so rare to find a good youtuber these days. great video. I've watched like three videos about how to install this and this was definitely the most 'smartly' put together one (idk if that's even a word)
Like how he was thorough explaining the whole process. Especially with the circuit tester. That light strip does look pretty cool darn cool in that kia
That's awesome, wish I could put this on my Lexus but it's all sealed up other than the sides, would think it looks better if it could work on the front of my car..but it's sealed up with that rubber weather strip thing. Who knows. In any case, great install video, you seem like a super cool dude, hope your daughter loves that work as much as you do, looks awesome.
I've seen a couple of these videos and they always show it already wired in, and they're telling us what they did. Man I need to see exactly how you wired it up.
@@WikedWips yeah i did see that, but as a complete novice, i have no idea how to even tap into these or connect properly to the fuse box, as it seems that i need another connector or something because all the light strip comes with is tiny wires on the end and i cant find a simple video telling me how to connect those ends, the black, ground yes i can do, but the red wire i have no idea what im doing with
You mean tap into the fuse box with and addifuse?! I definitely could have, but 95% of the people who see this would be scared and give up doing it....so the easy(still safe) way 2 do it was tapping into the wire.
Great vid! 👍 may I ask why they get installed on the upper hood as opposed to the lower bumper so the wires won't need to possibly get pinched or hang down? Thx
I chose to install the strip underneath the hood due to the better adhesion of the strip. On the lower portion on this car, has some plastic trim which will not be a good candidate for sticking the strip. Also no wires are pinched or hanging loose because used wire management accessories that I placed in the description of the video.
Love the tutorial. Will definitely help others. 1 thing.. switch from that test light. Get a computer safe circuit tester. Seen too many blown computers and a few airbags. Keep grinding and sharing.
I have a light already using my ACC fuse on my fuse box. Is there another fuse slot you recommend to use for this strip? I see an A/C fuse and a Wiper motor fuse. Which do you think is best?
This is where your circuit tester comes in handy.... Test another fuse with the Ignition off, make sure the circuit tester does not light up and then test it again with the Ignition on and make sure it only has power when the Ignition is in the run position.
I'm struggling to find out where to wire them up to.. I have my lights on auto and would like them to come on with the day running light.. or just ignition. Thank you
Well it's not hard at all as long as you have a circuit tester. I've noticed a lot of people don't have them and they're like 5 bucks at the auto store. Get one it will help you greatly to figure out which wire has power when the car is off and when the Ignition is on.
Great tutorial. Does it matter if u install on the hood part or on the bottom side.. it looks like the lights are getting a beating everytime u close the hood
Question, will this not reduce the airflow to cool your engine down, as manufactures leave this small gap between ther bonnet and the car for a reason..? as much is it s a cool look, it sealing up another vent for hot air to escape is it not ?
I see ur point but the sides of the hood are not blocked at all....also there has to be some form of gap in order to open and close the hood/bonnet....also food for thought, my Ram1500 and Subaru both have rubber Seals blocking the same space when the hood closes.
@@WikedWips I bought this for my Subaru Legacy 2017 and notice that there is a seal along the front of the hood. Is it possible to remove this and still install the LED the same way you did? It looks like it would be angled up instead of forward.
On my Kia optima there is a rubber gasket at the front edge of the hood. I would have to remove that to get a gap for the light to show. Does the forte not have that?
Where did you tap into with your fuse tap? Before I bought some fuse taps, the seller warns not to tap into any primary fuses ex. Ignition, ecu... The only place to tie into otherwise (under the hood) is the DRL's. Then you won't have these lights on at night. Thanks
@WikedWips my apologies, I've watched so many that I must have got yours mixed up lol. What wire did you tap into? The only place I can find that isn't 40 amps or more is inside my car. Thanks
Click on 3:05 and it will take you to the part of the video where I tapped.....also depending on ur car, you can just you a fuse tap(addifuse) on the ACC fuse. Test a 10 or 15amp fuse that only has power when the Ignition is on.

