I worked with the producer and director of the 'Dukes of Hazard' Ralph Riskin. When I met him he was the PR director of a company I worked for in Santa Barbara in the late 1990s. Ralph was a prince of a man and a real gent. He had some fascinating stories about Hollywood in the golden age and of some famous players in that era. One story was that after Doris Day became popular Oscar LeVant said this 'I knew Doris Day before she was a virgin'... ha ha ha hilarious. Ralph's uncle Robert Riskin was a famous playwright and screenwriter. I got the feeling from Ralph that he thought the 'Dukes of Hazard' was a silly enterprise loaded with fluff. A few times he told me that actors were for the most part mentally ill and quite insane. Ralph crossed over a few years ago and the world is less for it... I was never a major player in his life just a coworker. When I left that company Ralph was right there to shake my hand and wish me well.
Brian, that was a very fascinating tour at that restaurant Daisy D. It is very classy in a great way. Those great waitresses of course are very beautiful but, I see they are very intelligent too. Like college females. The modern day Filipina are very alluring and style will bring credence to the Philippines. I really hate when people put down Filipina females. Having been station in Clark Air Base, Philippines. Filipina really in my opinion the most bravest, intelligent and serious of all Asian in particular and women in general in my opinion. The prices are well worth it for Americans and other foreigners at Daisy D. Even, I think locals too. I hope down the road you may do a story if they have a chain of restaurants. Now, many dudes go to clubs and are fascinated with old style show looks but, seeing this is more tasteful. Especially you know the chances of being around drunk individuals is low while you of course eat great, watch TV and admire the friendly beauty of these young women, and not feeling like you are in the club being taken for a ride of pretend in my opinion. With no disrespect for those who do work in the club, I know they have to make money for the owners, plus most of the women are just wanting to work only too. Thanks Brian for this. GOD bless to the Philippines and GOD bless to America for being able to afford to live in the Philippines.
Only thing missing is the orange juice, looks great. If you can survive driving in the Philippines than you can survive driving anywhere, sounds more like it.
From my experience living there it doesn't matter if they had stop signs or traffic lights - no one takes a blind bit of notice of them. Except on Clark and down on Subic.
Hey Brian my dear friend, first of all, you don't have an ugly face. You have one of the most friendliest faces that I have ever seen. Maybe the seagulls can't handle the tropical climate. This establishment looks very nice. I definitely have to visit Daisy D's when I get back to the Philippines. Your breakfast looks absolutely delicious Brian. It's making me hungry. Yum yum. Your grandmother was right, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And those are some very beautiful Filipinas. I have driven in the Philippines Brian , it's definitely an adventure. Thank you Brian my dear friend for sharing this awesome video . Please stay safe and healthy , and God bless you , lot ,Borges, Miguel , Hannah grace , Bing Bing , and the rest of your beautiful family . And may God bless your awesome pets .😊 😊 😊 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
I agree I really appreciate a good breakfast also to start my day and looks like a nice place for some cold beers also with the pretty ladies and pool table.I am yet to find a sports bar with a fooseball table in the Philippines. I prefer to dive my car then on my motorcycle hope soon I can enjoy my retirement there also. Be safe thanks for the share.
sure brought back some memories, I was born in Angeles but grew up in purok cinco sta. cruz. You even when by the Philippine Rabbit terminal where my Mom and I took to ride to Manila to get my paper work ready for me to come to the United States. I was so happy to see parts of the Holy Rosary Church. I have been there in many times for all the midnight mass. Thank you for the little tour sure Loved it.
You read the viewers mind when you turn the camera around for the scenery instead of the selfie. People most likely want the day happening and its a lot better when done on a car than a motorbike. Good you showed us a couple of Daisy D's for this episode!
