I'm a grown man but power rangers really changed my life as a child. It taught me about doing the right thing and good always prevails over the bad even when things look rough. Even if it sounds corny
Same here, I was 7 when power rangers first aired, definitely good times and if we're talking about it almost 30 years later, it definitely made an impact 👍
Fun fact, Ron Wasserman did an interview not too long ago about his work for Power Rangers...he came right out and said THIS among all the PR songs he did is his favorite. 🙂
To the fallen Rangers: you were always the heroes we needed in this dark, forsaken planet. You showed us the light in the darkest of times and gave us the opportunity to look beyond the darkness and believe in something worth fighting for. You gave us the creativity and hope to strive forward and persist. You gave us great life lessons and sacrifices that will never be neglected. You will never be forgotten. RIP Thuy Trang and Jason David Frank.
Wait Jason David Franks is dead?! *Checks google chanting "no, it is just an internet hoax, no it is just an internet hoax,"* *find several pages revealing it is not a hoax* NOOOOOOOOOOO
Not just Thuy Trang and JDF, Peta Rutter: Udonna, Pua Magasiva: Shane, Alistair Browning: Xenowing, and Bruce Allpress: Master Phant. May the power forever protect these rangers.
Listening to this and balling my eyes out because we lost our hero. Once a ranger always a ranger, we still needed you JDF you will be sorely sorely missed. I wish this had a different ending, always my hero. The man may not have been perfect but he was an inspiration to myself. I wouldn't be here without that wholesome safe space that power rangers provided me in my 20s. It's such a shame that a man who helped so so so many people fight against mental health didn't have enough support himself. My heart is broken.
What is it about this show that keeps us looking back to it? The music? The characters? Or is it because this show was a HUGE part of our childhoods? I am grown up now and I still find myself loving it...It puts this feeling in my heart and in my gut that words just can't describe. I just don't know what it is... Anyone else know?
I remember watching the first episode back in 93. I saw the previews of it before it aired and saw all the colorful suits and thought I'd check it out. After the first episode I was hooked!!!! Here I am in my 30s!! Thank You Power Rangers for all of the Memories and for helping to make my childhood memorable!!! ⚡⚡⚡🙏🏿 RIP Jason David Frank 🕊️ RIP Thuy Trang 🕊️
Exactly. The man was always a beacon of positivity and perseverance. I guess it just goes to show that depression can take down even the strongest among us.
At first I still couldn't believe it that the hero we grew up is gone. Everyone needs heroes but not like this. Depression can ruin you in more ways than one.
I'm literally playing this song on my guitar to pay respects to the greatest power ranger of all time Jason David Frank. He was my childhood idol and like a brother. Thank you for the memories JDF! RIP 💚🤍♥️🖤⭐
What a creative genius. You had to have been there in the early to mid 90s to appreciate it when MMPR had fresh episodes after school. I think when the show first came out it was in the morning right when school started atted. When these songs started playing during the putty fights the show evolved more than just for kids, but for new teens too. I guess I was lucky and when mmpr went past zero I was already in high school and grew out of it. My mom forced me to by giving away all my mmpr stuff. What made this show appeal to me was the fact that I took karate and also liked the positive messages. The whole mmpr concept. The sege genesis movie game used this music too. I've been watching mmpr on pluto and it brings back memories.
One of my workout albums now hits harder cause RIP My Green/White Ranger! 💚🐉🤍🐅🙏 MMPR was my childhood like most 90s kids! I still have action figures amd will Forever Cherish them! 💪🥊
I was almost 34 years old, playing MMPR The Movie for the Genesis for 20+ years, and I only just realized level 4 in the genesis version was based on this song..
RIPJDF and Thuy Trang And judging from the recent trailer of the MMPR Reunion special, Trini’s (in character) death is officially confirmed! Holy shit! Well, at the very least she literally died a hero in universe.
Why is We Need A Hero make me sad yet hopeful? This somehow a actually a really good song what the fuck and some good lyrics!?! The "We keep dreaming of a world where good is all we can find" is actually pretty deep for a ranger song and this is sounding REALLY crazy from GOD DAMN POWER RANGERS- it blows my mind but this might be my favorite MMPR song just because of the actual good lyrics.
Agreed with caption!! This is definitely Rons best work. Literally goosebumps everytime i hear the chorus AND the fucking breakdown half way in... Hes a fuckin OG did all this on Synth!
OMG. I only kind of liked power rangers when I was younger, but man, this music is so freakin' nostalgic. I wouldn't have even heard this song again had my bf not told me to look it up! lol
Definitely the best version of this song. There’s another one that was heard throughout season 2 and 3 but it doesn’t sound as good as this one from season 1. What I can’t understand is why they only released this one but the other songs like Combat and Fight only got the S2 versions released.
Exactly! There’s also a season 1 version of I Will Win on Power Ranger Media. But I really wish they had combat, fight and 541 S1 versions out somewhere. You can tell throughout those songs run time in the show they’re a lil bit longer and have a few variations to them. ‘Hey Rita, go green ranger’ also are different from their S1 versions
Ron Wasserman wrote that he was inspired by Judas Priest and Black Sabbath when creating the entire soundtrack, since he was listening to them very actively at the time. So it's not surprising.
