    I doubt they had a REAL CNA experience. Because they had 5 people in the room for a hoyer lift transfer, and looked like 4 people for a sit-to-stand transfer! yeah try doing that with only two people while 7 other call lights and bathroom lights are going off, but there's only 2 aides on the floor of 25 patients on the evening shift, and the patient requires two person care. BUT props to you guys who actually took the time out of your day to get a feel for what we go through.

      +Kayte Forrester lol. exactly. Oh, and the aide you're working with is a lazy POS that sits at the nurse's station (and the nurses on duty allow it) while watching you struggle. Been there, done that. I wish someone would post a video on YT about how it REALLY is. This video is utter BS. Thank God I educated myself out of a CNA job.

      Yeah, I was going to say they could show their appreciation with raises. Why do we get paid less than people who work at McDonalds or Walmart???

    This should be mandatory for all levels of administration throughout the Healthcare system. I would love to work for a company that KNOWS the struggles of being a great CNA not by watching but by DOING.

      I currently live in Oklahoma and am attending school for my LPN license, however, if you need nurses I would be happy to apply once I have completed my program. I should let you know upfront though, I intend to go on and get my R.N.

    My father n law was sent home with Cancer and we found the ( Hospice CNA)to be very knowledgeable, helpful and a comfort! We sure appreciated her! The RN who came by after her was a disappointment!! I have much respect for CNA's!!

    My mother had worked in nursing homes for 30+ years, right up until she herself, ended up in the very one she had worked at when she was stricken with cancer. I used to stop in at her work to visit a few minutes now and then, and I haven't even the slighest clue as to how difficult it is to be a CNA in a nursing home, and how hard those in nursing homes work.
    However, I did have at least somewhat of an idea...and every time I hear someone complain about how hard their jobs are, I'd always tell them to go work in a nursing home for only one day. I guaranteed them they'd NEVER complain about hard their jobs were ever again!
    I hear the word "hero" far too often, it is a word that is far too often thrown out there so easily...but my mother, as well as all who work in nursing homes... truly are hero's!

    I am currently a CNA. I work in a long term care facility.. 7p to 7a.. it is not an easy job but a very rewarding job.. you will know where your heart is..

    This is wonderful, Signature HealthCARE! I worked as a CNA for two years before moving into healthcare administration. It's so useful to have my CNA background because I know the struggles of the staff and needs of the residents.

    I'm a CNA and have been a caretaker since I was 17 (now 27)! I've done home care, hospice, and worked in the hospital! I'm very happy that this organization is taking extra thought into seeing what the backbone of healthcare goes through with what the CNA work entails!!! Woohoo for CNA's!!!!

    what an awesome video.. I never understood why CNA's were the low man on the totem pole when It came to nursing.. Because they do must of the hands on , hardest work in the facilities! I think all CNA's should get paid more than what they do that is for sure.. this was a wonderful video, so glad I stumbled across it. I have worked as a CNA for most of my life, since age 18.. I am now 40 yrs old. Currently doing home health care for 1 person! It's way less stressful, but still as rewarding!!! I wish I would have gotten my LPN along time ago.. That was the main purpose for me becoming a CNA to begin with, but after working 40 hours a week, sometimes more, I never had the time to go to school.. Being a CNA is very hard work! and stressful and most of the time you are running short staffed, especially if you work in nursing homes.. But it is still the most rewarding job I ever had!!

    Thank you very much for walking a "mile in our shoes" or a day. I am a SIGNATURE HEALTHCARE CNA. I love coming to work and showing my residents the pride and respect of taking care of their basic needs as well as well as anything else that can make them smile . You can make a difference in their lives, you may be the only one they see when they get up or go to bed, we are family in way.     I've been a CNA since 2010 and my goal now is to go for my LPN, and hopefully one day my RN. It's hard work, and often times it's easy to feel undermined and trivial when working alongside a team who doesn't appreciate or notice all you do. This video is truly inspiring and gave me a bit of hope that one day CNA's will have more respect in the future. That maybe one day people will stop treating them as the lower man.

