Today...I am trying bullet journaling AGAIN. My bullet journal for 2020 was a bit of a flop because lets face it..nothing happened lol BUT I AM DETERMINED that 2021 will be better and as a result my bullet journal will be filled with lots of custom pages for me and my life for next year. It's not the prettiest spread in the world, I'm definitely not Amanda Rach Lee but it's ok hahaha

i adore it bc i gave up on bullet journalling in 2019 because i was making it too high effort but this really makes it seem so much more approachable

@@liesbeth_ve Same for me! I gave up on one last year because I wanted it to be "aesthetic" though I recently started another one about a month or so ago, and I just do what I want. Some pages are super fancy and detailed - and others just get the job done. Simplicity can be key sometimes.

Your journal does not have to be an art-journal. Watch the way of ryder carroll.
AND: You can glue pages together, if you mess up too much :-D

Lol.I hate the ones that start with Monday and end with Sunday.Cuz in my country,most of the calendars are made that way.And school is on Sunday-Thursday and the weekend's from Friday-Saturday,so I'm used to that way,so I prefer that way.What about you?😂

I've tried bullet journaling and it made me really insecure about my introversion, and basically tanked my self esteem. But I do like the idea of a bullet dream journal, using the aesthetics of a bullet/junk journal to chronicle some of my intense dreams, with drawings and interpretations
Great idea! You can also use it to track any of your other hobbies, things/chores you need to do, any lists, or whatever you want.
I use mine for almost everything! You definitely don’t have to use it as a “planner” it’s made to help you and if the planning part doesn’t help then don’t use it.
The best part about bullet journaling is how it works for you. ☺️ I don't have time to make it ✨aesthetic✨ so I don't. That's too much pressure and time wasted when I am using it to make my life more productive and less stressful. So do what you need, and leave out the parts that don't! 🥰

something that could be helpful:
when using your ruler just to make a line use it with the backside up.. I don't know how to explain this.
Doing that creates an airpocket between the ink and the ruler, that will prevent it from smudging or flowing underneath the ruler and creating a mess.
The ruler she used hasn't got this thing - it's flat
@@-vanvan doesn't make it any less helpful for others. Every ruler I own is a little thinner on the side where all the markings are, that's what creates the airpocket when you use it with the "wrong side" up, so I just assumed other rulers are like that, too.

There are some kinds of rulers (like hers) and they are fr f l a t. So it doesn't work for those, but yes, for the others your tip works great! 🪄☃️

Honestly, Chloe having clearly imperfect bullet journal spreads brings me more joy than literally anything else in the bujo community. I like a really artsy bullet journal, but honestly, ain't no one got time to spend 3+ hours setting up, filling in, and perfecting your month. Chloe is out here just making it and letting the cards fall where they may. I respect that.
I personally like the dotted paper for my bullet journaling!!! It looks neater and helps u make straight lines, as well as helps plan the layout of ur pages!!!!
I actually love this, so relatable. I’ve watched a few bullet journalling videos and I don’t understand how some people can have perfect pages?! those super aesthetic journals have always put me off continuing to journal because mine always is wonky and it’s too much stress to make it look perfect but this video was encouraging and made me want to give it a go again

Quick Question: If you prefer your week to start on a monday, why don't you put a calendar in your bujo that starts on a monday? Bujos are all about customization and if you don't like calendars that start on sundays why put them in your bujo?

honestly i struggled a lot in my bullet journal in the beginning because i was trying to make it look like others aesthetic bullet journals, but i learned that the best thing to do for yourself is think about what YOU need in an organization system and put that in your bullet journal 🤷♀️ that's the whole beauty of it! you get to customize what you need for your life 😌 just something to consider
When I first started journaling I would leave the back of every set up page in case either
A I messed it up and needed to tear it out, or
B I remember another thing I wanted to do and it should have been put on an earlier page.
It saves a lot of stress. And don't compare yourself to people who have been doing it for years. Merry Christmas everyone!! And a happy and VERY SAFE New Year to everyone!!!

Also, using the last pages of your journal to test out supplies helps. And a lot of washi tape, pretty papers and glue to cover things up 😅
It doesn’t have to be perfect. You’re using it daily. It can be messy and functional!! Gives it character. Thanks for sharing.
thank you for showing a true first/second bullet journal start. That it's okay for it to look messy. I'm not a drawing/painting art person but I'm trying and knowing how great you are and that a bullet journal isn't easy to make look good helps so much! I started last year and it only stuck with planning trips.... which ended for more than one reason

I have never been so organized that I could make a bullet journal work. I did have a planner with a weekly calendar for appointments and phone numbers but I have not used one for about 5 years! Keep staying SAFE! I hope to continue to do so as well!

RULER TIP: If you're using a steel rule, make sure you have a cork backing on the underside. That lifts the ruler off the page, so when you move it, you don't drag wet ink. If you're using a plastic ruler, turn it upside down and the beveled edge lifts it the same way.

I found the derwent paint pens in hobbycraft when I was looking to expand my posca set, I didn't realise they did them either. They are definitely on par with posca. they were the thicker nib though.
Are they water-based?

Simple is a good choice for a first or well second attempt, really fancy ideas can be overwhelming. I like how you use the washi tape to cover it up, it's a good choice :D

Bullet Journaling is whatever you want it to be. It can be even simpler and super bare bones. It's yours, so do what you like. I've ripped out pages and covered up entire pages. Don't stress. Happy 2021.

Love Chloe! I could not wrap my head around the Bullet style of journaling, just like Planners, as they seem to need too much work! I am an old fashioned journaling type, but these past few years I seem to have hit a rut... I thought Chloe's journal was beautifully done, without any of the pretenses of perfection, and added humor with her Wonky Snowman! I envy her ability to just draw anything on a whim! Be it a scene of frozen January with Snowmen & icycles or a paper airplane... I just can't do it!
BUT, I will say I use a fountain pen for my journaling....and THAT is my style, so do what works for you!

I actually asked for a bullet journal for Christmas so i could keep track of daily tasks and important topics to discuss in therapy. The mood tracker is a good page. I actually am going to do that in mine. Thank you chloe for all the great ideas
