Danny introduced me and my wife to Ewe music and dance back in the early 80's. We were in his troop here in northern California and we also studied with C.K. Ladzekpo. Louise and I have a group here now too. We're interested in using ideas from Ewe music and dance to rejuvenate western folk dance.
I like your drumming. Cheers! John

@jwguitar08 Hey there - yes, I am connected to Dan, although we've never met or played in person (yet). The dancer is Peace Elewonu - she has often come up here to VT to teach my students and perform with us. She is not only a beautiful and amazing dancer - the students connect to her so easily because she is also a great teacher. I am looking forward to seeing her again soon!

@Chezhouliannancy - You can learn this by going to Kopeyia, Ghana, West Africa and staying with these amazing teachers at the Dagbe Cultural Institute and Arts Center. You get 4 hours of lessons, 3 meals and lodging daily, plus excursions to local events - the real thing. If you'd like info on this, message me privately and I'll connect you with the director, Emmanuel Agbeli!

Thanks for posting this video. Very nice! Do you know Dan Gorlin in Philadelphia?
He has a video on youtube of his group playing Togoatsia with an amazing dancer. Search youtube using "Alokli" and you should find it.
