As a government employee i want to add some more points: shortage of staff is one of the biggest problems. you often see one person handling thousands of people.for example 153 police personnel per 100000 people ( recommended - 196 ). other reason is uneven distribution of resources across various departments. there are a lot of departments that don't require as much resources as others. I am seeing this everyday and it baffles me why you are deploying 10 people for a work which can be done by 2 only and 2 people for which 10 are required. lack of funding ( Money ) : so for a lot of things it always comes down to why subpar material or quality is being delivered is lack of money. Money allotted to run the services ( for example designing the website ) is so low that you can't hire or tender it to costlier options and then ultimately you go for subpar services. Also for anybody wondering i do not indulge in any malpractices.

The only thing that'll bring is incompetence. Removal of ops is already disheartening to many employees. Leaves and holidays are only for class 3 and 4 employees, class 1 and 2 have to work 24x7, no private entity can function like that without increasing costs. Bureaucracy is not that simple, privatisation can streamline services, however for proper implementation, correct wings of govt needs to be privatized. You seriously think an industry expert earning crore will look for govt job? And you expecf someone who gave their whole life in the govt only to be fired for some misunderstanding?

I am a government servant and I sadly say that there is no proper mechanism to deal with the corruption. And if you choose to stay away from corruption , then you will be hostile to the already established corrupted officials in the system and have to face lots of trouble.
One more thing that government servants at the group c & d level justify corruption as their salary is low. This must be addressed.

When I was a kid, less than 10 years old-my father had to get my passport done. I vaguely remember spending more than 3 hrs just waiting outside the passport-office building on a row of steel chairs, facilitated with a sun-protection blue-tin roof. It was indeed a horrible, exhaustive experience. Cut to 2020-21 when I had to get my passport re-updated, I could attend my online lab class while being inside the Passport Seva Kendra, with the entire process taking less than 30 minutes. Privatization has truly been a revolutionary decision, which was very very long-overdue. However, better late than never. Even Aadhar updation in a Post Office took less than one hour. Things have changed, but we have miles to go before we relax.

You forgot that there are a lack of govt employees in govt offices.
you blamed govt officers but not Indian people. Indian people choose their voter on the basis of his caste, religion and often they choose a corrupt leader. How would these leaders improve bureaucracy when they themselves are corrupt.
Also the salary of an entry level ias officer is around 80k and watch his job. It doesn't compensate him.

1. If you'll go to any of the govt offices, you won't see young people much , and even if they are , they'll be the junior most in terms of their services so nobody treats them with equality.
2. The hierarchy in govt offices is very terrible, As an junior officer you can't give feedback to your seniors and if you try to , they'll create troubles in the employee's daily working life.
3. In the era of 3d printing, Govt banks and post offices are still using ribbon printers and 2000's ink printers . Which are highly inefficient wrt to the footfall
4. There is no dedicated tech team to resolve such issues, there are high chances that there will be an admin person (based on their Years of service obv) , who manages the devices and softwares as much as they can, without having any experience in computer engineering.
5. Not only the Public but the newer generation public servants are also very frustrated because of the inefficient environment in there

For some reason i have delt with Sbi and a private bank, work in sbi is done faster thn private bank , also complex issue resolution was resolved faster in SBI, although you dont have luxurious office, but then for that go to a hotel.

Totally single sided video to blame government employees, as i already mentioned in my office itself there are 4 vacancy ,in my circle there are 7 vacancies . I myself have 2 portfolios to monitor . There is no rule where it is mentioned the limit of work load on employees so we are totally exploited .i myself have 13 projects where i have to regularly and daily travel across 3 districts .

