The '83 draft gets all the publicity (and yes, it was one of the all-time great drafts, don't get me wrong), but Finks' other masterpiece was the '75 draft: Payton, Hartenstine, Virgil Livers, Revie Sorey, Bob Avellini, Tom Hicks, Doug Plank, and Roland Harper. That's a major chunk of the starting lineup for a whole bunch of seasons, plus they wouldn't have improved as much as they did without this infusion of talent.
The last Bears yearbook narrated by Jack Brickhouse. He retired from Bears radio after the 1976 season.
The '75 Draft was quite a haul for the Bears

@7:04, Jack talks about the OL, but two years later in 1977, they had a whole different group blocking for Payton.
Jim Finks laid the foundation for the great 1985 Bears.
❤ love it
Believe that Payton guy turned out ok
@10:55, how bad was Gary Huff? They show him throwing two TD's against Atlanta, and he still lost the game 13-10.
@11:14, WHO? I looked up this talented TE; he did not even have 100 total-purpose yards in his whole career.
Yeah, Fred who? I followed the Bears religiously back then and have zero memory of this guy.
Wow, they never really knew what they had in Sweetness. Out of the the rest, only Hartenstein made the Super bowl. Bobby Douglas....sigh
Man, it must have been tough for Brick Shithouse to narrate this
Nah, he gets paid for this
