I love this episode to death. Not the strongest plot, but lovely characterisation, and I adore Bill’s 'chips' monologue in the cold open. The Doctor being a uni teacher seems right, Nardol’s character has settled down, and the continuing use of my favourite TARDIS interior ever.
I agree with your assessment, I liked Clara, but Bill feels like a breath of fresh air. Doctor Who thrives on evolving and changing up it's lineup every now and then.
I love how it plays a bit of Clara’s theme when she asked how would you feel if someone wiped your mind. And he knows something’s missing but not what. I do like how fresh Bill is. And I also liked how Bill is never going to have a flirty relationship with him. A friend is good. A friend is needed.
All the folks who stopped watching the show during Capaldi's first 2 seasons will never know what they were missing out on. After Clara's storyline with 12 (which, no offence, I just didn't care about. I think her completing the Impossible Girl arc by jumping into 11's time stream should have been the perfect ending for her), this series was a definite return to form for the show.
Been waiting for this for soo longgggg :D really glad that Deepa enjoyed the episode. Bill will always be one of my favourite companions. Can't wait to see what Deepa thinks of the rest of her adventures
Deepa says heather is creepy. I've never really thought that myself. Then Luke points out that Bill doesn't think anything of it cause she fancies her.. Yep, I'm busted, big lesbian here
Fantastic reaction as always! I'm so excited that you're into series 10. Part of the freshness is the fact that Bill is the first new real companion for 12. Another part is Bill - I love her and she's different than Amy or Clara. This TARDIS team has some real chemistry.
Surprised you guys cut out all the nods to River and Susan, essentially his only family. He clearly is yearning for something like family in this one, it's probably the most Susan-reference heavy since The Five Doctors. Something about Bill definitely reminds him of his wife's and granddaughter's curiosity or adventurousness.
You two are the best reactions together. I would love to see you two react to another show one day and when she said imagine how it feels if someone did this to you. I thought about Clara there.
There's like an image of a Dalek on the screen for about three seconds in one of the episodes, so that's not quite "it" for the Daleks in series 10 if we want to get pedantic about it... which I do!

You can probably say it again and all you like. I’m guessing they don’t really care. They are 2 best mates watching Doctor Who on camera for an average of 3K views per video, and under 10K subscribers. They’re not exactly doing it for the money. You can tell in their dynamic they’re watching doctor who because they want to, and they’ll do it how they like cos they’re not getting paid. There’s more than plenty of reaction channels who take doctor who reactions seriously. You can go watch them, but I for one come and stay for the best friends dynamic.