I am currently employed in a Public Sector Undertaking organisation. Aam bhasha mein sarkari naukri hi hai but thodi hatt ke. My organisation boasts to be amongst the pioneers of the industry but the truth is that they cannot even afford Microsoft Office for all the employees of the organisation.
This organisation has 33k+ employees spanning over thousands of branches and they can't afford to purchase MS Office for everyone. Pehle har staff ke PC pe installed tha but later we got to know ki pirated version tha. Jab khareedne ki baat aayi toh they declared that only handful of PCs will have MS Office. Imagine the frustration of employees. Ha sabko har waqt MS Office ki zarurat nahi padti but if an organisation is unable to provide a basic necessity then baki suvidhaaye kaisi hai yeh aap khud soch le.

0:35 I live in Chhattisgarh and a happy SBI customer, office here is not like this at all. Every process is online nowadays and they patiently teach all required process to their customers which is why office here is 98% empty and they work so efficiently and fast that my work get done within ideal time. Old SBI has set our perspective which we need to change and see the development it has gone through. I have seen the huge queue and crowd in SBI, now the progress is unimaginable. Also i have used passbook machine many times and everytime it has worked. So we need to change our perspective toward our govt organisation or visit there ourselves then comment about it.

I was also an SBI customer, there services were unprofessional. That's why I closed my bank account there. Will freeze the account without of prior message, Kyc online me submit karna option nai dha. Also will deduct money without notification.

My grandfather has an account in some gov-affiliated bank (mostly so that he can get his pension there as he is a retired gov employee) and he told me that in most of these banks, they barely do work after 11 am. He is aged and travels alone to the bank from the house, and the banks still make him take 2-3 rounds for simple tasks such as updating the account, withdrawing, etc. Compared that to something like HDFC where he also has an account, he can talk via phone, get assistance, and mostly gets work done in 1-2 days. The issue here is that gov banks are mainly for the underserved and underprivileged, but when they function this badly, it is ironic as they improperly serve the very people they should be serving properly.

One staff doing the work of 2 others is not really motivational. Government services have changed a lot these days. Gone are the days of 'Kaam karo na karo, Paisa toh milta hi rahega. I work in SBI.
1. I work on a PC of Pentium Processor and 2GB RAM for approx 8 hours, using a software designed in 1997.
2. A customer only comes for him/herself. I deal a guy who is very busy in his time and another guy who is just in banks to enjoy AC and pass time simultaneously.
3. I got burdened with many things that are not part of my job, like cross selling up selling.
4. If I deal with 100 customers, 80 of them are liability to the bank, like passbook update, Mobile number change etc which bank forces me to reduce, but how ? nobody tells.
I know barely anyone from the other side of the counter will understand the problems of this side.
SBI reduced its staff by 25000 in 5 years and increased customers by 10 crore. So who is pushing through it ?
Government employees are neither less efficient not lazy, its the whole system in India including the citizens.

Watching this video feels like you are talking about 1995-2005 era. I think I should at least add some information which you failed to add.
Banks: Sbi made more profit than reliance industries in q4 2022 i.e 20000 cr, 60000 cr in whole year, every public sector bank made profit. These banks treat their employees like shit( unrealistic targets and everything), all India posting in villages for eg UP guy in tamilnadu villages, next posting may be in a village in Karnataka. Different language, culture, food, people behaviour towards them. Now imagine a married guy taking his family to new place every 3 years( bank has 3 years transfer policy). How is he going to raise the family. Believe me only males suffer in this whole process. Female sufferings may be an exception. Imagine his old mother father etc. Many people simply leave your so called job security job. Bank people are selling insurance not banking products. I can add so much more. You know bankers come home at 8:00 and 8:30 pm usually. Nobody pays them any overtime. People are committing suicides too. Sala halka phulka video banao aur cheap publicity pao. Central government employees too suffer from irregular posting as well. Half of his mind space is spent on thinking about ways to keep his family with him and then do his job. Government will never change the policy to improve the system just to keep corruption alive. If someone don't take corruption, there are cases when his peers backstabbed him with false cases. Our offices are gutter as our government doesn't think about it. A person who fought 20-30 lakhs candidates in an all India exam, you think he is useless?. He is made useless as government wants that to continue. Private sector is better coz management is not lazy. Top down approach is followed in every organisation. It only works like that. Banks open account with zero balance, pvt bank give you with minimum 5-6k minimum balance. Pvt banks don't want to cater a beggar, public sector Bank has to. Nobody wants to lend money to small poor farmers except public sector banks. Go into a poor village n try finding any swanky pvt sector bank. Government department is a part of welfare state. People want to circumvent the rules n thus pay bribes. Fake caste certificates, degrees etc. still people mske them. Railways balasore accident yaad hai na, contract workers n less staff bhi reason tha uska. Government ko jhanntt farak ni padta kyuki logon ko free aur sasta maal chahiye. Saste main itna hi milta hai kyuki log isi me khush hai. Do your research bro, Twitter, Facebook ke group bhi join karle. Lag jayega tujhe bhi bhut kuch. Pichle 10 saal mein government ne bhut kum naukri nikali, 5-6 log ka kaam 2-3 log hi kr rahe. Frustrated admi ki kabhi satak hi jaati hai daily aisa dekh k. Being a govt employee, even If I want to resolve a issue/complain of a consumer quickly, multi level of approval is required. So even if a person in the loop of approval is very hard working and with good intention, he cannot resolve it, as someone in the loop will delay it.

