I understand it may look cool but certainly does not show the viewer the full extent and practical side of what you are trying to explain.
    I saw a sumilar senario on another video with sponge and nurf ball tshirt sticker rotation theory. If you showed the actual swing with both hand/arms it may be less cool but certainly more telling.
    No disrespect intended 😉
