I love that you make me want to do small work it wasn’t really a favorite of mine but my grandmother crocheted with thread sewing thread and she would make doilies hundreds my mother is alive and she still has all her own doilies my sister Lisa made beautiful doilies !! Hmm, I tried crocheting this with a 2mm hook recommended for my polyester yarn but the first 7 rows weren't coming out flat at all ( since row 5). I think it's the yarn's fault, I will try again with different yarn because this pattern is beautiful
Any pattern will crumble little bit while making, it all depends on the yarns and hooks sizes, and mostly on the yarn tension. I always block my Doilies , pattern looks more prominent after that . Thank you 😊

Yeah you can do that,
But I prefer the other way as it's a doily, it takes long time to set on the blocking board.

Yeah I think this pattern comes more beautiful with finer yarns and compatible hook.