I am in uppcl and they give us cycle allowance 200 rs per month but because of work nature we have to burn 80 to 100 rs of fuel per day and we pay that with our salaries and why is that just because in 80s or 90s people use cycle for transport so even now they only give us cycle allowance and expect us to travel more then 60 km on job
...also sometimes we have to work late night because of electricity fault.
there is employee shortage in most of the divisions so bcoz of work load we do not get leave easily, i have to even work on Sunday most of the time

Recently i had to update my Address , photo and number on aadhar card. I had to go to their office at literally 6 am to get the token . Then they took a really bad blurry picture of me for the aadhar card. They somehow updated my real name with a wrong spelling in my real aadhar card and the address as well. like what the hell man ,i paid you money to update stuff on my aadhar card and you guys are obviously some people who have studied to get at that post and still manage to mis spell someone's details. My Dad served in army for 20 years then he took VRS and joined state revenue department...On his retirement day (with some other officers also) a farewell was organized by the tehsil office. Everyone was saying good things about senior officers and work culture, then it was my dads turn and suddenly his soldier came out😂he went on bashing the the system for 4-5 minutes which they expected from him and made a statement ''fighting terrorist in valley is easier then working in government offices, bcoz in army officers are leaders but here they are boss full of babu attitude, arrogant and mean towards common people and sub ordinates but bootlickers of seniors, politicians. There are many points in which he is wrong..
Some of them are...
1. Loss of motivation is mainly due to no incentive and fixed salary increment in colleagues.
2. Be it sarkari or private, all banks are still open on odd saturdays and staff members of both banks goes home at around 7-8 from their branch or even late.
3. Passport officer never comes home, it is the police which comes for verification and if you are aware of your rights, there is no need to pay a single penny.

I reject your argument that privatisation is responsible for speeding up services in govt offices. Fast services has been achieved by using technology. For example maintaining of records on server rather in files, so they can be accessed fast and easy. Further i also reject your claim that govt shouldn't do business, actually it all depends on a nations economy. Complete privatisation of all sectors are not a solution for getting good services. If you want to understand what i want to convey then just ask a question from yourself 'why there are more users/customers/students etc of govt Bank, govt schools, govt hospitals, govt transport etc than private, even when they get so much humiliation and problems'.
I found your opinions like every other nukkad chat. Nothing new or precise info or opinion based on stats to understand the real problem and their solution. I also faced many problems in govt departments but i also know how govt department works.

Everyone talks about bribe that how ias and other officers are lotting the country but you can't be happy at 56100 of salary after cracking world's hardest exam 😂 ya that's the salary and Don't talk about the perks if one works so hard for any other thing in world he must have been miles ahead.😢
