I like the improvement portion that you put at the end of your reviews. You put on some different kit and changed the interior layout. But…….we don’t get to see the new interior, takeoff, and performance in space. I’m especially curios in how the interior looks when you change the habs.
Look at that sexy beast! I really like Deimos. No additional commentary is required. Does make me want to build up a Deimos custom assault craft. Thank you for the review and breakdown.
Thanks for doing this video. I just created a UC Vanguard character and just bought a longsword at level one for it and was looking for ways to alter it to make it more streamlined and not as confusing as it is when starting out. I didn't like the fact that I had to zig zag through the habs just to get to the flightdeck to fly it. Also those tail fins you removed could of been glitched through those engines. I want to put all my crew members in uniforms. Is there a way I can get all the uniforms without having to kill anyone for them?
In my opinion, this ship is The Best base ship/design for improvements for every player, specially those starting with ship modifications. It can easily be upgraded for B or C class, can easily add a good amount of cargo and place strong engines to keep mobility high, good placements for more fuel and swap the bridge for the Stroud Viking and a control center and easily have 8 crew slots in a small ship. I'm really a fan of this design, but the One think I sugest is Always invert the landing bay so it's possible to enter for the front. It took me a while to build this ship, but once I build, it was hard to make another one as balanced as this one with such compact design. I Honeslty would like to see the other brands bulding something with this base layout as a guide, like a UC request design or something like that.
This is the sort of ship that would be handy to start with in a NG+ cycle IMO. You've potentially already done all the research in the game, so materials aren't as necessary. You simply need something with decent performance and pew pew power to roam the stars, and that is this ship.
Yeah, I really wish new game plus gave you extra traits. Imagine being able to get an upgraded version of uc citizenship and starting off with this ship, or choosing freestar and getting the star Eagle
Jump seats to carry troops fits for s ship that touts itself as a combat ship, i would say. To carry the boarding party for overtaking Pirate ships after the pilot knocked out the engines. Or.. whatever enemy in general. But it strikes me more as something a defensive force would have, to quickly get at the target, but don´t do longer travels, so it´s pretty much regionally bound.
She's definitely a ship killer rather than a boarding vessel. The particle/ballistic/missile setup confirms that. Max hull damage as soon as the shields are down. Toss in the extremely low fuel and seemingly limited crew number, and this feels like a ship designed specifically for system defense. Stay in orbit around a moon or planet and destroy anything that doesn't have authorization to pass. You wouldn't be jumping much and when you do, it's likely as part of a larger formation consisting of supply and fueling vessels. Not to mention any capital ships who may have shorter jump ranges by necessity anyway due to sheer bulk. More a harbor defense than open sea combat mentality. In that regard, she's excellent in all accounts although I'd rather have an infirmary than a workshop.
Yeah, I forgot the hellfires are b class. Adding a bit class reactor and bulwark shield would be a great upgrade and make the ship way more combat effective
TBH I prefer the shop discounts from the UC questline to the Star Eagle from the Freestar quests. I don't like the Viking cockpit it uses - I can't see out of it
Then do what everybody else does when they don't like a certain part of their ship - change it. You should be flying your ship in third-person view anyway. And realistically, in-universe you'd have sensors to "see" all around the ship, so the actual view isn't as important.
The morning ritual continues. Cup of coffee and a great review.
I'm imagining in a game that you have a lifetime membership to terrabrew.

Access to the Vanguard weapons/shield ship parts, there are no Freestar parts.
CF how did you come up with the teal/off orange ship colors of the LS on the cover screen ?
I was trying to go for a uc vanguard style so I chose those two colours
@@CrimsonFlyboy great review !! thanks for the reply !! (great colours 👍)

You need a Class B reactor to use the Hellfires, but hey, with a Class B reactor you can mount Vanguard's Bulwark shield generator.

Early on, the discounts are nice, but when you get to the point where you have lots of credits, the discounts aren't as useful