    Way to go Joe & Signature HC as an Organizational culture!! after having taken time away from my small company (retirement planning) to become a certified nursing assistant earlier this year, i applaud you folks! I've recently hired in as a hospital CNA here in Las Vegas (begin RN school this summer) and have been thinking for awhile that if ever i am able to apply my business acumen (incl MBA) as a future hospital administrator, I would love to implement what i just discovered today that you're already doing.     Amen.These people need Cna's to have the time to do the care.80 and 90 year old people cannot be quick they need time.God Bless our elderly for they are who took care of us.Lets do great care so they don't get sick.

    I am a retired ( not by choice) ER CNA, but was pushed out by my manager due to taking time off for physical therapy due to health reasons. I loved my job and most of the nurses and doctors and all the ER CNAs. I would have like it if they cut down my hours then. Missed all the ER insanity that goes with the territory. Now I am 68 and was diagnosed with spinal stenosis when I was 65. Thank you Beata for helping me acquire this job in the ER. and to all those health care workers whom had been very helpful in keeping me sane!
    To all future nurses be kind to your CNAs.

    As a CNA you can tell the difference between the staff that has been a CNA and those that have not. It sadly has become such a battlefield with CNA's in the middle to the detriment of those we are caring for and serving. The mentality put into action depicted here..i pray it does affect change as we "Stand up in the presence of the elderly, and show respect for the aged. Fear your God. I am the LORD." Lev 19:32

    My ex was a cna they made her work double shifts and the people she took care of constantly told her she was fst and sometimes tried to punch her it mentally ruined her cna workers deserve more respect than they get they just do so much and take there jobs so seriously

    I have been a CNA for about 2 weeks now. I have been through great and bad things. Have seen a ton of things I thought I would never see in my life. Watching this video really opens my mind about what really being a CNA means. It's very inspirational and has changed my mindset of being a CNA. Thank you.

    Without CNA's there would be no quality caretaking work done. Patients would be physically in a world of trouble. I can totally empathize and I applaud the men and women of the caretaking system all over the world. My wife has been and still is in the caretaking system for 30 years and I support her unconditionally. I myself have done a few years of caretaking work and I periodically do in home nursing.     Wow im gonna start my CNA in feb God willing, and my main goal is to be a physicians assistance but its gonna be so hard to let go of all of the ppl that will need me and the ppl i will grow an emotional link with. But being a CNA is the main pillar for understanding how to care for pacients wioh a real human feeling and make them feel they are loved! thank you for this vid!!     I've been a CNA for five years and a staff scheduler for 3. Times are bad right now, trying to get new employees and to retain staff. We are all burnt out. It's been a great fantasy of mine to see our corporate officers do something like this. CNA's are the first-hand care to our residents and they take the biggest load of crap from upset family members and get paid nearly the lowest wages in the corporate hierarchy... And yet our company is still expanding for the ever-growing demand of the business despite our staffing deficits, not to mention our diminishing quality of care. I have great fears for the future of geriatric care. Especially with an aging baby boomer generation depending on care from a younger, "millenial" generation that is full of careless, narcissistic "all-about-me" personalities (and this is not a stereotype; it is a statistic. I, too, am guilty of have those personality tendencies).
    What a dooming crisis for old people...

      If cnas were paid correctly, and laws to protect them,benefits,then turn over rate would be low. I created a video today in hopes of future cna students know whats really going on before jumping into this. The dark side of it. Family,residents,nurses,staff,ect.

