Good to see young man be humble. Just recently joined a plumbing company after being self employed for 7 years and my goodness these 20 year olds have a huge ego! Keep it up Brodie! You’ll be a journeyman in no time 💪🏼
Thanks man! And crazy theirs multiple 20 y/o we only got 3 total at this company thankfully their all cool. And man hopefully the time flies, thanks for the comment :)
From my experience I did a lot of watching enjoy it while you can and actually watch what people are doing. And just picking up stuff you’ll do really really small things because it takes a while to get the groove of things but it really does depend on you and what you want to get from plumbing. Best of luck to you I hope you really enjoy the trade!
Use a dry rag. Wet rags turn the joints black and dont really clean all the flux off, for whatever reason. They end up holding on to the liquidized flux and it stays on, I guess. Then it makes every joint dirty if you keep using it Dry rags, even a filthy dry rag doesn't do that. I dot know why, but it doesn't. You won't get the "shiny clean" look on the pipe, but that goes way after a week anyway
@@PM.PLUMBINGdamn bro we start at $21.03 here in OKC. I just started a month ago and love it. My foreman had us soldering on day 1, he’s cool as hell he’s only 28 and been doing this 10 years. I want to start recording probably after a few months. I want to get a chest go pro harness. But love your videos bro good luck!
@@mrink241 no way 21!?! Dude that’s great and especially if you got to soder on day one. My foreman’s pretty cool good vibes. And def do it man, fuck it as long as you keep working it shouldn’t be an issue, def leave a comment when you upload I’ll be your first subscriber!
I’m a Plumbing Technician in CA and I make an average of $1,500 week take home (after tax) Mon-F 8am -6pm off sat and Sundays but it’s straight commission 18%. Mostly Residential and some commercial. 2-3 calls a day locally. Long days often and every day is different. It’s fun but you have to be good with people.
Dont hit the joint itself with flux. Hit the body of the fitting, so you dont foul the joint. Reqlly, its better to just lt it cool on its own, and wipe it with the dry rag. Its all getting insulated anyway.
I just tried to push it back in but my foreman said that I needed to take it off because it’s not okay like that. Once it comes off though it’s not usable?
@@PM.PLUMBING no happened to me once and you gotta mess with it to bring it down it won’t stay down since you have it strapped. Also because it’s not pressurized after the trap primer

Use a wet rag instead of the flux it won’t oxidize “ turn green”
Yea I’ve always wondered why like a couple days later it’d be green now I know

The green on copper is when the pipe oxidizes.
Leaving flux makes the pipe oxidize faster.
Appreciate the info :)
What kind of hands tools u used
How much do you make?
18 an hour in TX