@@WikedWips well yes the backside is to the hood. But the other side When you close the hood you dont want that to stick to anything. So one side is left on? Also, couldnt you just use a fuse tap for the feul pump relay fuse? No wire cutting?

@WikedWips I would like to install this on my Hyundai and i see the LED strip sits on hood seal (aka hood weather strip). Is this going obstruct what the seal is supposed to do or does this break Hyundai warranty as far as you know?
The seal there insulates or reduces the noise of wind blowing in the engine bay. The led strip would block the wind instead of the seal... Even if the strip wasn't there, I'm pretty sure it doesn't void warranty.
I need to know since you didn’t show it on the video but when using a turn signal, does the strip also follow with the turn signal sequence? If so, will it be yellow turn sequence or white turn sequence? Also can this be connected to the headlights from “DRL”? Daytime running lights.
Hey brother, I didn't show it because it wasn't meant for a turn signal...but I'm sure if you connected it to a turn signal it would work buttttttt it would have the same start up sequence as you saw in the video which would look ridiculous as a turn signal.
yeah, no worries I was just wondering if it was possible and if only half turn on when you turn left, and when you turn right only the other half turn on, but for sure I will not try it😅 I was just curious how the strip would’ve worked. Thanks for explaining.😊
Question. I've watched a few installation videos and a lot of others stick the strip under the hood instead of on the hood. Why did you choose the hood?
Because every car/truck is not the same. For instance the mounting surface might not be conducive for 3m tape adhesion....and/or say for instance my Ram 1500, I also mounted it directly on the hood because if it's mounted under the hood & I had to take off my grill, I'd have to pull off the strip as well....so call it future planning 😉
@WikedWips ok. I have a '21 Kia K5 and the hood has an "overbite" so I'm not to sure how that would work but I guess I'll have to give it a try at both positions to see which will look best. Thanks.

I actually have it on my Ram, that will be the next video in a couple weeks cause I have other sponsored vids to put out. But it looks dope and yes since it's a white running light, should be legal cause it's not like a light bar.
@@WikedWips lol that light bar helps in upstate New York at night Looking forward to that video I have a 2012 ram so the hood is gonna look a little different.
A better option would have to install around the grill and engine bay. Instead of around the hood that you have to repeatedly open. Wires will break over time. So having them move less the longer they last
As I said in the video, around the grill, there's like a rubber/vinyl piece that the adhesive won't stick to, that's the reason I stuck it on the underside of the hood. Also, the way I ran it, there is no movement of the wires.

Message me on Instagram @Wikedwips2.0 I can send u a video
🔥🔥🔥
Thank you
I installed this on my Ram truck 😃
Φίλε μού Πολύ καλό!!!! Σε ποιό διακόπτη το ενώνεις?
3:05 😊
What is the reason for this?
Used as a running light
Great Video! Thanks!
No worries 😃
How safe are these?i dont want anything too short and burn my car
It wouldn't short because it has an inline fuse for protection! I explained this in the video.
Some people put them on the bottom
I'd argue that most people do, cause they follow the commercials....I think outside the box.
Anybody know any tesla owner install this hood light to their tesla ?
Awesome job
Much appreciated!
Damn excellent video!!!!
Thank you 😃
@@WikedWips do you know if it’ll fit a 2019 Dodge Ram?
I have it on my 16 Ram Sport, vid will be out in a couole weeks
@@WikedWips can you please show how to keep wires tucked in & clean?

A better option would have to install around the grill and engine bay. Instead of around the hood that you have to repeatedly open. Wires will break over time. So having them move less the longer they last
As I said in the video, around the grill, there's like a rubber/vinyl piece that the adhesive won't stick to, that's the reason I stuck it on the underside of the hood. Also, the way I ran it, there is no movement of the wires.
No, a better option for you maybe, but that’s not the purpose, is for the car hood
