Hey Matt, just a tip. When you are adjusting the paddle with the controller, step right beside your guardian boundary and move your head until you can faintly see through the guardian boundary and see your controller in the real controller and the controller in the game at the same time. It makes matching the real paddle with the virtual paddle much more easier.

Hi, dev here, a new paddle preset with model is coming out today (fingers crossed), where the in game paddle's V will perfectly match the adapter paddle's V...so there should be no correct. I was just wondering, if you go to VR-ADAPTER-R, and you go to edit, you should see the adapter by pulling it out...does that not match your adapter? (if you can stop by the discord to chat back and forth it'd be faster to troubleshoot) [ me:carrotstien discord: discord.gg/v8bwdwf ]
@@BMFVR we need to update the adapter implementation..cause right now, when you make a new preset from the adapter (which yuo didn't do in your vid), it's hard to line it up right...we need to provide a way to lock it in local coordinates
@@BMFVR If I remember correctly the model there should work just fine with the VR preset. I compared my velcro print with the ones with a clamp and they seem to match up exactly from my sample prints.
This looks like an improvement (if only for weight) from the paddle with a hinge I have. I ended up using lighter batteries (Energizer Utimate Lithium) and not using screws (plastic golf tee for the hinge, stick it in and "snip" the extra bit at the top, and a small black cable tie where the smaller screw goes, to keep it closed). I'll print this "hinge free" model when I get my 3D printer in September. And put something on that naked plastic handle. I used (part of) a tennis racket overgrip because I had spares but you can buy tennis table overgrip roll on Amazon. :)
I know Tyco is printing and selling these, which I appreciate. But any chance we could download (or even purchase) the .stl file if we want to print it ourselves? Thanks!

I have racket fury on the quest and I enjoy it quite a bit although the graphics can be a bit unrealistic at times. Now that this game has come out would you recommend ditching racket fury and buying this? Thanks

I have no issues with the controller and my attached handle grip for Racket NX or Eleven Table Tennis. I was raised on racket sports…. I don’t understand the need for a specialized instrument in these programs. It seems like a lot of money and work to ready the controller for use as a ‘paddle’ just for one game in a series of games I might play in succession. I guess it’s a personal preference… I do have an issue with the Person One: Tennis from the App Lab though…. The controller in a full sized ‘game’ of tennis is very awkward. I can see the need for a real and more substantial racquet in this instance. Perhaps, that will improve and change as the game is readied for full distribution by Oculus. I wish they would add a practice or wall mode to the Person One Tennis game, as they have in Eleven Table Tennis. ETT is a spectacularly realistic game. I fell down trying on the floor leaning against the table to reach for a short side net shot. That was a shocker for me and quite entertaining for others! 😂😂😂

It actually takes several hours for him to print and then you have to account for shipping which is included plus material. It's not all about how much it costs in material it's about his time and the cost of the printers he uses as well. No worries if you don't want one but $25 is more than fair and considering a ton of people have already ordered one others feel the same way.
Just got one and it works great with first person tennis using virtual desktop so its wireless! Couldn't get the ground balls now with the paddle its improved my game and made it more realistic.
I play table tennis in real life and this game is exactly like playing in real life.Its 99.9% the same so make sure you try it before you talk about it.

Raising your arm to lazely tap a virtual ball is nothing like real table tennis.

You can also raise your arm lazily, tapping a real ball. It depends on your skill. Just like in real life using your legs helps a lot in table tennis
