May your Mom rest in peace
So sorry for the loss of your mom. My thoughts are with you and your family. I always enjoy your content and have followed you around the world over the past several years. Glad to have you back. While the equipment you discuss is well out of my price range and experience, there's always something something I can take away. In this case, the Shirley Horn album you reference: I just ordered it! Well within my price range. 🙂
Really sorry to hear the bad news. Glad you are back with us. Great review. Watched the vid all the way through despite a 0% chance of me ever owning a pair of Wilsons. 🙂
@@SonicFlare I remember that first vid you did with 45 RPM audiophile. 😁 I like how you stepped up your game to the point where you forced Iris Apfel over there to invest in a new camera and sound. 😆🤣
Sorry for your loss! Hope you’re doing ok. I have the Sabrina X and these videos are always making me think of upgrading sooner than later, but I do love them.
As I don’t really listen much to digital - 90% vinyl - I tend to stick to known measures. My CD player is EINSTEIN’s The Last Record Player; my DAC the Meitner MA3. As for pairings and all - who knows really.
@@SonicFlare thanks for the reply! Any thoughts on the loke sub? I’d imagine it’s been on your radar with the tunetots. There’s so little info on the loke out there.
Shirley Horn was oneof our natural wonders in that she played the Piano and sang as a unit. one of her card-tricks was to sing and play exceedingly slonw while at the same time...would swing. truly awesome.
Keep at it chief!!! Lol jealous of all your cool stuff!! I'm so glad you're so cool and self depreciating about it. Very sorry about the loss of your Mom.
I am always looking forward to watch your content. I'm so tired of youtube reviewers either reading down specs and features or telling me about black backgrounds and soundstage size. Thank you for standing out of the crowd. Also happy you get rid of this blue speakers.
I am glad you are back! This is turning out to be the channel I wasn hoping for, great content with my type of flare. Excuse the sad pun!:) Sorry for your loss Danny.
Well I can really relate to your change to the Sasha V. I went from the Alexx V then to the Alexia V and now I’m considering the Sasha V. Bottom line is I wanted to know if I could be satisfied with a smaller speaker. So far I still hear everything the smaller speaker can’t do. Mainly in the mids. So now I’m considering returning to the Alexx V.
Ooooh - that room -- and the goodies within...!!!! Positively drool worthy!! So interesting what you have to say about hearing the Wilson speakers at shows etc. They have always sounded a little clinical to me, but hearing/reading people whose ears I trust (like yourself and Fremer) wax rhapsodical about them, I yearn to hear them in a different setting with different electronics than the usual. (Not that I can afford them....!!!). Gotta pick up that Shirley Horn... So good to get a new video from you - hopefully the first of many (wink, wink!) But I did miss the canine content this time around...
My mother also has Alzheimers. Just put her in Hospice. She's not near end of life, but jst needs more care. Tough situation. Glad youi're back and making vids!
First of all, sorry to hear about your lost Danny. Second, like to thank you for showing amazing 2 records. And last, but not least, enjoyed your emotional touch on topic, mean Wilson's story. Thx!
Danny, quick question/observation: since you’re so sensitive to time and phase, have you had any interest in Vandersteen speakers? I auditioned Wilson’s in NYC and liked them very much but ended up with Vandersteen Quatro Wood CT’s because they sounded, to my ear, more cohesive, layered and natural. I can listen to them for hours and you just fall into the music. Thanks for the great content!
@@SonicFlare Thanks, Danny-and just to say, I absolutely love the color you chose for your Wilson’s, and I’m certain they sound as stunning as they look! ;)
Quick question not audio related: what brand watch band are you wearing with your Apple Watch Ultra? I love the blue color. Also, so sorry for the loss of your Mom.
If I may ask, how does the Wilson Sasha Vs compare to the Wilson Alexia V speakers? Which among the 2 speakers is more laid back, warmer and more full bodied sounding? Also, if my room has a dimension in feet of L-17X W-15X 7.5, which speakers would you suggest that I get? Thanks.
Thanks for the question - all Wilson speakers have the same tonal characteristics in my opinion: from the TuneTot to WAMM. As for more full bodied sound, the Alexia V due to it’s size of cabinet and woofers, will certainly play lower and with more ooompf… your room should be fine with either one of them. Do you have the opportunity to listen to them at a HiFi shop?
@@SonicFlare Actually not. But I decided to get the the Wilson Sasha V speakers because I've listened to the Wilson Watt Puppies and I was so impressed the way they sounded so I thought to myself, the more with the Sasha Vs. I would have wanted the Alexia's Vs but had budget constraints. Thanks a lot for the quick reply.
@@SonicFlare , By the way, another question, in regards to the Wilson Sasha Vs and Alexia Vs, are their sound more on the forward or laid back side? Thanks.
You talked more about the albums than the speakers. You own them, I can easily tell people about my experiences with the Verity's I own. I feel a little jipped.
Sorry for your loss.
Thank you. 🙏🏼

Funny: since upgrading to Alexia V, I get a lot of what XVX did in a more compact package. Alexia V is [surprisingly] a major step up from Sasha V.

Shirley Horn plays the piano on her records. Well known for being able to accompany herself.