Mr Brian when I was farming in Texas back in the seventies I use to see seagulls 400 miles from the Gulf coast. They would follow us plowing in the spring diving down to get the red worm. Good video I enjoyed it.Nice looking waitress.
I remember driving through Tuguegarao and it was much like what I see here. No stop signs, no traffic lights. At one point I came to an intersection where 5 streets came together. There was no obvious straight through. There were scooters, motorcycles, cars, vans and they just merged and crossed each other. Things just went smoothly and no one really stopped. It was awesome. Also driving down roads which connected one province to another tended to be two 2-lane roads. There would 2 lanes going north and 2 lanes going south. The road had ox, scooters (sometimes with 5 people on 1 scooter), cars, vans and these huge trucks with loads so big they would be considered illegal in America. I was in a van. I never had to slow down for the slower vehicles. A tap on the horn so they knew I was coming. On the shoulder would be ox, passing the ox would be scooters, I'd be passing the scooters on their left, even though there were really only 2 lanes in each direction, people ignore the lines and just co-existed in harmony. Once or twice in a week someone might cause a merge issue from a blind side street but you just reacted, adjusted and things worked out. It was pretty awesome. You could also just feel the places someone had spread out their rice on the right lane or shoulder. You'd come around a corner and the curb lane would be full of rice set out to dry. You just kind of knew to stay in the left lane so as to not drive over the farmers rice. No one rented space at the barangay hall to spread out their rice. haha. Driving in the province and north towns was definitely an experience. As a former racer, it would kind of like driving on the race track and anticipating where everyone would be and driving according to the physics rather than any rule of the road. I loved it. Driving in towns was a little harder.
I was born and grew up near the shore but never seen a sea gull in my life. I saw swallows. There are plenty of crane birds in the rice field standing in the carabao back.
My favorite (American Breakfast Restaurant) in the Philippines is the biker cafe outside of the Mall of Asia in Manila on the waterfront next to Planet Hollywood. That place looks awesome though Dukes of Hazard was my favorite childhood tv show.
I'll be moving to the Philippines hopefully by the end of this year (Trying to talk my wife into living on Luzon instead of Mindenao where she is from) as a Veteran 1998-2004 and a WWII history nerd I love Corregidor and Fort Drum ( I was once stationed at the other Fort Drum....the frozen s#!t hole in Northern New York) but there are many places over there I want to visit that I didn't get to see my first three trips.
There are 4 species of seagulls in Philippines, they just aren't very common as most gulls breed in colder climates as food is more plentiful (found that from information on Google, I'm no ornithologist)..
I agree Brian breakfast is the main meal, it supplies the energy for the day. I couldn't do the Phillipine breakfast it's American style for me. I'm in Md. and there's lots of seagulls here by the bay and of course Ocean City. Hearing them and the smell of the salty water is hard to beat. That looked like a decent breakfast eggs just over done. I like to do soft boiled eggs 6 1/2 min. boiling in a covered pot = perfect soft boiled egg.
Definitely...whenever you're near a camara, it should always be in non-selfie mode 😂😂😂 Eggs totally over-cooked...one yolk looks rock hard! I'll just stick with "The Ville" whenever I'm in town for my breakfasts...the oldest and still the best. I don't need skimpy claid waitresses with my bacon and eggs. Oh, and no gulls in Thailand either, in fact, never seen any in Bali or Malaysia either; they must be a more temperate climate species.
So you had eye candy along with your breakfast? Appreciate the vlog of DD. Enjoy the variety of topics on your channel. Stay safe and healthy. God bless you and your family.
Yes, I used to miss seagulls, I even wrote an article about it back in the 90's. I think it is because the eggs were considered a delicassy? I also think the birds prefer a cooler climate.