    Having 'time' to provide personal care just doesn't happen much. There's always minimal staff, at least half of the nurses do not assist in the CNA work (and in some states they are considered in calculating the workload ratios, so they SHOULD help), and it takes away from more personable experiences. CNAs can take more time for each person and their needs when they do not have to think about every other thing they have to do before such and such time, thereby rushing every resident through whichever task they are involved in.
    But then I work midnights and the daytime/evening shifts are always more staffed. Yes, obviously the people are awake and more active, but in LTC nursing that's a lot more physical demands on your 3rd shifters with more people to care for. As an example in a comment below mentions, the reality is there's a lot of 2PA residents and often only 2 CNAs on a unit with 35 other residents to care for. Are they really going to be able to do that? Not everyone can.

    Love this video. I pass the state exam for my CNA in July of this year. Right now I am working as a CNA with a agency so I can get some experience under my belt for me to advance to a location like Signature HealthCARE. Keep up the good work and thank you for reminding us why we became CNA.

    The entire Health Care system depends of the people on the front lines, as the CNAs, and other staff. Those of us who worked side-by-side with them, know how important they are to the system. I could never do my job without them.

    I’m so glad that you guys are taking the extra step in understanding what all a CNA has to bring to the table each and every shift. I’ve been a CNA for about 2 years now and it’s very back breaking but I just love the patients and the residents. Yes, some can be a handful but you grow to love and know them in and out!! What they like and dislike. Hot tea or coffee with three sugars lol, I’m so happy that I ran across this video and I’m praying that other companies follow in your companies foot steps.

    thankyou for this vedio. after 40yrs I see the great improvement of skills and respect of CNAS. doing the work of wavered LPNs forty years ago when I first started. I am retired now and volunteer with hospice care.

    It's great that they did this, but they didn't get a realistic experience of the job. There were 2 people making a bed while another CNA was just standing by the resident...or 2 of them sitting in the dining room just chit-chatting with a resident while trays are needed to be passed. You NEVER have enough staff to do that. Make them work a unit one on one (or state minimum) and see what it really is... But still very sweet!

    Some of the happiest employees I ever seen..... The Signature I worked at was always short on a daily basis.. techs havin 24 heavy ass patients a piece, overworked... mad at the world, but shit can you blame them? and signature doesnt pay anything; they dont even pay the nurses right.... The name "Signature" has an awful reputation

    I am so sorry I could not be a cna in a long term care facility, I am a Nurse Tech in the emergency room. I draw blood, do ekg, interpret ekg waves, take vital signs. Because of that I make good money in the emergency room. Once in a while we have to clean patients but that is not on a daily basis.

    How I wish every nursing home in the USA made this mandatory to make every employee CNA certified. If you can not be willing to work with the residents, directly, then you do NOT need to work in this field of work. LPN for 27 years, I am the rare one, I ALWAYS help and APPRECIATE my CNA'S.       You will need a GED to start anywhere in the nursing field.. The time you taking to do nursing used some of that time n get ur GED..

    As wonderful as this is, it would be even more compelling if the executives would have earned a CNA salary during their time in scrubs. To work so hard and be paid so little and need to scrape by to pay the bills makes it extra demanding.

      Congratulations! You should contact your testing facility and they should be able to better answer your questions or point you in the right direction.

    Not realistic enough. 3 people using a sit to stand? 3 people in a room making a bed? No, most of the time you're understaffed and have to do all that alone.

      Username97 I agree. We're always understaffed and I dont know many nurses or med aides who want to help out when I have a resident who I need to use a hoyer for.

    I pray that GOD WILL OPEN THE EYES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF DISABILITY AND REALIZE THAT ANY KNID OF BACK SURGERY PROHIBITS A CNA FROM DOING THEIR JOB AFFECTIVELY AN ALSO EFFICENTLY..... I WILL POST THIS VIDEO FOREVER!!!!!!!

    CNA is the "McDonalds" of the medical profession. No one should consider this thank-less, back-breaking, modern day slavery as a viable occupation. At best, and when nothing else is available, it should be used as a temporary, jump-off to a real medical career.

      I don't plan on staying an aide much longer. Been doing this for 4 years now, rehab and hospital. My back can't do it anymore. I am planning to go back to college to become an administrator.
