Just installed rf8 mine doesnt have alot of the helis and quads. Also it doesn't have the pictures of the aircraft like urs....just have the old basics in the drop downs. Not sure what else need to be done.
I am also very keen to try 8 in VR. I don't have a VR headset now so I'd like dive in & get the best one... which now looks to be the Samsung Odessey (better res than Rift or Vive). I have asked on the RF forum if 8 will be compatible, but so far have no answer.
High mate, definitely want to see more realflight 8 videos. This was a surprise to me, didn't think they would go any further than realflight x. I have preordered it also. Its because of your RF vids that got me into rc sims and loving it so a big thanks to you

Unfortunately i won't be using VR when it comes out. I am a big racing sim guy, i have a monster PC and run all the sims right up to project cars 2. I had the rift just about 3 months, it was great with Assetto corsa and Pcars 2 except the fact i got severe motion sickness while using VR to the point of being sick and it taking about an hour and half for it to clear. Luckily the shop i bought it from kindly said i could send it back. So unfortunately i am on 2D from now on, i cannot even go to 3 screens either. Plus anyone who needs glasses for close up reading or sitting in front of their monitors like me, will need a special prescription lense made to fit inside of whatever VR system you will use so that was a waste of money. I would imagine using VR in RF8 will be fantastic, you will have to let me know how far your smile stretches when you get it, i had a massive smile for a while when i had it
I bought a great planes flight simulator from tower hobbies about 20 years ago and installed it to my computer and used it for about 10 years and then when i changed computers it was not compatible with it. Then about 1 year ago i bought a hitec aurora 9X and decided to buy another great planes flite sim from Tower Hobbies. It was a waste of time, the first thing i asked tower hobb was if it was compatible with the aurora 9X, and they and their adds said it was. I ordered the one that can be used with the 9X with an adaptor that is used with the aurora 9X. I received it and after many tries and inquiris to Tower and they even had me sendit they told me they would hook it up with an Aurora 9X to check it out. They kept it for 2 months and when i got tired of waitting they told me that they did'nt have a 9X to hook it up. Well they seemed to NOT have an intent to help me out with my probrem, about 4 months had passed without my problem been solved, Finally i called them and told them that i was tired of waitting for my problem to be resolved. I sent every thing back and they sent me my money back....It was a lousy experience and showed me they had lousy customer service... angelo quiles QUILEA761 my Tower ID
Wait at 5:30, that's what, what is for? You can download more planes? That is what has been holding me back from purchasing this sim. I can get RF8 dvd only on ebay for $38 and RF9 is $99. Do you feel RF9 is worth the more $ Thanks for the great vids

Can anyone tell me how to setup a spectrum tx rf 8? Stick control for helis... My stick control has weird mixes for helis and i can't figure out how to set it up for helicopter.. Thanx
TRAXXAS6606 Will do. I hope my video card comes tomorrow too. I got the controller with rf8 too. Excited to see how it works. Going to practice some 3D flying and hopefully get to do some 3D in real life this summer.
You can use the Taranis no worries. It does take a little time to set it up correctly, but when you've got it running it's much better than a joystick. I'm using the Turnigy 9XR Pro and it feels great. Mind you the physics aren't the same as a real RC plane, but it's about as close as they're likely to get. I fly all the Flight Sims and each of them are marginally different. Among these more arcade type sims I'd say the latest Aerofly handles the best, but then others may disagree. By far the best sim in my opinion is X-Plane 11. I can't comment on the latest P3D, I only have the previous version. It's costing me too much to keep them all up to date. :-)
Wow. Not many planes as you stated. I feel like I'll just stick to Pico Sim and Clear iew. Clearview has so many planes and helis for a quarter of the price.

Sorry, I'll stick with 7.5. The graphics in 8 are woeful compared to what I see on 7.5. But you're right about it not being a proper flight sim. Just check out the graphics on X-Plane or P3D, there's no comparison. It doesn't look as if they've done any work improving the graphics, unless of course you have it wound back on your computer. Not that it needs much grunt to run. I've just watched 2 videos on RF-X and both those are lacking in the graphics department as well.
Blade I'm running a 5 year old Sony Vaio with an i7 3rd gen, 8GB RAM. I honestly don't know the graphic card specs but it's very low. it runs great on this laptop. I had it going on my mom's old Toshiba with an i3 4GB ram running the Intel's graphics on the processor, (I think) it's a basic laptop and it'll run on that. the frames are around 40 but it'll work. I get about 150FPS on mine.
It's not a power hungry Sim. Why? because the graphics are so poor. OK you don't fly the background, but it's better to have graphics such as P3D and X-Plane.
Grand Master Of course. But it all depends what specs your new laptop has. If you have at least 4GB RAM and as old as a first or second generation i3 processor, then it'll run. it won't be the best, but I'll work the basics. Now, VR would require a lot more to run if you're planning on using that. but if not, it doesn't require much. Intel graphics on a more newer processor would support it as well.
So, let me get this straight. they released RFX, and it failed. so they said, oh crap, what have we done, lets just slap a new name on RF7.5 with some VR and a bit better graphics and some new included planes/locations, then a new controller, and are reselling it again, at full price? WTF? I'll just go torrent RF7.5 now...

You probably might want to try a plane setup on your tx. The sim doesn't expect (/need) any mixing
Will this look good with a GTX 1050ti? I have 8gb Ram and a 3.9 quad core. Never had a flight sim before.

You can use the Taranis no worries. It does take a little time to set it up correctly, but when you've got it running it's much better than a joystick.