**Official Statement Release from the Beater Boyz Squad** Daisy D’s - hot coffee, hot breakfast, hot women. The squad is fully loaded and ready to COME get in on the ACTION!!!!!
My Grans'd agree with your Grandmother. My Mum's Mum was also a real big fan of Sunday Roast Dinner/Lunches After church! Had to google Texas Toast looks really good. If I couldn't eat it, I ask for a doggy bag for lunch, but thats just me if I like the meal. My friends were usually embarrassed by me doing that. Nice 1 m8, you an yours stay safe an well!
I think the statement "If you can drive in the Philippines you can drive anywhere in the world" means that if you can drive in the chaos of Philippine traffic, you can drive in any chaotic country's traffic. Thing is traffic in some places is more chaotic than the Philippines. I know India has a chaotic traffic, Africa has chaotic traffic as well.
Dominican republic traffic is literally a free for all, I have seen up to 5 people (yes it wasn't a typo, 5 people)on a scooter , and almost every car has dents in the front, sides and rear, especially around the Puerto plata area.
Brian nice to hear you enjoy the New Jersey USA shore . You know the Seagulls are saying ... mine mine mine ... when they swoop onto some French Fries .
Restaurant looked really nice with friendly staff, but there was a couple of things missing , baked beans, mushrooms tomatoes etc, do they do these items too ? Nice chilled out vlog philly, regards from dreary old England 👍👍
Another great vid. I grew up with the Dukes of Hazzard, fast cars and Daisy Duk.... what's not to like?.....lol When i can finally get back i will check them out, that breakfast looks good......
Seagulls nest on the ground. In Okinawa they lost all the sea birds to invasive predators. They brought in mongoose to eat the snakes and they just ate the rest of the bird eggs.
Hey Brian I know it's late 2 watch this video but I m caching up good info as always you just gave me some info I was not aware of it ..Thanks again and God pls stay safe my friend..🍻
Filippinas I've met here in the us and those when I lived in the philippines are relatively naive. Not very worldly . Just looking for a foreigner to get them and their families through life.
Seagulls aka shit hawks. No need to be by the ocean they are everywhere here in Canada. Anywhere there is water there is shit hawks. Daisy D's looks great and seems very reasonable. My breakfast would probably get cold cause I would be too busy checking out the girls haha.
There is actually no such thing as a "Seagull" which would seem to indicate a bird which lives primarily near the sea. They are called "Gulls" and they generally live near water, but it could be lake, a stream, ocean or sea. They come in many different forms. You are probably visualizing a larger bird, which will hover above you if you throw food to them, but gulls also come in smaller versions. We have them here, living in parking lots, during the daytime, searching for food. I always called them Terns (as in Arctic Terns) because the few times that I have seen them, it was winter and during a snowfall. Anyway, the Philippines does have Gulls. I've seen a couple of videos on TH-cam where they were the subject of the video and were being observed at Manila Bay.
There was once a time in Angeles city that casual dining and drinks were almost non-existent outside of a hotel. Bars were girls and loud music only with little to no options for just having a few drinks and a meal and relaxing
I said that no seagulls in the Philippines. But in Hong Kong seagulls lol. Maybe to far from main land. Breakfast looked good price for that 18$ in Ottawa Canada
Traffic in S.Korea, Vietnam, Mombasa Keyai even more insane. Olongapo Magsaysay Drive was pretty scary back in 1980 & 81 was a hairy too as I remember And diesel/Kerosene exhaust smell was really bad
Brian that place you ate at looks nice but the waitress was hot.I think if I come to Angles City I want breakfast there. God bless you and your family.
I just had a late breakfast with some pancakes (no eggs that day) over at Denny's one day and I got so sick around dinner I thought I was going to die. Coming out of both ends for hours. I don't want that again but I don't know how to stop it :(
Breakfast looks very nice there il try it wen im bk there, I remember thinking the same about Seaguls wen i was in philippines 2 years ago iv never seen i coud eat chees burger or somthing outside without seagul coming from behind and try 2 attack it wich has happend 2 me few times along the sea side here in UK
Wow, the food and scenery looks excellent. I would definitely make that a regular stop.
Nice clean place. Breakfast looks really good. Just by looking at it, 5 stars. 10 on the Daisy D's girls.

