I’m sure God has a plan for you, but right now it’s hard to know what that is. I’m continuing to pray for you and for your wonderful hubby, who takes such good care of you. I had 4 drains after a surgery I had. 2 on each side (not a mastectomy). Brings back memories of how hard they were to deal with! You did so well with them. So, so sorry that you had to have additional surgery for an infection. That just sucks. No other words.
I experienced a similar infection after my double mastectomy which saw me hospitalised for a week. I must say it was the worst week of my whole cancer journey. I just wanted to say hang in there kiddo as one day it wil all be a distant memory and you will be amazed at the strength and courage you gain from these difficult times. I am going on 5 years now since my cancer diagnosis and getting on with life! You will too. Sending love and light to u xx
I also experienced an infection after my double mastectomy. Mine occurred after my drainage tubes were removed. I’m 14 years post op. The memories are still there. Hang in there!! Praying for your full recovery.
I remember the drainage tubes from my breast surgery. I too ended up back in the hospital 3 days after surgery. I had a huge infection (body started to become septic). I had to be on IV antibiotics for 4 weeks. I keep you in my prayers. It’s a long journey but so worth it. So happy you have Dylan to help you through this. My husband had passed away 13 years before my surgery.
Your courage, your positive attitude, and your beautiful smile throughout this whole process is absolutely inspiring! Sending you prayers and strength for a speedy recovery, Delia! ❤️
The fact that you share your entire journey always with a smile and positive attitude is the most beautiful inspiring message to the world. Prayers for you guys, Delia you are my hero! Sending lots of love and prayers always!
You are so strong my Pink sister! 🌸 I followed your journey not knowing that I too would be diagnosed with breast cancer. My double mastectomy is Wednesday.
Delia, your strength and perseverance is incredible! Dylan continues to be your supporter through the challenges. Thanks for sharing your journey with us. It sounds like you have a great team of doctors and medical personnel to help you through it all. Bless you, Delia. You are in my daily prayers. 🥰
Words can’t express how much admiration I have for you both: the strength, courage, faith, love that you both show is amazing… definitely not worldly but God given. My prayer is He will continue to provide you with absolutely everything you need to persevere in this journey💞🙏sending lots of soft hugs and blessings your way
I don’t know how your brother can post videos of taking the kids to Disney land when you are going through this. I am so upset with Darrick and Cara. Much love to you two. Delia, you will survive all this agony. Much love. 😍
I am in awe of you Delia. You are a beautiful young woman with a very courageous spirit. I went through a mastectomy in '96 and then 10 years later a double mastectomy as I had another cancer so they redid the 1st one and the new cancer to make the breaststroke symmetrical. Your post brought it all back and now I am 63, I have been blessed to be able to raise my 2 daughters, see 1 get married and recently became a Nana to a beautiful little granddaughter. ❤. Life throws us lemons, we make lemonade. The journey is tough but one day will be a distant memory. God bless you for sharing your story so that others can see your courage. You are amazing.
Delia, Dylan has got to be the greatest. I love to see your unconditional love you have for eachother. It radiates. Dylan is one of a kind. I hope your are healing and getting stronger each day 💛
You have my love and prayers as you continue this journey!!! Last Friday my hubby slipped on ice and fell. His ribs and back started hurting. Took him to the ER. Xray showed NO broken Ribs, however they discovered a giant tumor in his right lung, and in 2 of his ribs... talk about a gut punch!! We have been married 30 years. And our youngest daughter is 5 months pregnant.....

I admire your strength so much. You’re an inspiration. I watched your mastectomy video before I went in for my mastectomy. Your smile and positive attitude helped to ease me before my surgery. I am now 3 weeks out from my mastectomy. I am so sorry that you had to go through those other 2 surgeries. I wish you all the best.

