Do you think having a professor-mentor at the university you’re applying to for grad school is as important in clinical psych as in anything research based?
Hi there! I wouldn't necessarily say it's important. But I would say it's probably helpful, in that it can give you some foresight into what being a student at that institution might be like. Having a mentor/research advisor in the program you're applying for could also help your application, but this is never a guaranteed "in." Research experience itself is important though, so try to get as much as you can prior to applying for any program