My kind a place! I love that they had the Arizona/BYU game on a couple of the TV’s. This place is a chip off of Mt. Awesome!!

Breakfast looked awesome and the price was sweet. Both ladies were attractive but more importantly they seemed like nice young ladies too.
The staff is very friendly and very cute... Love those Daisy Dukes....

wow an expat that acts half way normal we need more of this
That breakfast looks very good thanks for sharing Brian
Nice spot Brian! .. looks like they didn't fix anything up in walking street now that they have all the time to really clean it up.
I remember driving through Tuguegarao and it was much like what I see here. No stop signs, no traffic lights. At one point I came to an intersection where 5 streets came together. That looks like an awesome place.
The king of breakfasts. Looks great.
I enjoyed the good show. I couldn't had did a better video. Looked like a nice place for the Philippines. Thanks for video.

I will definitely visit that place when I go to Angeles :)
I would eat at Daisy D's even if the food wasn't that great.
Ya like the General Lee THAT much??????

Wow the pic!!! Thanks for the video 📹.
nice looking breakfast. Good price
There are less seagulls in tropical regions, they prefer cooler regions.
I think Brian is suggesting that there is more than the coffee that is hot😂
Well, the chicks are hot 🔥, very hot!
Yep smoking pinays. They are everywhere over there 👍.
He’s correct!
exactly what i thought!!
Yes, I used to miss seagulls, I even wrote an article about it back in the 90's. I think it is because the eggs were considered a delicassy? I also think the birds prefer a cooler climate.

Brian I noticed the was no seaguls also I Google it and its because it is too hot for them in the tropical climate. Guess our chips are safe 😂
Brian nice to hear you enjoy the New Jersey USA shore . You know the Seagulls are saying ... mine mine mine ... when they swoop onto some French Fries .
So Brian ,I'm liking the General Lee just not sitting under it ,,in case of an Earthquake Yikes! Tell Daisy I'll be there ASAP and to wait for me !
Looks like breakfast for 2 at a good price hopefully it will make it through the CV
Philippines. Seagulls in general are less common in tropical regions, most kinds prefer colder regions.
It is great to hear a Philly accent on a video. When you retired, did you experience any loss of identity?
Restaurant looked really nice with friendly staff, but there was a couple of things missing , baked beans, mushrooms tomatoes etc, do they do these items too ? Nice chilled out vlog philly, regards from dreary old England 👍👍
A full English from the greasy spoon.
Another great vid. I grew up with the Dukes of Hazzard, fast cars and Daisy Duk.... what's not to like?.....lol When i can finally get back i will check them out, that breakfast looks good......

Looks like a good bfast. It would be good to see you take Lot there one day
Breakfast looked good. Eggs were over cooked for me. Not over easy. Looked Medium well. Like the Pool table.
Sea Gulls are also called Ocean Chicken, GETS
Filippinas I've met here in the us and those when I lived in the philippines are relatively naive. Not very worldly . Just looking for a foreigner to get them and their families through life.
Breakfast looks delicious 😋

Watergulls.
no banana katchup for breakfast?
Maybe you can show the hotel next time. Seems like a nice place for breakfast.
Have a go around at Plaridel I used to live in that area near the old Capt Cook Hotel "The Fish"
OMG! That waitress in those shorts.wow!
The last I heard, Seagulls overstayed their visa and aren't allowed back in...
The hat is back!! Yes!!
I'd eat that .......the breakfast looked good too
Traffic in S.Korea, Vietnam, Mombasa Keyai even more insane.
Olongapo Magsaysay Drive was pretty scary back in 1980 & 81 was a hairy too as I remember
And diesel/Kerosene exhaust smell was really bad
In new York city you sed in downtown NYC all time, greetings from new York city.
Over easy three my style crispy bacon hash browns toast!
GUAM 🇬🇺 LOVE THE STROLL 🚗 AND ....ESPECIALLY THE DAISY D'S 😋🍳🥓🥞
Come on Brian. Dippy Eggs and scrapple is where its at.
Brian that place you ate at looks nice but the waitress was hot.I think if I come to Angles City I want breakfast there. God bless you and your family.
Oo Kase daw mababaho daw kayo.maligo kayo.bakasyon.kuha kayo Bahay Dito marame pa bakante.
Eggs over well over there is to prevent food poisoning. Many don’t wanna risk having the “tourist” getting sick and complaining
I just had a late breakfast with some pancakes (no eggs that day) over at Denny's one day and I got so sick around dinner I thought I was going to die. Coming out of both ends for hours. I don't want that again but I don't know how to stop it :(
Cardiac Plate If I ever saw one! :)
Seagulls are a cooler climate animal. You generally don't see them the closer you get to the equator