The sweetness, love of these two and the beautiful piano music just made me cry through the last half of the video. You both are so strong. Prayers for strength and a speedy recovery.
What a profound and moving you tube video. Delia you are a remarkable woman. Remarkable is not even enough a word to say. As nurse for 4 decades. I truly am in awe with your courage. Stay strong. Dylan stay strong.
Delia, you are so very courageous and calm, you said pre surgery you were anxious as your mom was unable to be there, you certainly didn’t show that. You remained calm, like always, smiled your beautiful smile and went to surgery. You inspire me, I don’t know how you stay so strong, calm, and with that beautiful smile, one thing that’s obvious is the love you and Dylan share….❤️ Dylan is such a rock, but you show courage and strength with such grace and beauty, you honestly amaze me. Watching you walk after the surgery, I wished so hard that I could walk like that. Maybe one day I will, but watching you, just brings me to tears, the obstacles that have been put in your path, yet you always just have such strong faith, that gives you so much more strength. Know that they say He never gives more than you can handle, He always walks beside you. Just proves how strong you are and how each new challenge is another obstacle passed, to reach your dream of a family, it just shows me what a beautiful loving parent will be with all the patience and calm needed to be the best ever. Wishing you the very best with blessings, love, virtual hugs and healing prayers for your recovery that will lead to yours and Dylan’s ultimate dream 🙏🏻❤️💙🙏🏻😘
Delia’s personality is golden. Not only is she beautiful on the outside but most importantly on the inside. I have never seen such a light on someone. You both are the perfect light for each other. Your love for each other is heaven sent it’s beautiful to watch.
As a nurse I’m astounded!!! That’s great practice…….opening up a vac drain which allows bacteria in……who told you to do that!!! Unbelievable….and no wonder you ended up with a major infection. Those drains should be a closed circuit 😱 hope you are now recovering xx
As an RN who worked in the Plastic Surgery field, it is common practice to empty the drains on a regular basis. I also was given the same instruction after my mastectomy. That involves opening the drain, draining the fluid.from the receptacle, and then compressing the bulb of the drain to reestablish suction and closing the lid. You must not be familiar with this protocol to make such an accusatory statement as you did. So mean spirited of you at her time of great need of support. I’m hoping all is going well. She has the love of a devoted husband.
Sending you lots of well wishes. I had a single mastectomy with diep flap reconstruction and the pain was awful. I had drains in my chest and my groin. And when they were removed from my groin i hit the ceiling in pain, almost passed out, weird feeling. I am still numb on my mastectomy side and my tummy. I had 7 surgeries in total including nipple reconstruction using skin graft from my thigh. And corective surgery on my torso. I truly feel your pain and anxiety, but you are so strong and you will get through this. Love love ❤️
When they removed the drains, did they give you anything beforehand to numb the pain? I am about to have a singles mastectomy. In your experience, was the reconstruction part the worst or most complicated? I am thinking of reconstruction like the option you chose some time afterwards but not right away? 🙏🏽
@@shakinahs i initially had a lumpectomy to remove the cancer, and that was so painful. 4 days later i was advised i needed a full mastectomy and to have my nipple removed. I chose diep flap as i was 42 at the time, i wasnt planning on getting my boobies out at any time so i wanted a more natural look. The after surgery pain was mainly my tummy as your muscles are all moved about, sneezing and coughing was just awful. I had 7 weeks off work, i needed physio to help me out of bed after 2 days, and to help me with stairs. I wont sugar coat it, yes it was a long recovery but its been 6 years now my foobie looks amazing, same size as boobie and in a bra you would never know! I dont regret my decision at all, i just live with numbness.....better than cancer, wishing you well on your journey xx
Bless your heart! Praying for complete recovery and healing for you, Delia! So glad you have such a wonderful husband like Dylan who is right there for you!🥰

I had to be on IV antibiotics for 4 weeks. I keep you in my prayers. It’s a long journey but so worth it. So happy you have Dylan to help you through this. My husband had passed away 13 years before my surgery.
💕🙏
I cant imagine going through something this stressful alone, without my spouse. Women are warriors!
Your courage, your positive attitude, and your beautiful smile throughout this whole process is absolutely inspiring! Sending you prayers and strength for a speedy recovery, Delia! ❤️

Bless u 🙏

Prayers going out to Dylan and Delia
What a profound and moving you tube video. Delia you are a remarkable woman. Remarkable is not even enough a word to say. As nurse for 4 decades. I truly am in awe with your courage. Stay strong. Dylan stay strong.
Your strength is so amazing!!! Prayers for continued healing.
Thank you so much for all of the kind, loving words. It means so so much to me ❤️
Love you guys!
We love you guys! 🧡
Delia’s personality is golden. Not only is she beautiful on the outside but most importantly on the inside. I have never seen such a light on someone. You both are the perfect light for each other. Your love for each other is heaven sent it’s beautiful to watch.
OMG! Praying for a speedy recovery🙏Enough is enough of so much illness and the freaking cancer😞Praying for both you guys💞
So sad hope your doing ok
@@shakinahs oh and, i had a morphine drip
