  • INdoor carpet RC car racing is at its best when all cars are equal and driver ability is what determins the winner and not the guy with the deepest pockets
In this video Mark builds his “race winning” Tamiya TT02 in preparation for the 2nd TH-cam race.
But who will win? Will it be:
    ‪@PopalongRC‬ ?
    ‪@RCKickschannel‬ ?
    ‪@ClairesRCs‬ ?
    ‪@KevinTalbotTV‬ ?
    ‪@noahsrcs1808‬ ?

I just swapped to hex screws. Dirt cheap from accu, as the rc specific ones can be pricy. Unless you want titanium etc the cheap stuff will be fine

I enjoyed your build video. I think there are some good tips in there. I think the race will be fun. TT02 classes are becoming more popular in the states. Having been in a few TT02 races, I would suggest that someone bring a few spare parts. Sometimes the front uprights can be weak. Good luck in the upcoming race.

@@PopalongRC I am sure you all are very clean drivers. But, the pipes, walls and hard hits can take a toll. These cars are not as durable as off road cars. I think it would be bad if one or more drivers were taken out in one or two laps. This is just a suggestion.

Tamiya kits are always fun. I only built two one for me, and one for my grandfather, only differences between ours is that mine has a 32$ servo, an onyx motor and ESC brushless setup, and metal bearings. Now I’m working on an Xpress FT1S fwd chassis for racing. Enjoyed the build video, you did a great job!

@@PopalongRC You already know I'm gonna try racing the nationals when I get better with it, lol. It'll be so satisfying to get it all finished. Also if you haven't already, there's this really cool track down here in Florida, Coral Springs RC track, it's a real great place and it'd be cool to see us show up on the channel! I feel like you should also go over different classes to race if you haven't. I'm not new to the channel, but I'm also not a seasoned viewer, so, I'm not really keen on what you've posted already but keep posting! It's really helpful that you make these videos!

The MB-01 is coming out soon, should be cheap and good for the M-class. No idea why they should re-release the M03 when the M05 was better at the same price? The MB01 would hopefully be a really good M-class base for a M-class raceclass. The m07 and m08 apparently kinda killed the tamiya M-class, as it made a cheap class require that you buy a 200+ euro chassis to even be cmopetetive. Guess we'll see how it goes.
Flatheads work, but just get a set of JIS(japanese industry standard) screwdrivers for tamiya screws. You can get them as screw bits, so doesnt need to be ultra expensive.
    TT-02 looks lovely. :)
The youtuber race should be intresting as everyone drives the same cars(hopefully no shenanigans). 😆

@@PopalongRC I have similar feelings for the M02 :D But I think a single chassis(mb01) car that works for both front and rear wheel drive out of the box, sounds like tamiya might be on to something, espessially if it holds to the projected similar pricepoint as the m05. :)

It’s going to be interesting to see this race. I use the term race loosely! Running these on carpet is a disaster. Mind you running a Tamiya TT02 in general is a disaster hahahaha. With these on stock gearing and 17.5 blinky they go that slowly you don’t need to use the brake on a carpet track.
