Dan, please can you say what do you think about the new Quest 3? I've read that there are some tracking issues because Q3's controller hasn't a diode ring as Q2 controller so the tracking is worse. I want to buy Quest specially for TT, I know that the graphics of Q3 is much better and it's better balanced on head but on the other hand we all know that good detailed tracking is very important in such fast sport. Also Q2 is almost 2 times cheaper so I'm not sure what to buy.
@@ernestryles who told you that? Adapters position the controller at different angles. The best adapters make the headset see the proper racket angle with the cameras and sensors. Realistic strokes need to be mapped to the adaptors.
@@SeanONeillPong you do realize the orientation of the controller in the adapter is irrelevant right? The controllers can be tracked in any orientation. All that matters is that you have the game configured for your specific adapter. Some adapters physically feel better than others but that’s all preference.
I’m really interested in playing this game because I love table tennis. . I want to buy a VR headset but I’m not sure which to get. Do you have any suggestions?
I want to see pros play against a top ranked player or high ELO in TT VR. Of the game is realistic enough then they would beat the VR player with some adjustment (considering they are much better at the real game) but it seems the game is a lot slower than real life.
I find it is faster than I had initially assumed. I think it is because of the noise. You hit it soft in 11vr and get a quiet 'pock' sound. Hit it hard, exact same sound. So you get no auditory ques for speed, but actually the ball moves fast while playing.
How much the skill goes down for pros when in VR? From the video, I think it goes down very far.. Right? So, the game is not as realistic as I thought?
I do not understand why these guys do not put more attention to the controllers and adapters. It blows my mind. Is it the Pro version of the controller better than the Plus due to the cameras for self tracking? What adapter is better, there are several in the market, I mean the adapter for the controller so that it is in a bat look alike thing.
If you have to stand about 3 meters away from the camera and your opponent also, it seems like it is not for something you can play in the living room....
Please play it with adaptors the level of immersion is crazy. Also people would really see the pros in their best, the controller is a bit confusing at the beginning. Because of this game I improved from the bottom of division two to the bottom of division one in our little town in two years. It feels like Truls is playing significantly worse in VR than it real life and I'm quite puzzled as to why. I am playing a lot of Eleven Table tennis myself and too me, while there is a difference with real life, I adapted really quickly. The only tricky thing is the serve, but I would expect a pro like Truls to be able to do topspins and all the rest quite reliably. In the game however he pretty much tries to block everything and when he does topspin, it seems to be a quite a weak one (compared obviously to what he can do otherwise) If they play online, then maybe it's ping or something else? I'm really not sure, would be great to see Truls do close to his full power in VR!
Not true, the game vibrates when you touch the blade and you can feel the contact. It might seem insignificant but it helps a lot with "feeling" the ball

Does it have different vibration when you smack? Drive? Or the stickiness of it resisting against the rubber when you spin? @@kenji2787 Absolutely, you should try this one with an adapter. This app has a lot of pottential, if you could add more trackers you could potentialy study yourself and track your movements and give feed backs for real life table tennis, I would say that one of the biggest downside of this app would be the use of VR headset, since it's expensive and heavy on your head
